With the recent announcement Sega made at the Game Awards, I think this video will need to be remade in a couple of years... The future looks promising, and hopefully there will be a renaissance for many of these franchises
In my opinion, puyo should actually ne considered a flagship franchise. Sega decided to buy it because of how popular it was when owned by compile, and even today it still is really popular in japan, even being more popular than sonic there
Sonic is moreso seen as a mascot more than anything in Japan, hence why the cute Classic design always does better there, while the US and Europe got the Westernized depiction, which helped flesh out the character. Pretty funny considering that was exactly what Sega were betting on.
Not so fun fact: Puyo Pop Fever is the last big Sega game to release on a Sega console and also one of the few games that came out on Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube and Xbox.
The Wonder Boy/Monster World franchise isn't exactly on life-support, it lives on through the various remakes, the most recent collection, and the spin-off/spiritual successor Monster Boy series. It's a solid franchise, and deserves so much more love.
It needs to have a new game for it to be on the it exist categories, also a majority of Sega IP that were revive nowadays aren't even made by Sega. DOTEMU made Wonder Boy and Streets of Rage 4 while Forever Entertainment made the House of the Dead and Panzer Dragoon remake whereas Sonic Mania was made by fans Christian Whitehead and Stealth.
I really enjoyed the video and i can’t wait for part 2! Fun facts about Phantasy star. The first game in the series released two days after the first Final Fantasy. Phantasy star online is the first online RPG for console, and it is believed to have heavy influence on Capcom’s Monster hunter series.
I'ts not just "believed" is it? I swear there was an interview with the director for the first Monster Hunter on PS2, and they specifically reference PSO and its success as a direct inspiration for Monster Hunter, particularly its online features. Another game that I know is directly inspired by PSO is... Warframe. I remember an IGN interview with Rebecca Ford and Steve Sinclair, and one of the questions they got was "What game would you say most inspired Warframe?", and they said PSO.
@@YukikoTsukiI tried looking for that interview but i wasn’t able to find it, i also think it had direct inspiration because I remember reading that interview, till I find it I think I would leave it like this. Also wooww i didn’t also know it had inspirations on war frame, that’s pretty sick!!
That short history lesson at the beginning was cool, I love when RUclipsrs go out of their way to do that and educate a younger audience. As for this video, lots of the first entries are understandable for being dead because they were a product of their time, simple arcade games made to be played in short bursts and going for that high score. The joke about taking a shot for every dead franchise was funny though. I wanted to ask how come Puyo Puyo is not Flagship? I could’ve sworn the whole series has outsold Atlus’ SMT and Persona series combined, even Sonic Team works on the Puyo Puyo Games. When I think of Sega as a company I think of Puyo Puyo as I’m sure many others do.
He also didn't go over the extensive series history prior to Sega like for Atlus which is really weird. I'm not even that big of a Puyopuyo guy, i enjoy it but only played my first couple games this year. I have more history with Atlus myself, but I found that really disappointing.
Well said. I agree that many of the games just didn't translate well to more console oriented games however I do think it's possible but it would take rewriting what the game was and trying something new with the franchise, there's obviously ones that tried that and it didn't work like Golden Axe Beastrider.
@@MagillanicaLouM Yeah Puyo Puyo has a long history of being developed originally by compile and even getting different versions but with a whole different cast of characters like Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine and Kirby’s Avalanche, but goes deep than that, this video provides more about the history of Puyo Puyo. ruclips.net/video/rQhF6PcTyFI/видео.html
I think the Life Support tier is the worst tier because, it's trying to hang on to its humanity before becoming a zombie or completely perishing. Which means it's dying slowly, suffering slowly... And the ones that are already considered dead don't have to suffer anymore. Zombie might be the second worse.
