In the original, he drove to the cemetery....looked til he found his sister's grave... swiped her extremely heavy tombstone....put it in the car....drove around town with it for hours....and then toted it UPSTAIRS to the bedroom to create a similar effect next to Annie's body and a Jack O'Lantern....

Loomis is the one redeeming thing in this film. I’ve heard some you tubers criticize Donald’s crazed performance in this one but to me it makes perfect sense that Loomis would probably be losing it a little at this point after all the crap he’s been thru dealing with this unkillable guy

The combination of Myers not only taking off the mask, but crying along with it. Then he gets locked up with the mask still on looking like a drunk slumped in his cell. Then the whole man in black nonsense ends it all. Yeah, what an ending. The Loomis/Myers beatdown was good tho. Shanks said in the H4/5/6 doc that Pleasance accidentally broke his nose with that 2×4.

80s/90s VHS box art are amazing. Modern day movie posters just Photoshop the actors looking beat up.

As a kid I'd always rationalize that the reason the h5 mask looks different from the h4 mask was because of the river - that cold water most have warped the mask to why it looked different...

Halloween 5 is not the best but it damn sure has it's moments. The beginning was awesome and the climax in the Myer's House was great especially the laundry chute. I also love the stuff in the attic when we see Michael's human side break thru before the rage took over.

The movie where the mask went full-on Henry Rollins neck. Also, a mystery gunfighter man they apparently never intended to explain. Props to Danielle Harris, though-she does a great job.
Haha so true about the neck. Other than that I thought the mask did look better than Part 4 overall. And yeah, Danielle Harris was the standout in part 5. Talented kid.

I HATED how they killed off 'Rachel' in H5. It's not the fact that she died in 5, it's just how simple, unceremonious and skimmed over it is. Like is this the same character in 4 that literally saved Jamie like 3 times. Puts Jamie on her back while running around the roof of a house dodging Michaels' stabs every second, lowers Jamie to the ground knocking herself out in the process, then limps like a mile to a school and attacks Michael with a fire extinguisher saving Jamie again, then he attacks her on the roof of the car, she slams on the breaks then hits him with the car knocking him like twenty feet.
What happens in H5? He walks up next to her and stabs her in the shoulder, that's it! BOOM, It's over. I didn't expect her to survive 5. But she didn't even get a chase scene, or an attack scene where she knocks him over, down the stairs maybe? The writer could have atleast put a little more effort into believing this is the same character from 4. The most BS dispatching of a character ever
And BTW. Unpopular opinion, I really liked Tina. I thought she was quirky, bubbly and very likable. She is also shown to really care about Jamie. She visits her, buys her a dress and is visibly upset when Jamie is crying and begs her to stay. She even runs after Jamie to protect her when Michael is about to kill her and pretty much sacrifices herself by slamming herself into Michael and jumping in-front of his knife', resulting in her death.
Great channel BTW guys. I've been subscribed for A LONG TIME and never get disappointed with your content, you do a lot for halloween fans. Never forget that!
Rachel deserved much, much better. Guessing they got to pay the Tina actress less and that's why they wrote Rachel out so early?? And I somewhat like Tina too, at least later in the film. She does show some character growth, and I thought her fear was believable as well as her love for Jamie. Gotta give the girl some credit for laying her life down for the kids.
@DarthMacchio I think Rachel just died because they wrote her character to. I don't think there was a salary issue. In the original script, It said that Rachel dies by getting a pair of scissors down the throat. But Ellie Cornell was like "Nope. That's too undignified for Rachel", so they changed it to a shoulder stab.
I agree. I liked her growth, she was very likable.
Oh cool, thanks for the info. I know Dimension didn't want to pay Danielle Harris for 6 that's why I wondered about the salary. Glad the actress stuck up for her character. A death scene like that, played for shock value, would've been a slap in the face to Rachel fans. And another thing I like about Tina taking over was that it at least broke the stereotype of the virtuous, smart, good girl being the hero. Tina was at least a different kind of character for a change.

I thought the chain playing by Michael when he was in the jail cell was extremely cool. A very unseen human moment, something u never thought you'd really see.

1. Those deputy clowns were hilarious! 😂😂 2. Meeker was awesome, I wish he never died. I got so much to say, but I love your channel. 3. Rachel and Tina didn’t have to die! It still drives me crazy how an entire Police Department just gets shot up when these guys have so much power to them.

