I am enjoying your boat rebuild. Congratulations on the soon to come addition to the family. In my experience it takes a special woman to put up with a husband with a boat project, I can imagine my wife being pregnant while I was working on such a project. She must be very special and supportive. You will be on the water soon. With great respect.... Joe
Why not bracket the transom and provide extension? Just curious. I know it can be $$, but with the model you have curious if it would help or hurt the ride?
11:50 Id skip the entire rubber rub rail part and just bolt and nut that stainless insert with 5200 it comes out strong and solid have done quite a few already without any issues rubber is just extra hassle brother
Not a bad idea. I did put teak oil on it, but I guess that doesn't do much. I was considering sealing it or clear coating it, but wanted to see how it would weather. I'll probably sand it down a bit more, reinforce the rod holder holes, clean it all again, and seal it better.

You can oil wood to protect it, why not just rub all the wood down with hydraulic fluid so it all matches, and it will be protected too.