I love SEGA. Still my favourite company. They were always so ready to innovate and move forward and as a result they have more IPs than anybody else. Unfortunately, it means that they'll always have far more dormant or dead series than current ones. That said, SEGA are actively reviving many of their classics starting a few years ago we have seen many old series revived and many more are in development. Thank god!
@@sausagesausage That because ever since Sega was bought by Sammy, the companies focus on pachinko machines. Meaning they don't have to have as many games.
Hey, buddy, for Wonder Boy, you forgot to mention the sixth game, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, as well as the remake of Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap. Both are on modern platforms and did pretty well.
Just wanted to point out that when placing Devil Summoner on the tier list, you used the Devil Survivor logo. Two radically different sub-franchises. Not that it's really that big of a deal, honestly, and it doesn't detract from the video! You've earned a sub from me, glad this was in my recommendeds!
ToeJam and Earl has to be my favourite non-Nintendo franchise. The game has such a funky sense of humor and the general atmosphere gives me Chillin' in Summer vibes
Don't know if y'all know this but, SEGA purchased Rovio(the creators of the Angry Birds) a while back in an acquisition, which means SEGA now owns the Angry Birds. My question is will you include this in part 2 as well since they're technically now apart of SEGA?
They still have some time to back out of the acquisition, so they don't actually own Rovio yet. I personally hope they back out, cuz that would be one of the shittiest buys/decisions they could make.
3:40 "Excuse my pronounciation" You actually got it right! Most English-speakers say his name like "Érton Senna", which is completely wrong. But you said it right: Ayrton. The A and the Y are there for a reason, they're two separate sounds, not one.
I did at least know of Alex kidd. Not that I've really read much about the game he came from, I just knew he was prior to Sonic. But damn that battleships machine looked sick.
Phantasy Star Online 2 isn't even as popular as the first Phantasy Star Online that was on Dreamcast, GameCube, and Xbox. The player base was much less.
@@VOAN Considering how little the Dreamcast sold (as someone who had one) and how expensive and complicated online play was back then... not to mention PSO being obscure enough most have no idea it inspired Monster Hunter... even without checking the numbers this doesn't seem very likely.
I honestly feel like some of these dead franchises could be brought back as indie games developed by some small developing studios or some could be modernized to become open-world games (ToeJam and Earl, Ecco the Dolphin, etc.) if Sega wanted to do so. Heck, I can even envision Golden Axe shifting a bit toward a game akin to God of War if they can nail the gameplay, tone, and story (unlike the last entry). In the end, I'm glad some franchises have been able to make comebacks, but I am still hoping others could be revitalized in some way
Like Eternal Champions because of well, I got some ideas on how can I not only save the franchise but also, to give Larcen Tyler a chance to be a part of the Sonic, SEGA and Atlus All-Stars family too. From proposing a Remake of Chicago Syndicate in the vein of Streets of Rage 4 (in terms of Visuals, Production Values and stuff), to everything else in between, I would be glad to do something for the franchise and maybe, I can potentially pull a James Gunn for more.
Definitely disagree with Phantasy Star not being flagship. Like Sonic Team and RGG Studios, SEGA literally have a development team named after the franchise (Phantasy Star Crew). Not to mention it's one of their biggest moneymakers.
Some notes to shin megami tensei: -the original Megami Tensei was an adaption of a Book of the same name. -There are 2 games called Persona 2: Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment.
He probably never play the NES one and I honestly don't blame him due to the confusing naming structure of the west. Considering there were 3 Final Fantasy games on Super NES all number correctly in the west, it almost made it seems like the franchise actually started on Super NES and not NES: * Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (may had been mistaken as FF1 when actually it's just a spinoff) * Final Fantasy II (may had been mistaken as the sequel when actually it was Final Fantasy IV) * Final Fantasy III (may had been mistaken as the third entry when actually it was Final Fantasy VI)