Halloween 5 : The Revenge of Michael Myers, is my fav Halloween
I don't know how many people like it. But among those who DO, many like it a LOT. It's one of my favorite movies, of ANY kind...
This movie gets a lot of justified flack, but I honestly find the 3rd act more tense than that of Halloween 4. That laundry chute scene alone..

The car chase scene with Micheal and Jamie and her friend in the woods if you watch the car closely in one or two shots the car headlight are off and special spot lamps are mounted under the front bumper tracking the kids. Its like in this movie they did not hide movie props. I am surprised no one seen a camera man in the background.
In the original Halloween, you can see a big pile of cables on the front porch of the Myers' house. You can also see a big waft of Carpenter's cigarette smoke go floating through a scene in which nobody is smoking. Not really sure what your point is...

Don't care what anyone says Halloween 5 mask was the absolute best mask in the series hands down. (Can't argue that his masks tucked in look better, but didn't mind it being out in that film at all).

H5 sucks they fucked up the series with 5 but somehow we all still watch it around Halloween time. I never watch the original until Halloween night because I want it to be fresh in my mind and I look forward to it. Sometimes I pop in part 2 right after.

I think heard that the untucked mask was Don Shank's idea. Cause the mask was too tight around his neck, and he thought it gave a creepy scarecrow vibe.
When first saw Halloween 5 as a kid I thought his mask changed because I learned rubber and water dont mix lol
Dan S wrote a comment below and I totally agree with it......After watching H4 and H5 back to back this week.....I gotta say, Halloween 5 stood out as the much more exciting, suspenseful, darker, creepier, more eventful film.....It is just non-stop from the start and never stops........And the laundry chute scene in 5 transcends anything from either film.......4 is more traditional, and the Man In Black ending is stupid in 5.......But I think 5 is superior overall, by a pretty good margin.....Better cinematography, many more scary scenes, and 5 is just scarier overall imo....Great channel by the way guys....

Every time I see the man in black get off the bus, I think of that scene in Tommy Boy when Rob Lowe gets off the bus and he throws the milk carton in the baby stroller and punches the kid behind him in the face.
Supposedly the hermit originally was supposed to be a younger guy who was into the occult and had Celtic ruins around the cave (possibly even the Thorne symbol) I’m not sure why they changed it because this was the movie that really cemented the cult angle

I've always rated this amongst the lowest in the series (though not the worst) BUT! , like Halloween 4 before it, it too holds a nice bit of nostalgia for me because it was one of the many movies i saw in the theaters as a way too young kid with my grandpa lol

Totally agree about Rachel. She was honestly one of my favorite characters from the series and they just Kill her off in the first 20 minutes. I do get why he stalked her specifically. But I just wish If she did die it would have been more meaningful. Its like the director/Writers did it for “shock value” Moustapha Akked said on record he wishes he didnt kill Her off because she was very popular.

It's not as if the two cops are even really that goofy, but you come away thinking they were after those cartoon sound effects. I really don't know what they were going for with that; it's such a strange choice. You just can't take the film seriously after their first scene.
After Rachel gets killed off, there was no mention of her whereabouts throughout the film, Jamie didnt acknowledge Michael killing Rachel?? Did I miss something?

The H5 Mask has went from being my least favorite to one of my all-time favorites. And it took decades for me to love it, the reason why is because it's actually scary and menacing. It's so eerie in the night scenes and intimidating. The whole stretched out look and neck part kinda makes it its own. It may be shit, okay, I appreciate people don't like it, but I love how we got so many different masks in this series. In a way, it's actually awesome to have such variety. Imagine every Myers movie with the part 1 mask. Okay, that would be badass, but it would also be boring and tiresome. Different masks have become a part of the lore with the Halloween movies and something new to look forward to with each enstallment. Just like Freddy and Chucky kept changing. The least horror icons that didn't change that much and relatively kept the same look was Jason and Pinhead. But Pinhead isn't in the same league as them. NICE Everclear reference, Jay. "I Will Buy You A New Life" but I think you meant to reference "Father Of Mine". LOL I love Everclear and you guys for being of our generation. ;)
This Leprechaun Writes I love the Halloween 4 mask more still. My all time favorite is the original mask (1978) is still the best mask of all time followed by this new Halloween (2018) mask
I'm not a big fan of the H1. I know I'm in the minority but it's annoying as hell. There are so many variants of it and I just think it doesn't look half as good as masks like Part II, and part 6 and 7. But it is better than 4 and 5 masks. But like I said, I love how there is so much variety.

There was nothing remotely 'crazy' about Loomis in this film. He was more forceful, and more intense....but that's to be expected, under the circumstances.
