A new Halloween film is coming! Again.....AGAIN. Hopefully this new iteration featuring Danny Mcbride and Co. will stick but for now we review the latest cancelled Halloween film 'Halloween Returns'. This film was originally supposed to be Directed by Marcus Dunstan (The Collector) and this script for Halloween Returns will blow your mind.

In the original Halloween Michael Meyers steals a mask from the local hardware store. He then goes on a killing spree displaying semi-immortal powers. What if the mask he was wearing was made by Silver Shamrock?

Niiiice!! I like that connection. Imagine a new awesome storyline avenue with that idea. Literally could bring about new theme(s) for future Halloween movies. You need to show someone in directing that idea.

This "film" sounds scary as hell. Like the first time since the original and 4 that Michael is actually terrifying. This sounds really amazing.
I'm so glad he does not talk in the script! And having him turn on the whole town I think makes sense, considering he was a victim of the system. The scene you described where the doctor says he doesn't belong in this world, I think plays right into that. The script sounds so good!

Dr. Rogers is mentioned in the original HalloweeN 2. Watch the part where Dr. Loomis first hears that Laurie is his sister. In the cop car where Loomis pulls out his big ass gun.

33:00 they kinda did something like that in the comic Halloween Nightdance. Where Myers disguised someone else to fool everyone, while he escaped.
I like how in this script they gave Michael more of a personality and kinda a sense of humor in a weird way. Kills were cool too.
Wait.. How was the girl taking phone pictures.. if this takes 10 years after the original film? That would make this film take place in 1988..? Small thing that bothered me! But great script review guys! As always!

Michael cutting Rogers's tongue out, putting his mask on him and pushing him out of the door to get shot sounds better than what they did to retcon H20 in Resurrection. It's also a reference to a comic set in the H20 timeline where Michael does the same thing to a man called Ryan only unlike Rogers the police shoot Ryan dead thinking he's Michael.
Robert Englund would have been a bad ass Loomis, his voice would of been off though
I know in one of the scripts they wanted Gary oldman which is who I would want as loomis or malcome McDowell again
I really enjoyed the script quite a bit, but I don't really see this as a direct sequel. It read like a soft reboot to me, one that takes the basic lore of the original film and treats it as a vague history. There is no mention of Loomis or Laurie Strode. We just see the tail end of the night he came home, with Dr. Rogers being on the scene as Michael's psychiatrist. The use of Deputy Gary Hunt furthers this, as he was only seen in Halloween II, which never happened in this new reinvention of the series. There is also no mention of Myers being shot six times.
The writers said in interviews that this was a reorientation of the series, meaning it is not a sequel. It is a clever way of remaking Halloween, but without having to remake the first movie. The introduction of Loomis at the end is going to deliver a new take on the old favorite. For now, he is a mystery for this new take on the story, and a satisfying nod for the fans.
As for the time line and use of cell phones...again, this is only using the legend of Michael Myers as a vague history. This story would be set in present day, 2015 when it was written. That means that ten years ago was 2005, and the night he killed his sister was 1990. This is a Halloween reinvented, not a direct sequel.
So it's like Halloween 2018 but with a sliding timeline, where the og movie happens 2005ish instead.

I would like to mention though, when they said about Michael killing his sister in Halloween resurrection that he finally killed his bloodline, does no one remember his nephew ? Laurie had a son.
I’m so mad I haven’t found this channel before. You guys are awesome, because of this review I read this script and it is amazing! A few things are a little strange but the scenes in the haunted maze would’ve been amazing! Keep up the great work!

they need to write a thick book that is "Choose Your Own Adventure" type deal. Where you can choose all kinds of elements from each movie and create your own Halloween timeline.
All different paths which will contain elements from the movies such as:
Childhood - good up bringing killed for no reason, a cult or wicked doctor influenced him to do it, bad up bringing with a stripper mom and started out killing his pet rat.
Motives - Unknown and maybe pure evil, kills for the Thorn cult
Deaths - Still on the loose, shot 6 times, set on fire
etc

