The point about making a portfolio with 'fake websites'. You could actually pick a real business that doesn't have a website or has maybe an ugly website, and then send a video to the owner trying to sell it to them. If they don't want to buy it then thats ok, you just built a project for your portfolio. But if they do you also got a client.
Great idea! I really like it! If they decide they don't want it, I think before using it, change the name/logo otherwise they might complain (or worse take legal action)
I did this, and it absolutely works. I do it to test out new concepts as I learn them and then I present the project to the potential client. All of it goes on my portfolio. Having something already built out and ready to go is very appealing to potential clients.

I highly appreciate this video and Eddie's tips. I've been on my Web Developer journey for almost a year, after years of trying to find my niche and I am interested in Freelancing until I get employment and eventually when I am skilled enough, pursue freelancing full time. As for Eddie though, I wish him all the best of luck to further pursue his career, and for everyone else in this journey, for that matter!
Hello Kyle, if a client came to a front-end web developer and wanted an upgrade on their frontend so that the website would look more modern, how would the upgrading process work. If the 'old' website created by someone else also has a backend with a login system connected to a database? Would the front-end be created and sent to the developer that made the old website?
Hi, i heard on a youtube video something that has disturbed me. The video claimed that Freelancers charging so low for their services on the Internet is not good for the freelancing industry. It will make companies and business owners believe that they can get their business requirements delivered from freelancers for such a cheap price. So, Freelancers who charge big for their services are not worth it because they have a large number of freelancers who will do it for such a cheap price for them. So, does it mean that freelancing is a dying industry and there is not much scope for the future in it?
it does not matter, as long as you can add value, then someone will pay for that. Focus on one of them, then later you can always change - check your local market and see what would work best for you

Creating generic portfolio websites makes a lot of sense. Some of the sites I've built for people are quite ugly. I didn't want to make them that way, I was following the client's wishes.

Just don't do freelance throughout the life if you wanna be healthily rich. In start it's good but not throughout the life.

can we do freelance while working full time in a company?
I don’t see why not. It’s basically like having 2 job. It all depends on whether you can handle the workload or not.