10:16 We had Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap in 2017, a remake of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap from Master System and Monster Boy and The Cursed Kingdom, from 2019, which is a sequel to Monster World IV despite not having "Monster World" or "Wonder Boy" in the title
Alex Kidd in miracle world was the first game I played, but at 3 year old, I also messed up in the red castle. So it became my great white buffalo. Fortunately the DX edition you can swap it to its original form, so I can defeat my first enemy.
I feel like Golden Axe is more of a Zombie tier game. Sega acknowledges it and crosses over it's characters whenever it has the opportunity, so they might bring it back one day, just not anytime soon.
It's kinda ironic and funny that, despite the many SEGA franchises are on the "Dead" or "Zombie" category, the "Flagship" ones are still more than what people assume on what non-Sonic franchise is still alive. Also, you mentioned about taking shots for every "Dead" franchise. Make it easier for people and ask them to take a shot for every SEGA franchise, that isn't Sonic, Yakuza or Persona (or even Bayonetta), that received new entries in the past 5 years, and had people be like "SEGA finally remembers a franchise that isn't Sonic, Yakuza or Persona". People will still be in danger, but maybe, just maybe, they can live through the drunkness.
Sega's been better at revivals than any company I can think of recently, HoTD, Panzer Dragoon, Alex Kidd, Streets of Rage, Wonder Boy, Virtua Fighter, ToeJam and Earl, Monkey Ball, etc. all got remakes or sequels. And there are even more ports and collections or ways to play the old games as well, plus spiritual successors to their classics too.
I really loved the editing, there were somewhat subtle touches that made everything really satisfying to watch. Always appreciate mentioning the music used too. Plus it was exciting to see VIRTUACOP3's CONFUSED FIGHT show up, I'd bet it's sourced from one of my uploads somewhere. Just a little warm-and-fuzzy that I made a difference. Seeing Iceferno's name was cool too, even if I haven't talked to him much. There is an angle where the research can seem a bit shallow, but considering it's covering every SEGA franchise... (minus regional exclusives) That's also when I come at it with my gut instinct and am comparing to my deep dives into smaller SEGA topics, and it's just not feasible to live life that way. I go way more surface-level with stuff that's outside my comfort zone all the time. The degree seems to fulfill the topic pretty well upon reflecting. (Also the computer's already telling you there's too much in here, it would hate my snobby advice) This is a hard for me to comment on as it's way outside what I typically cover, but I felt unconvinced some times when game reception got brought in. It's possible I've forgotten some variety, but wasn't it mistly just Metacritic? Are reviews applicable to how games were received at the time of release, or is it all modern reviews? Altered Beast for example, the scores completely burn it, but looking at Sega Retro's summation of scores from magazine reviewers of the time, it's mostly decent, averages around 60 across regions. (feels weird for me to criticise this, the rare times I talk about reception on Individual, I'm just parroting what a developer or a sales exec said once) Wasn't sure I would like this from the premise, but I quite liked it, will definitely be watching part 2 when you upload it. Enjoy!
you forgot about the wonder boy 3 remake and monster boy and they were before wonder boy 4 remake ( and yes monster boy is a part of the wonder boy series ) so yeah it should belong to the it exists tier ( in the end it is your opnion so yeah thank you for reading )
Can you correct Wonder Boy? because there was a Wonder Boy game released in 2017, Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, and it's pretty much the Wonder Boy 5. so... it should be in "It Exists"
@@banjo9158 Unfortunately I can't correct it now, I didn't leave it out on purpose I just mentioned the mainline games and the latest with Asha. If anything I should have included Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom because I believe that is considered a mainline title. Looking back at it, it for sure could go in the it exists tier.
Now that what I’m talking about, seeing the whole complete complication of franchise that is and now owned by SEGA turned into all in one (before the part 2) RUclips video for sure! I’m glad this video got recommended to me out of the blue because I don’t wanna go crazy to know what’s another SEGA series I can think of that isn’t Sonic or whatever else like After Burner (as dead as I can expect), ZAXXON (I think the zombie part was pretty obvious choice for this), Sega Rally (Super dead I’ll say due to this game didn’t get much treatment and have people barely talk about it), Ghost Squad (I wonder what’s tier list you’ll put for this game?) and more, if I wanted to keep going. Also… Enduro Racer is not on the list, I’m guessing this game didn’t necessarily have their own series other than the fact I seen it as Hang-On’s “forgotten” spinoff or what not, but yeah
Still love how the mmost up to date way to play a vast amount of sega's classic games is to just buy the yakuza series, given that they contain a good chunk of them.
Wonder Boy series has had a bunch of remakes, a successor game that ties in with the main games, and even a few fanmade games inspired by it recently. However before 2017 there was a massive drout so I wouldn't put this in "main stay" but more in the "It Exists" category. I'm a bit surprised but glad you didn't put every single SMT spin off game otherwise the video might be 3 hours long lol XD. I love SMT so much but... oh man. hehe.
Yeah and they still get released too like in the collection from very recently but I suppose those aren't counted. I also enjoyed Asha in Monster World as someone that played the original the year prior, but i get ppl really were meh on those early reveal graphics/not looking like dragon's trap remake (which i personally just found meh as a game by pretty lol)
@@MagillanicaLouM Their recent wonder boy collection was pretty dodgy n confusing. However just recently they re-re-released the same collection digital only as Anniversary edition which now has those 20 versions. what sucks is that each version costs about £35 or £40 and I was pretty mad they didn't allow me to get the other games on my previous collection as DLC. What's confusing is that the boxart and even the menu presentation for these colelctions has the same art sooo it can be beginner's trap to tell what's what and.... oh boi now im confused now lol. no worries about the list but I had to mention more stuff tho. 26:53 Although once again, Sega plan to make a movie of this franchise, that makes you start to think if Sega is shifting more to making movies rather than games.
Correction. Persona 5 didn’t sell over 9million copies. Persona 5 “series of games” did. Meaning Persona 5, Royal, and the spin-offs like Strikers or Tactica.
Bruh, Virtua Fighter in the past 12 years has only gotten 1 remaster and 2 japan only mobile games. Putting it in flagship really shows that the quality of research behind these videos is seriously lacking.
29:03 That 35 million is inflated by the amount of downloads the gacha game, Puyo Puyo Quest has. I don't know the figures, but it's definitely somewhere in the 20-30 million range for PPQ. Puyo Puyo should definitely be in the Flagship tier because they really do care about this series. Since they started developing for the series in 2001, they've not only made games, but drama CDs, a musical, children's novels, a single manga, annual pop-up cafes (although they haven't done this post-pandemic), an eSports scene because of Puyo Puyo Champions, and countless merch.