@@WeWatchedAMovie here is a movie that has ot been reviewed Prince of Darkness. Donald Pleasants was in this alright I thought the movie was good not geeat. because even though a few scenes were awesome the script could have been a lot better thought up. we know the liquid was the son of the devil trying to get his father into the realm of this world. Donald Pleasents character in this movie was a pussy. not well dialog either. however I did enjoy the joke that ends with this. "you fool I said for you to marry a Rich doctor." a little joke humor in a horror movie is good. silliness is fun in certain times but still Prince of Darkness didn't become the best on my list of Carpenter movies. The Thing however now even though not a lot of dialog was a great movie. I enjoy seeing the alien beings transform taking over the dogs. one by one the team become bonded and taken over by the imitators. I say The Thing was exellent plus the music score was perfect for that movie. I like how McCready finally deals with the situation towards the end of this one. and of course in the ninties The Thing game was made to explain and show what happened to McCready. and the part I can't figure out is why the fuck didn't childs survive and get rescued? and Witley sounded a lot like Cancer Man from the X Files. towards the end he became part of that gigantic monster alien in the ice and snow. I wanted to see a remake of that game made. The alien movements and stuff brilliant. it was all before C G I digital computer technology was ever made. that's one of the reasons the Thing was successful. I love Kate Capshaw in the movie Dream Scape. that was another favorite of mine you know hiring a man to kill the president. then another guy with psychic power stops that killer. also the snake man was cool and showing what the white house looked like in a dream after a big war attack. so cool how that world looked it reminded me of the first Terminator movie. the world that shows what life had been like when machines became rulers of the world. the second one was even more badass because Sarah Conner was more of a fighter a lot tougher. the Terminator liquid metal able to morph but able to be stopped. in one scene after the heat thaws out the liquid terminator for a few moments looked like an Oscar movie award. that's my review's on some facorites now Hasta Lavishta Baby.
Don't forget Michael did write Samhain in Halloween 2!

Seems like a good script. I like the POV one take opening that needs to be done. But I think they should carry on the story not retell everything again with new characters. Fuck the new generation too lazy to watch the old ones. Hope Carpenter brings a bit more new stuff to it and breaks out his Casio Keyboard hell yeah.

Really like your videos...keep up the good work fellas...You guys may have missed a couple things. The reason Loomis is not around is legit. If you are a doctor and you shoot your patient UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, they are no longer your patient. The doctor would not be allowed anywhere near them. Also the way Michael knew Sofia was Rogers daughter is the scene where she goes into the wing of his cell to get a look at him and her dad comes in and freaks out. I really think they should have made this movie...I agree they needed to tweak a few things, particularly the explosion, but it could have been a proper throw back to the original that we've never gotten.

Marcus Dunstan is a bad ass writer. Wish they didn’t cancel Collected. Those movies are 🔥. People often ask which modern slashers are on par with Michael, Jason and Freddy; The Collector is definitely up there.

No one is speaking on how clever the script allowed for the story to continue without having to bring back Jaime who may have not wanted to return (at the time) and the now deceased Donald Pleasence. Brilliant writing.

Dang! The weird thing is, is years ago I wrote a fan fiction about Halloween and it was of Michael getting executed and Laurie was there behind the glass, to finally see her demons die, then some how power goes out and everyone is released and it’s chaos with everyone running down the hall and Laurie trips and as she’s down she can see Michael walking stiffly towards her amongst the chaos...
U say Michaels face should never be shown ? In the original you can see his face, when he chokes Laurie at the end before Loomis shoots him
One brief moment, at a distance, in the dark, with an eye looking all fucked up vs. constantly, in brightly lit rooms, outside during the day, sitting still.
Less is more.
Just imagine this script but instead of this crackpot loomis RIP off. Maybe if it's the real Loomis and then his daughter can be the doctor's daughter. Just a thought.
Coming back to this review and ironic how we've already had two new Halloween movies and we're down to the last of the trilogy come this Friday.

Wow.....This was a HalloweeN film I was not looking forward to at all and I was glad when I heard it was cancelled....But after hearing what we were going to get....I really REALLY wish that this would've been made. This script is so true to who Michael Myers was in the first film. I love that HII and later sequels were scrapped (even though I do love them). You guys are right. This was the one.
Now that i think about it out of Michael, jason,leatherface and freddy ive always imagined jason and leatherface being the biggest like 6'3-6'5 and weighing like 220. For Michael i always think of him as average height like 5'10-6' weighing around 180-200 you know like that classic nick castle type of stature. For freddy him being the smallest out of the four him being like 5'6-5'8

Wasn't Rogers the head of Smith's Grove who Marion mentions in Halloween II and he ordered Loomis back there which Loomis went along with until he found out Laurie was Michael's sister and went to save her?
The only thing I didn't like whilst reading this was Michael writing on the wall "This town will never be safe again". Besides that I love it. And I know he wrote "sister" on the wall in Smiths Grove in the Halloween TV cut and "Samhain" in the school in Halloween 2 but I didn't really care for them two instances either.
