Guys. We understand that they loosely mentioned Lauries drinking in 2018. We poorly explained it maybe, but that is exactly the point I was trying to make. I hope you can enjoy the rest of the video and videos despite the confusion on that. Happy horror month!
You guys should talk about the scripts that weren't used for Freddy vs Jason , there's a bunch of them and some are very entertaining . Start by checking the one that was written by Brannon Braga and Ronald D. Moore
Well, in fairness, it's not that poorly explained in the movie, either. She openly chugs a huge glass of somebody else's wine then immediately like an exposition robot, Karen goes "I thought you quit drinking!" She might as well have put her hand on her chin and went "Oh, Mom!"
I think when Laurie shows up at the restaurant and starts drinking the wine on the table was a pretty good indication that she was (or had been previously) an alcoholic. Plus she was drinking those mini bottles when parked outside Smith's Grove.
Yeah, seriously dick move imo. That's not her booze! For me, Laurie in H'18 was wanting everything to be about her. Yeah thanks for ruining Allison's party ahole. I think the PTSD should have been flipped. In H20 she is basically just going through a typical mid life crises. She's a headmistress, so I'm assuming she went to college and got her masters. She holds down a job, drinks less than my mom and that's after Michael killed everyone in a hospital to get to her. Laurie is a bystander pretty much in H1 and yet she feels the need 40 years later to have a doomsday bunker and go loony toons every fifteen seconds. I'm rambling. Nevermind.
@T85 yes that could be a good angle i just hope they do something to tie all of them together even if the 2,4,5,6 H20 an Resurrection are works of fiction so they can be explained because like it or not the franchise needs to be tied together finally because its been a shit show of continuity
On one side, it would've been neat that they referenced Halloween 4, but on the other side, keeping the curse and cult bullshit from Halloween 6 would've just made Michael not as intimidating as he is when he kills randomly. Getting rid of the Thorn trilogy for me was ultimately a good choice since, being honest, only one film out of the trilogy was good.
Well, Dad- is an abusive chain smoking methadone addict. In H20 people eat food, but not Laurie. Pills for breakfast, two glasses of wine for lunch and a bottle of vodka for dinner. Of course after Halloween, this ending is the strongest out of them all.
The whole of H20 is a reference to 4,5,6: Laurie surviving her death in 4, Loomis already surviving the fire in 2 revealed in 4 (if H20 actually started an alternate timeline, there would be no need to mention Loomis died AFTER he already died in 2), Laurie drinking and trying to forget Jamie's death (doesn't need to be said - and that was her purpose in the H20 scripts). Everything lines up timeline wise, logic-wise, plausibility-wise. Halloween H20 is the seventh film in the series. It's not a remake.
If I remember correctly guys Lori did have a past alcoholism problem bc remember when she showed up to the restaurant and down that glass of wine or alcohol an I believe her daughter said something like mom you stop drinking or something like that.. that was a nod to the H20 version of her.. I’m almost 100% this happened but I can’t remember the dialogue unfortunately bc it’s been 3 months since I’ve watched 2018 Halloween
H20 Keri/Laurie feels like she has more dimension to her. Dealing with her trauma, but trying to raise a son somewhat normally, while running a school and juggling a relationship. I know 2018 Laurie is older and therefore in a different phase of her life, but she feels too much like Sarah Connor. Sarah is awesome, but Laurie doesn't need to be the slasher equivalent of her to be awesome as well. With Terminator Dark Fate coming out and Sarah Connor returning, we're gonna see just how similar they are. Which is why I prefer H20 Laurie and the difference between her and Judgement Day Sarah. Tough but a little "posh". Paranoid but not hermit in the woods living in a booby trapped house level of paranoia. Brave and ready to fight but not obsessed with training and weapons. Also, decapitated by Jamie Lee Curtis is the best ending. I'd prefer Michael didn't come back from it, but either way that's the cooler ending.
They did address her alchohol recovery in 2018. 1st in the car watching Michael get transferred and then at the NHS dinner with her Family when she guzzled that glass of wine
I think the thing is regarding characterisation between timelines is that for the most part save for fairly minor differences the characters that appear in several timelines all feel like the same character. Not different versions entirely as with Rob zombies films. That will probably change with Tommy in Halloween kills but so far so good. I think keeping characters generally consistent is important too. Development changes them not they have different characters entirely.
There was another ending that Williamson came up with for the final version we have, as an alternative to the decapitation, where Laurie just drives the coroner's van off a cliff and it explodes, and we were to just assume they both died, but Curtis did not like that
I like the ending with some soft music while Michael strips down and changes clothes with the cop/paramedic and checks him out before putting his stinky clothes on him. Play 'Dream Weaver' here. Checks his charred face to make sure he looks like a Serpico type to blend in. Then he goes to the art room quick and grabs some super glue to make sure the other sorry ass can't take off the mask. He then leaves a note saying sorry he stripped him down and didn't give him any love. Continue script. Resurrection is a go. You should do a video like this explaining the big switch scene in H20.
Dudes!!! Off topic, but I finally found your review of "Trik R Treat" I was asking about. I watched the whole thing laughing my arse off at the two of you!
Ok guys...you need to realize....the 2018 Laurie did not go through any of the terror of Halloween 2...the H2O Laurie did....so many additional murders and the "brother" thing. So drinking may not be her thing in 2018 without all that.
@@WeWatchedAMovie No...Shit Sherlock was a Will Ferrell movie called Holmes and Watson....2nd don't try to go all Loomis on my comment...I may not always have a good comment, But I was doing very well last night!!! Maybe someone around here gave me lessons!!!! Love you guys!! 🤣🤣