Interesting video! Me who’s a Sonic I only also knew Super Monkey Ball, Streets of Rage, Nights & Alex Kidd before this video 😭I really somehow wanna try out all of these franchises lol
So many of these dead franchises show up regularly as cameos in other games, I feel like there should be a separate tier for games like Fantasy Zone, Afterburner, and Hang-On.
hey i found a error in the ranking, the devil summoner ranking is ok, but you used the wrong game to represent it on the ranking, you used the DS title "SMT: devil survivor" which is a completley different spinoff.
"Remember Asterix?" You mean the comic that's extremely popular in mainland Europe? Yeah, I think I do. Anyway, I struggle to see the logic of the placements. Series with mainline entries released less than 10 years ago, or ports released less than 5 years ago, or multiple re-releases over a 5-10 year span, don't make sense to me as being dead. And then "it exists", "life support" and "zombie" tiers feel like they blur together and have a degree of overlap. I think you need to open a video by laying out your logic for these cuz I find myself scratching my head a lot of the time. Good video otherwise. You've done a lot of research and been rather thorough, which I appreciate. Esp. since I'm less familiar with Sega's history than other companies.
How would Sega, as a company, have held up if they've never created the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise? How about if they completely sell its rights to another company?
One thing to keep in mind is that Yu Suzuki, the creator of Space Harrier, made Air Twister last year, which is sort of a spiritual sequel to that game. So maybe the series is not so dead, in a way? I have not played it because it looks kinda bad. Just thought I'd mention this game that was very quickly forgotten.
Won't lie to you, I think you really could've not bothered with all the licensed from outside media type franchises (would've really saved some depression on the Dead End too i bet lol) but respect the dedication to tackle EVERY franchise I guess. I still gotta criticize not touching on PuyPuyo's much more extensive history prior to Sega owning it like you did for Atlus' stuff though. Still, looking forward to part 2, a lot of my personal Sega favs come from the upcoming years though of course I love many in this video.
I would have put them as “Honorable Mentions” of some sort, along with franchises that were either exclusive to Western markets or were never released there.
I would place Wonder Boy higher on the list. The series had both an amazing new game and a great remake recently with Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap in 2017 and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom in 2018. Both got great review scores and good sales.
Maybe Sega will get better, if they keep supporting fan-games, giving more franchises movie adaptations (or just another sequel to their games), bring back the original game designers for their franchises, and treat better than they did when they first had them around. Thank you for the video, Kai.
Ngl i would maybe put outrun in a life support status. Despite its lack of releases, Outrun2 has still been used by sega and associated companies for events and the such to this day. So its atleast still in mind. Super fun video
Instant like for not bad talking about Phantasy Star Like i do wish people not spread missinformation with what is happening on PSO2, like yes it HAS big problems but its far from being a bad game Still wish SEGA give more offline Phantasy Star games tho, dont care if its Turn Based since Phantasy Star 4 was PEAK, or the best 3D Phantasy Star game Zero on the DS
The use Devil survivor logo for Devil summoner is funny to me, but Devil survivor is dead and buried after 2 bangers left to be the best non first party TRPG on the DS. Edit: it’s its own spinoff btw, unrelated to Devil summoner, forgot to mention in original comment, I found it funny because it’s commonly gotten wrong
Poor Wonder Boy, getting overlooked and under credited. As seems to be its tragic fate throughout history. In the last six years the franchise gets three full remakes, two of which are great, an admittedly dodgy collection and a full sequel in 2018... yet sits lower then Alex Kid and it's one iffy remake. I ain't mad though because that is the history of Wonder Boy. The greatest old timey series most people don't know or care about.
I think it should be important to also mention some kind of appearances in video games, not just releases of that certain franchise. For example, the music from Space Harrier was featured in S&ASRT

