  • In this video I install a new tonneau cover on my Rebel. I decided to pick up the Lomax Stance cover. This is an aluminum hard cover cover that fold up against the cab of the truck when I need access to the whole bed. This is by far one of the nicest covers I have ever had on a truck.
    Here's a link to the cover: www.agricover.com/lomax-stanc...

    I finally found the right tonneau cover. It's the right look, right security, and right price$. Thank you for the help.

    I love my Lomax. I don’t have the one that you can fold all the way up, but I haven’t needed to so far. It doesn’t leak, fits great, no problems. Had it about a year.

    very informative video, do you know, whether everything is made of Aluminum?

  • @bobp284

    Was seriously considering this cover because I liked the seals, the finish appearance and the ease of installation. But then I realized that it would block the cab tail lights, stick up higher than most, creating some drag, and I would probably have to climb into the truck bed to attach the brackets unless I was extremely tall, whereas on other trifolds the support arms are on the side of the bed and nothing needs to be glued. The other trifolds also wouldn't obstruct the cab tail lights or create as much, if any, drag.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  9 месяцев назад

      If you plan on driving with the tonneau cover up a lot (enough that you’re concerned about drag) maybe a hard trifold cover isn’t the right cover for you.
      I’d look at hard rollup covers as a possible solution.

      @@WaterFowler41 Still want to try a hard fold, just not this one. Had a hard rollup in my last truck. Trying something different. All the other brands sit much lower when standing. This one clears above the roof. Might even try their trifold that doesn't stand. Only needed the full bed in the Ranger a couple times. Was I correct in my observation about climbing into the bed to access and hook up the stand brackets? Thanks for getting back to me.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  2 года назад

      If someone knows where to place the hanger they may be able to open the cover. It takes quite a bit of force though so not too sure a normal hanger is enough. Most tri-folds are prone to this issue.

    If your traveling at a high rate of speed on the freeway this might be an issue if the cover is up against the windows creating wind resistance compromising the latches on roof 🤔

    Pretty nice tonneau cover, but tbo I don't like the cab top mounts or the fact that the cover isn't flush with the bed rails. For my purposes, I chose a Bakflip MX4. It's been on my '17 ram for almost four years now and still looks like new. Except for the side seals, it fits flush with the side rails. Just my .02.

    Beautiful truck man, I’m considering getting a lomax as well, another video i saw it seemed like the last pannel was flexible enough to easily lift in the middle with your hands enough to see the pull cable. Thoughts? I know a thief will get in if he wants to but i wouldn’t want it that easy either.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Год назад

      Like pretty much ever hard tonneau if you pull the last panel up hard enough, you’re getting in. The lomax has some flex but I haven’t seen a hard tonneau that doesn’t.

    Sticks way up to high to make drag……plus blocks the back window from seeing what you’re hauling………Tri-fold from Mopar is the way to go….very light…so no added weight to waste gas….folds up easy and if you need the entire bed comes off in mins……

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  2 года назад +4

      If I’m hauling anything that requires the whole bed (our 4 wheelers, furniture, etc.) aerodynamics are kind of a moot point, wouldn’t you think?
      Like I mentioned in the video I like having the ability once we get to our destination to easily drop the tonneau and have cover and a dry bed. With how much stuff we bring with us, I don’t have room for a tonneau cover.