I think it'd been cool to have a strobe tunnel scene. BUT, it's Laurie in the van with Micheal on the hood she hits the side and tips over. Swat comes into the tunnel and fires upon Michael. He falls behind the van. A Swat member checks him and Michael crushes his throat. Michael uses his body as a shield as he takes out one after another while they fire. The van is on fire with Laurie in it. It explodes. Michael watches it burn. Two more men with guns come in and try to shoot him one shot after another Michael stabs one through his gut. The last guy takes a knife trying to stab Michael, but Michael breaks his neck. Michael looks at the van burn and then Laurie comes from out of the shadows behind him. Michael turns, but Laurie thrusts the ax into his head. He bleeds down the mask blinding him. He stumbles and falls, the ax dislodging and Laurie picks it up. She stands over him ready to ax him again until he lays up. She says, "F-CK!". She retreats out of the tunnel in a dramatic fashion with Micheal in toe. She gets into a swat SUV, he grabs onto it as she drives into the woods. Michael moves up to the driver window on the roof grabbing at her ripping her shirt. He grabs her face while she viers off the hill and the SUV plummets down and he is caught pinned. Laurie's leg is badly hurt, but she picks up the ax walks over to him and decapitates him. THE END!

This sounds like a freaking action flick. I'd go with the helicopter blades with all that action before hand. As long as Michael comes back in a way that's not stupid and ridiculous.
I really appreciated Laurie in 2018 BUT MY MOM loves her better in H20 and doesn’t like her in 2018. I tell my mom that it is a little more realistic in 2018 but my mom just loves the quick badass sassy short haired Laurie and we have debates over it when we watch either of the two.
I like both versions of the character. 2018 has a more believable Laurie, while still being a badass. And I like H20 for a more balanced Laurie, even if it isn't as realistic. If I had to choose, I lean slightly more towards H20 Laurie. But that being said, the 2018 version was still very well written and acted.
How about Michael Myers taking off his mask, camera pans in for a close-up; and he says, “shit, you kill me in a dream, you’d better wake up and apologize...” Just kidding guys, I’m not sure...Ha Ha Ha Ahhh!!!

