  • Created mid-quarantine, this short doc follows a personal story about a town that has gone through several massive changes; including the destruction of an important landmark, Rockaway's Playland. We follow my father as he talks about his thoughts and experiences back when it was still standing tall.
Shot, directed, and edited by myself during lockdown 2020

There was a great Irish Pub, The Irish Circle. Great memories there hanging out with my sister and her future husband. I wish I could remember the name of the band playing, but we got them to play at my sister's wedding. Fun times

I remember the Irish circle! It’s possible that, if the band was local, they were Wine With Sue??? They’re probably the most famous local band

Lindsay killed it in the 1970s. It was NYC's dumping ground. Welfare hotels and mental patient nursing homes. I'm glad tgat its coming back alive now.

It’s coming back alive for certain people over others. Far Rockaway is still left in the dust, with little funding going to a community that arguably needs it more than Rockaway Beach; where rich people and high prices have taken over.

My parents moved here in the 80’s. We slowly got priced out and now I basically live in an attic. I love Rockaway, but gentrification is and arguably has killed it.

Immigrants of all types are welcomed in America. No one is an illegal immigrant on stolen land.