@@VOAN I mean, the last game in the series was released on 2018, and currently has a lot of remakes, so yeah, I don't think it's just life support
@@MagillanicaLouM
Yeah Puyo Puyo has a long history of being developed originally by compile and even getting different versions but with a whole different cast of characters like Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine and Kirby’s Avalanche, but goes deep than that, this video provides more about the history of Puyo Puyo.
ruclips.net/video/rQhF6PcTyFI/видео.html
@@brandonwilliams6119 you had to mention kirby's avalanche ultra classic video game
Puyo Puyo should be in the flagship tier, it had more games on Nintendo Switch alone than Sonic.
Unless you count re-releases
Actually Sonic had more.
Thank god!

Wanted to point out the quantity of mainline Personas too, you could say it's six with Eternal Punishment. Same feelings as well
i'm loving this series. it seems like a lot of work. I appreciated you :)
Its still going through.
They still have some time to back out of the acquisition, so they don't actually own Rovio yet. I personally hope they back out, cuz that would be one of the shittiest buys/decisions they could make.
@@UmberskumpchAngry Birds is still a big money maker from what I’m aware of. And they’ll probably use the company to break into the mobile space more.
Its kind of amazing how prolific and innovative Sega was between like 1987-1995, and a shame that most of the classic series are dead these days.
I had done research on SEGA’s origins myself. So I felt pretty good when you gave info about their origins I already knew.
3:40 "Excuse my pronounciation"
You actually got it right! Most English-speakers say his name like "Érton Senna", which is completely wrong. But you said it right: Ayrton. The A and the Y are there for a reason, they're two separate sounds, not one.
I had no idea about the amount of franchises Sega owned before Sonic. This is an incredibly well researched video and I applaud you for it. :)
We really need a new Space Channel 5. Not a VR one btw
I did at least know of Alex kidd. Not that I've really read much about the game he came from, I just knew he was prior to Sonic. But damn that battleships machine looked sick.
Phantasy Star is one of the Flagships according to SEGA, being one of it's biggest money maker even in the state NGS is at the moment.
Honestly NGS isn't in a terrible state. NGS's launch hurt and the player base isn't massive in America, but right now it's reached a fine spot.

Sega took this video personally
Looks like this needs to be updated huh? I guess it depends on how good their revived titles are first though.
I kind of want to take a shot at taking the original concepts of most of these franchises and making my own unique games off of them.
How does it feel to be the only person to be unaware of how dead Sonic Boom is
I can't believe in a Sega video you made a joke about people not knowing Space Harrier as if we didn't all see Kiryu go "Lets.... HARRIER"
Some notes to shin megami tensei:
-the original Megami Tensei was an adaption of a Book of the same name.
-There are 2 games called Persona 2: Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment.
So happy watching this after the tga announcement
Good job on both of these Sega videos…I can’t fathom the amount of time and research this took.
Thanks a lot man!
After Burner was something else. Damn that game was good. The version I got to play didn't have seat belts tho.
CAME BACK AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT. SEGA also trademarked a lot of dead franchises.

Final Fantasy December 18,1987
Shining in the Darkness March 29,1991
Sega fans make it make sense.
He should do Square Enix next because Dragon Quest is what inspired lots of JRPGs as we know them today.
Think he confused Shining with Dragon Quest
He probably never play the NES one and I honestly don't blame him due to the confusing naming structure of the west. Considering there were 3 Final Fantasy games on Super NES all number correctly in the west, it almost made it seems like the franchise actually started on Super NES and not NES:
* Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (may had been mistaken as FF1 when actually it's just a spinoff)
* Final Fantasy II (may had been mistaken as the sequel when actually it was Final Fantasy IV)
* Final Fantasy III (may had been mistaken as the third entry when actually it was Final Fantasy VI)
Easy, Final Fantasy 1 didn’t come out in 1987, that was Dragon Quest 1.

We had Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap in 2017, a remake of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap from Master System and Monster Boy and The Cursed Kingdom, from 2019, which is a sequel to Monster World IV despite not having "Monster World" or "Wonder Boy" in the title
*coughcough*ProjectDiva*coughcough*
(Also the computer's already telling you there's too much in here, it would hate my snobby advice)
This is a hard for me to comment on as it's way outside what I typically cover, but I felt unconvinced some times when game reception got brought in. (feels weird for me to criticise this, the rare times I talk about reception on Individual, I'm just parroting what a developer or a sales exec said once)
Wasn't sure I would like this from the premise, but I quite liked it, will definitely be watching part 2 when you upload it. Enjoy!