In regards of Laurie being a mashup from the 1998 version and the 2018 version I could *MAYBE* see it happening, but honestly out of the two versions of Laurie she wasn't necessarily my favorite because before I had realized different timelines were a thing and even though it was NEVER acknowledged I took her version for the character that faked her death and abandoned her first child to be at the mercy of her uncle which is a shit dick move, even for this alternate draft it is a dick move. Now on that topic is that I do believe the Laurie we got In Resurection was the blue print of what we got in 2018. She set up and made traps for Michael to fall for and she could have likely *MAYBE* killed him if it wasn't for her surrounding and her moment of doubt which ended up costing her.
I'll take the existing ending to H20...the whole helicopter thing sounds too much like the ending of some Schwarzenegger action film from the 80s. And lord, I'd forgotten just how overwritten Williamson's dialogue is. Hopefully, by Monday I'll have finished my own big Halloween retrospective. It's 99% finished and I'm stuck at work doing boring shit (and watching you guys) instead. Incidentally, do you know how much of an earworm that "White-faced fucker" song is? It's as hard to drop as the Silver Shamrock theme.
great video as always. question, am I the only one who watch Halloween resurrection and saw it as the Friday the 13th part 5 of the series? meaning I thought the crazy guy introduced in the beginning, who was obsessed with serial killers, was handed the torch after he finally kills his sister. still the worst of the series, but at least Busta Rhymes would have not kicked Michael Myers ass. thoughts?
This was good until i saw that god damn fudge Packers cup. Coming from a Cowboys fan ahhahahaha the packers reminds me of the Houston Rockets a good season team but once playoffs comes around Aaron Rodgers needs his state farm agent for insurance for choking hahahahaha but honestly I love you guys We watched a movie makes October that much better! Go Cowboys and Go Spurs Go..sending my love from San Antonio,Tx.
Chugging wine at the restaurant, chugging mini bottles while watching Michael be transferred. They absolutely showed she was an alcoholic in 2018. Pay attention guys
i am very surprised to hear anyone say they only " touched" on her trauma in h20. h20 delved so much deeper into her trauma that whole movie was literally about her trauma and building the strength to face her fear. it actually made sense and gave her character a full ark. in 2018, the only hint we ever get about her trauma is like 2 scenes of her fake crying badly acting and downing a glass of whine. the rest of the movie is her acting nuts wanting to kill myers. much less realistic and over the top. lazy writing.
@@donnybuoy @WeWatchedAMovie I don't care what they don't care about what I said... wait did you tell them? Uhm... sorry guys. I... I didn't mean it okay? No Michael... NOOO!
Why not an ending that combines all the endings? Laurie pins and decapitates Michael as Jake crashes the helicopter causing the propellor blades to slice Michael into further bits which fly into a nearby house's pool as it closes. Cut to a comedic shot of a dog coming out of a doghouse right near the pool which chews at some of Michael's remains.
JR: BY GAWDDDD!!! ITS A CAR WRECH (LITERALLY) DAMN IT MICHAEL MYERS, MYERS AGAIN BY GAWD THATS ENOUGH!! AND MUSTHPHA AKKAD SHOULD BEEN THE MAN IN BLACK IN ALL SENSE OF THE WORD SINCE HE PROTECTS MYERS BEHIND THE SCENES ANYWAY..GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS BROTHER's
I kind of assumed Laurie was an alcoholic in the 2018 scene based on how she’s drinking bottles in her car when Michael is being transported plus she takes the wine off the table at the restaurant scene and chugs it and Karen’s reaction seems like she’s used to her mom acting like that.
Guys. We understand that they loosely mentioned Lauries drinking in 2018. We poorly explained it maybe, but that is exactly the point I was trying to make. I hope you can enjoy the rest of the video and videos despite the confusion on that. Happy horror month!

