Or by a guitar player who is used to constantly turn the volume knob with his pinky. As guitarists used to do throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's. With 1 channel amps cranked up high that's how you went from crunch to clean and back.
@@rodbelding9523 I agree, this and the mic switch : some days it seems that may guitare learning is not about practice, but just keep the same mic position during a song : impossible :-) I love the form factor and feel, but this knobs / switchs placements are awful
@@lightlezs7048 Reading these comments you’d think customizing a Strat involves some kinda crazy voodoo. 😂 Mine has a master volume and master tone, with no knob near the bridge. It wasn’t hard to do by any stretch of the imagination, and the custom pickguard cost 25 bucks. People aren’t happy unless they’re complaining about something new every five minutes.
That strikes me as quite a versatile guitar from a sound and shape perspective. I'm getting "Intervals vibes" from the coil split thing and the volume pot placement is Swell City 👌 🤙 I'm going to go ahead and place this instrument in the "Prog Section" of the Chug Library. Incidentally, it sort of puts me in mind of an old Fender Lead II (yes, I'm that old) but on steroids.
I'm a meteora owner and i love it. Superconfortable. Great on both legs, even better standing up. I think mine has the volume knob 1 cm away from the Ultra II. What about the second tone knob? It's a bass contour knob... Does it thin the humbucker enough to sound a bit like a p90 or a single coil? Thanks, Ola!
The volume pot is the Fender all time pain in ass speciality. Why can't they make one bloody model where the volume is not in the way of playing? And now they put nails on it, to make it Ultra....
What is the point of 2 tone knobs if you only have 1 volume anyway?? If I want individual pickup controls, I want volume controls not tone. They should have just done what they did on the tele and only have 1 volume and 1 tone and put them farther away from the pickups.
I will say I do like the split sound, based on this and Bea’s demo. I imagine they had that as a priority when designing that pu. One should not have to do this with a guitar at this price point but it could get the plugged vol knob treatment and then either a single tone or concentric if you really wanted to keep both
Hi Ola, awesome video. If you were gonna keep the guitar you could rubber the volume or move it by yourself. But as it's going back to Fender no is up to them. That amplifier is insanely good.
wow, it sounds incredibly well-defined in every note. I know Mesa helps a lot, but pickups sound amazing. You can hear every note and dynamics are impressive.
I like the guitar shape. I would pull one of the tone knobs immediately, shift the knobs down 1 hole and get that knucklegrinder away from the bridge pickup... then a hotter set of pickups and that thing is a metal machine!
The slight chug sound would sound awesome when recording. It cuts much better than something with too much boost. Every engineer knows that. Too much drive shows up on the track.
Yeah, knobs shouldn't normally be there, unless their usage is an integral part of your playing. Solar guitars implement my favourite placement: right below or behind the bridge. However, I changed my technique a few years ago to achieve other goals, and it had the side benefit of not having to worry too much about close knobs any more. So I can understand players who don't care about it, too.
Ola, what's under that pickguard? I see pickup ring mounts so is it just normal humbucker routs? If the pickguard is just for show I'd take that thing off personally. Show off more of that nice Texas Tea finish. Then just have master volume and tone controls. Or if you really want to keep the bass and treble cuts instead of a master tone use a dual-concentric pot. Works for bass players. And the Metal Zone.
Seriously the volume pot what were they thinking? Literally an inch back would be a huge difference and there’s still plenty of room on that pick guard
Wish the knobs were modular. Wasn’t that Leo’s big thing? Imagine you could move the volume to the bottom and leave that one close to the strings empty if you wanted.
Guys check Balaguer Guitars, they have a very similar shape (espada I think), and you can build it for almost the same price fully custom with no BS knob placement and the specs you might want yourself. They still have really good pricing compared to some bigger companies like Kiesel, my fully customized guitar in the config was about $3k in total and that’s nuts.
That product has been here for years now and I’m surprised it’s still not discontinued. I haven’t seen that guitar anywhere except for sponsored videos
The one thing that annoy me on my Fender strat is already the volume knob... This one seems even worse lol. I really dig the shape however it looksvery cool !
That's a beautiful guitar! I definitely want one, but all the knobs need set back about an inch-and-a-half. Maybe they should have used the new rubberized knobs they're putting on American Ultra II Strats and such, or just have knobs that aren't as tall? 🤘🎸
Strat knobs, being less tall and less weapon-like are safer, but my pinky gradually rolls them down anyway. I'd still move the knobs, which I do anyway if their locations don't suit my picking techniques.
That volume knob placement is just insane.
just like with 99% of (super)strat guitars out there, it really sucks
Wait till you play a charvel so cal pro mod 2 🤣🤣🤣
Probably half inch off the meteora. Between bottom bucker and top of bridge plate 🤣🤣🤣

I guess Fender is still heavily into being able to turn the volume knob with your pinky while you play the guitar.

Sounds like it's time for that classic Strat mod of "rip the damn knob off."
Move it down to the tone knob position and replace that one with a low profile kill switch.
That volume knob placement only means one thing, the guitar was designed by someone who only has a thumb and index finger on their right hand. Crazy.
Or by a guitar player who is used to constantly turn the volume knob with his pinky. As guitarists used to do throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's. With 1 channel amps cranked up high that's how you went from crunch to clean and back.

I’m building a 27 or 28 inch baritone Meteora for my son very soon. Going to be so sick.

What's crazy is Fender moved that knob closer to the bridge pickup than it was in their previous Player Series Meteoras.
Will it chug... Through a Dual Rectifier with a Tube Screamer and in Drop-C#. Yeah... 😁