I think in a year or two, a new Current State should be made to reflect the influx of revivals Sega announced.
I will represent 404 GAME RESET/ERROR GAME RESET as a fan for videos like this.
Zaxxon actually looks pretty good still, I’m not surprised it blew up. For a game to look like that in the 80’s must’ve been mind blowing
ok but why are you putting the devil survivor logo in the tier list when talking about the devil summoner series?
I'll never forget the joy I felt playing Phantasy Star Online on Gamecube.

Their recent wonder boy collection was pretty dodgy n confusing.
On switch few years ago there was one colelction which advertised having all the old games but digital versions only had 4 out of 20 various versions or something like that. while the limited physical version had those more games n various versions.
Yeah that Asha remake is pretty dodgy to, I've played much much worse games so I'll live with that.

Technically, Zaxxon was Sega's first franchise since Monaco GP didn't get a sequel until 1989, and Zaxxon got its sequel the following year.
Something worth mentioning is that “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom” is pretty much just straight up meant to be Monster World V
Even though it kind of erases the canon by stating that the heroes from Wonder Boy 1 and 2 aren't the same
26:53 Although once again, Sega plan to make a movie of this franchise, that makes you start to think if Sega is shifting more to making movies rather than games.
outrun has been rereleased for a lot of consoles including the nintendo switch with sega ages
Correction. Persona 5 didn’t sell over 9million copies. Persona 5 “series of games” did. Meaning Persona 5, Royal, and the spin-offs like Strikers or Tactica.
Wow, bold words saying All-Stars Transformed is worse than Mario Kart.
Even Phil Spencer said that Sega had a strong portfolio. Criminally underrated.

11:13 Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap released in 2017, and it's pretty much Wonder Boy 5. so... it should be in "It Exists"
One thing to keep in mind is that Yu Suzuki, the creator of Space Harrier, made Air Twister last year, which is sort of a spiritual sequel to that game. So maybe the series is not so dead, in a way?
I have not played it because it looks kinda bad. Just thought I'd mention this game that was very quickly forgotten.
there was an isolation sequel. some peoples say it flopped. but you know
Can confirm that I've seen an After Burner arcade cabinet with a seat belt in the wild.
And many think that Sega only has Sonic.
But this is true. Most of ,,modern'' young audience only knows Sega from Sonic and Yakuza. No marketing = no brand awerness.
it’s a shame sega’s history isn’t as heavily revered as nintendo’s. maybe they should make a collection of their old games
Wow, I never knew there were so many other than Sonic.
We should all sign a petition to bring back Pengo, he is literally SEGA’s version of PacMan

When you spent that time to explain the Devil Summoner series and then put a Devil Survivor icon I nearly screamed.
JK I found it funny.
No mention of Outrun Online Edition on the 360 and After Burner Climax?
I would place Wonder Boy higher on the list. The series had both an amazing new game and a great remake recently with Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap in 2017 and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom in 2018. Both got great review scores and good sales.
Maybe Sega will get better, if they keep supporting fan-games, giving more franchises movie adaptations (or just another sequel to their games), bring back the original game designers for their franchises, and treat better than they did when they first had them around. Thank you for the video, Kai.
Watch the latest video everyone, he's already aware of the recent announcements and missing franchises. Worth a watch.
Preachers: Pokemon is demonic.
SMT: Hold my beer.
Ngl i would maybe put outrun in a life support status. Despite its lack of releases, Outrun2 has still been used by sega and associated companies for events and the such to this day. So its atleast still in mind. Super fun video
I 100% hummed the star wars theme instead of opening it on a different tab
Asterix is still getting new comics too!
Instant like for not bad talking about Phantasy Star
Like i do wish people not spread missinformation with what is happening on PSO2, like yes it HAS big problems but its far from being a bad game
Still wish SEGA give more offline Phantasy Star games tho, dont care if its Turn Based since Phantasy Star 4 was PEAK, or the best 3D Phantasy Star game Zero on the DS
The greatest old timey series most people don't know or care about.
what about adventure island?
I think it should be important to also mention some kind of appearances in video games, not just releases of that certain franchise. For example, the music from Space Harrier was featured in S&ASRT