There is a scene in Halloween 2018 where Laurie chugs a glass of wine and Judy Greer‘s character says mom remember you were going to stop drinking!!!
Nice, i was about to say it xD
Well, in fairness, it's not that poorly explained in the movie, either. She openly chugs a huge glass of somebody else's wine then immediately like an exposition robot, Karen goes "I thought you quit drinking!" She might as well have put her hand on her chin and went "Oh, Mom!"

Bingo
Yes, that's exactly what we're saying though. If these timelines were tied together I think her arc would make sense.

Yeah, seriously dick move imo. That's not her booze! For me, Laurie in H'18 was wanting everything to be about her. Yeah thanks for ruining Allison's party ahole. I think they should have tied them. They should have made a sequel to H20, 20 years after it.
But they wanted to get rid of the whole sister thing
No the OG H20 ending was R.E.S.P.E.C.T.! He died with dignity. He was like, "Kill me B----! ....JUST DO IT!" 😆
I wish H20 mentioned the events of 4, 5 and 6 and what happened to Jamie cause it connects all 7 of the original timeline.

I'd say first the pool scene but he does get out as they think it's over then the axing .
26:00 "WWE Style" Mike had me fucking dead xD. Good vid guys
*So Laurie/Kerri was the headmistress of a flight school?? lol*
ok jello shots But have to be GREEN JELLO! 3!2!1! Shoot!
By the way you guys are still the best! Love you guys
We're from Haddonfield, couldn't be prouder, can't hear us now, we'll yell alittle louder. YA HADDONFIELD!
great video as always. question, am I the only one who watch Halloween resurrection and saw it as the Friday the 13th part 5 of the series? meaning I thought the crazy guy introduced in the beginning, who was obsessed with serial killers, was handed the torch after he finally kills his sister. still the worst of the series, but at least Busta Rhymes would have not kicked Michael Myers ass.
WELL SEE GABRIEL! I have good feelings about this team!
@@WeWatchedAMovie I do too cuz y'all FINALLY got a fucking defense
Almost at 100k guys!!!
Where did you get that Michael hoodie from I need that asap
i worked at Hollywood Video when it came out. we would run it on the wall after closeing...well that and Boogie Nights ;)
MAN I wanted that fuckin job so bad around that time
Chugging wine at the restaurant, chugging mini bottles while watching Michael be transferred. They absolutely showed she was an alcoholic in 2018. Pay attention guys
That is exactly what I was trying to say in the video. Christ.
i am very surprised to hear anyone say they only " touched" on her trauma in h20. h20 delved so much deeper into her trauma that whole movie was literally about her trauma and building the strength to face her fear. it actually made sense and gave her character a full ark. in 2018, the only hint we ever get about her trauma is like 2 scenes of her fake crying badly acting and downing a glass of whine. the rest of the movie is her acting nuts wanting to kill myers. much less realistic and over the top. lazy writing.
For me it goes Halloween 1, 2, Return, Revenge, Curse, H20.... THE END. I don't care what y'all say.
Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle don't care what you say :)
Do you homie. I love it.
@@donnybuoy @WeWatchedAMovie I don't care what they don't care about what I said... wait did you tell them? Uhm... sorry guys. I... I didn't mean it okay? No Michael... NOOO!
Shaolin Punk respect dude that's how it goes for a lot of die hard fans. Fuck what they think now. H18 was just eh what was the fucking point?!
Why not an ending that combines all the endings? Laurie pins and decapitates Michael as Jake crashes the helicopter causing the propellor blades to slice Michael into further bits which fly into a nearby house's pool as it closes. Cut to a comedic shot of a dog coming out of a doghouse right near the pool which chews at some of Michael's remains.
and then Michael's soul enters the dog, and the dog carries out the killings as Doggo Myers!
F*** that Absolute Vodka were talking Mad Dog 20/20 and some Boone's Farm
Agree. I think it literally could have been the Laurie from H20 if they had gone that route.
Cool great stuff guys. Shape on!!!!!
Coming back to this, I think H20 handled Laurie's trauma better. I'm not a fan of Laurie's batcave.
Where did you get that Michael Myers hoodie?0
