osu!'s Removed Features

I didn't know the no video mod ever existed until third party tools started showing touchscreen scores as "+NV". Apparently I joined osu! right around the time it was removed

@@flyingBlooper Because peppy has an approach things like this SHOULD be enabled if you'd like to have full fun from game.
Fun fact - a function defining enabled background dim during breaks in config has name "IHateHavingFun". No joking.

Ezchamp made a video called "oldsu!2009" about a private server(?) where you need to use the old osu client and ranks are detirmined by score instead of pp

I mean I installed an old skin and changed the ratio to 4:3 and played old maps, it felt amazing

Something that I found with the older versions of the game before March of 2013 was how the hit circle fade out felt much more exaggerated then it currently is.

You used to be able to filter score ranking per country on the website for a good while, but it was removed as it wasn't actually intended (the site just kept the country filter when swapping leaderboards) and apparently it would spam the database and as such peppy removed it. Still wonder if it's something that could return someday.

@@br_uuh if you watch a replay, you can comment on certain parts of it on the play itself or the map, and it will show to whoever has comments enabled

I started the game back in the Summer of 2013 so I barely missed these features, not a big deal. However, the added features, such as permanently keeping a background black (and later including breaks during songs) as well as the hidden sliders disappearing, are a nice touch!
