As an Alliance player I like to use a pair of Pink Tallstrider's as they are Hoard Animals so I have to sneak in a deep Hoard zone to get them. Not such a big thing now but back in the day this was hard to do :)
Ravagers are also a decent Ferocity pet, they get the mortal wounds ability and the models from Warlords look so good. Been using the red model for awhile now.
In PVE I use cunning pets if someone else can do hero/lust and the dungeon or raid entails a lot of movement. The extra speed boost helps one survive and dead dps does no dps
Great video! I went out and tamed two ghostly gorillas! I already had Somber Dawn... I really never thought of a clefthoof until this video, now, I dont know how I ever did with without one!! Love my fault line! Also, after seeing this video went out and tamed two Beehemoths...incredibly fun pet, quite stylish. Thanks to your videos I am enjoying my hunter much more. I'd have to say my current favorite pets are the spectral courser from legion and Somber Dawn... I just need that tome to take undead pets now....
For torghast especially if I’m having a problem with a level I swap to BM and use a rhino with a spirit beast in my first stable slot. Best combo I’ve found
@@OfficialMrKushUK I use the passive talent animal companion. Let’s your first pet slot also come out but they only do white dmg and kill command. So you want a pet with high white dmg
There is one courser with an even better look than Somber Dawn imo, and that is the Ephemeral Runner. It is an awkward tame, but if you get in the right spot it’s possible. The Ephemeral Runner has a spectral appearance with a dark orange glow, which is very cool.
wasps, and scorps used to be a go to for pvp as there are classes that stealth, and these have a dot that prevents stealth for a bit. stings, flares, and traps used to be great anti stealth tools. then came the homogenization. hell i remember when going after any elite pet required scrolls of haste, and a stamina just to speed up tame before they killed you. core hounds a good example.
Thanks BLu , was eagerly awaiting this one. Just last night I went and got myself double Faultline. He's huge lol. Would love the mount to match, alas, that did not drop. I fully note all that you've mentioned here, and can se the advantages. I now have to try and convince myself that cats (particularly spirit beasts) are not always the best in every satiation! But i'm not sure I can... lol they are just my fav family. And Ive gone for Night Fae, so my mana sabers match me so nicely, grr haha
Glad you liked the video mate. Well wow IS a role playing game, and if you identify with a certain family for your character theres no problem with that 😉
With mm you most likely will only use a pet to pop time warp so gorrilla only, BM you may as well make use of exotics, during PvP you'll either want to slow the target which silithid is best at due to its run speed bonus or reduce their healing which is devilsaur I don't PvP but no doubt you can use your enemy's corpse to heal your pet. Pve BM should use clefthoof for the survivability or a smaller pet that doesn't block the view. sv is basically a dead spec so who cares about that. With the 4 pets mentioned leaves 1 spot open for a tame as you never know when you'll spot a rare you like
My personal favorite is the ghost saber. Found only in northern darkshore by clicking on cat figurines. So kind of a challenge. And ive never seen any video mentions of this cool looking cat...
My Wolves seemed to have been dying a lot. Picked me up a Clefthoof and I am really enjoying solo play a lot more. So much stronger. I am not a power player but, I feel the difference and wanted to say thanks.
it would be sick if there was a private server devoted to just finding and taming hunter pets through completing challenges. kinda like taming the cata pets or the pets you have to track in MOP.
Yeah Ferocity are the best, that leech and self-healing makes a big difference. Between Predator's Thirst, Thick Hide and Blood of the Rhino Clefthooves are as indestructible as a Nokia 3310
@@xBLUMONKEY @xBLUMONKEY Hey I'm a bit late, but I tamed a clefthoof yesterday and it doesn't show the Blood of the Rhino passive ability in my spell book. Is that normal? It said exotic before taming
Somber. No spawn timer, he must be up, he switching with other rares on island. Easy. Just look every day if you are lucky. When hes up is super easy to tame, he spawn again in minute. So good play patches before and know. And i think little more special runner is Ephemeral Runner.
Lot of the earlier advice is... Bad for endgame. Primal Rage Is only really going to be a tangible benefit if you're in a group without a mage, shaman, or paladin, As all forms of bloodlust share a debuff, I usually view ferocity as literally required if you're running without one, However if any of those are in your party, you are /much/ better suited having 5% more health and a 20% DR on command. Also it should be noted that while 10% leech sounds insane, you have to remember your pets damage leeches to your pet, and only your arrow shots go back to you. For single player PVE where your pet is tanking that's fantastic, but in any raid or dungeon environment where your pet is taking little to no damage, You're only getting a bit of that HP back from your shots. Decent advice for the rest of the video but yeah IMO 90% of the time in raids/dungeons you're going to want to run spirit beasts or another tenacity
Good video - I only really use Tenacity when power-leveling as it can be helpful for tanking lots of mobs when burst AoE and damage reduction is the priority, but Ferocity is probably worth trying.
Can you suggest an arena pet or maybe do a video on how to do well in arena as a BM hunter overall? I got a clefthoof because of one of your videos and it’s amazing for Torghast. Go Faultline Go!
What would you say are the best pets to run generally speaking? I mainly do Raids, dungeons and world quests/Campaign. I currently run Corehound (ferocity) and Turtle (tenacity).
Clefthoof for your campaign/world quest/solo activities. For group PvE, honestly, if you go ferocity family you can't go wrong. unless someone already has primal rage or bloodlust 🤷♂️ hard to generalize it, pet family boils down to the content you're playing, pets *ability* boils down to your personal playstyle
During leveling before i get my hands on an exotic, it's scalehide for me, the abilities are just too good and it's by far the superior damage reduction.
16:51 I think they nerfed the instance already. tried 5 times to get him and watched the sologuide and did the same but right when you tame him the boss stuns you. i think this can only be done maybe on level 60 hunters. tried it on my level 56 hunter and was always stunned. and yes I played the mechanics exactly
For the last pet.. remember to take off all ya gear and don't mess up because they have a 4 day wait timer now for timewaljong mythic.. you can't reset raid for 4 days if you accidentally kill boss or the pet.. so mad I have to wait because I accidentally hit the pet and killed him 😔
Only 1 hunter in raid needs the ferocity pet tbh or have a shaman for it. Just saying. Not all raids expect to the hunter to be there for the primal rage. So yeah it will be for the extra abilities the pet comes with.
