RULES:
The object of the game is to have the lowest score at the end of 11th round. Shuffle both decks together and deal 3 cards to each player in the first round. Each round, the number of cards dealt is increased by 1. In the second round, deal 4 cards and in the 3rd round deal 5 cards and so on until the last round when each player is dealt 13 cards. Place the deck in the middle of the table then flip over the top card to start the discard pile. Players look at their own cards but keep them hidden from others. The player to the left of the dealer goes first, then play proceeds clockwise. On your turn, either draw 1 card from the top of the draw deck or discard pile. Keep all your cards in your hand until you are able to “go out”. If you are unable to “go out”, you discard 1 card to the discard pile.
To go out, lay down your entire hand of books and or runs on the table in front of you before discarding your last card. A book consists of 3 or more cards of the same value regardless of suit. You may have duplicate suites. A run consists of a sequence of 3 or more consecutive cards of the same suit.
Jokers are always wild cards. There are also rotating wild cards that change every round. the rotating wild cards are based on the number of cards dealt that round. So when 3 cards are delt, the 3’s are wild. 11 cards is jacks, 12 is queens and 13 is kings. Wild cards can represent any value in any suite. You may have multiple wilds next to each other in runs and books.
Once a player goes out, all the other players have 1 more turn. On this final turn, draw like normal, but then you may lay down any books and runs you have in front of you before discarding your card. You are not allowed to play on other player’s books or runs. After your final turn, add up the points from all the remaining cards in your hand. Number cards are worth their face value. Jacks are worth 11, queens 12, kings 13, Jokers 50 and the current wild cards are worth 20 points each. Record each players score on a paper then gather up all the cards and the player to the left of the current dealer becomes the dealer and a new round is played, remembering to increase the deal by 1 card. If the draw pile runs out of cards, shuffle the discard into a new draw pile.
Once the 11th round has been completed, where kings are wilds, then the game ends and the player with the lowest score wins.
"The game is like normal rummy except for these changes"
my grandpa sometimes get bothered because it seems every other turn I pull a wild card off the deck. But he still has a good time with this
I love this game it’s such a blast to play with friends and family. Round 5 is BRUTAL
You mean the round with 5 cards?
@@wheresmywaterhelp oop yeah, I forget that it’s not technically round 5. My family always refers to the round by the number of cards it has, but you’re right that’s technically the third round.
We fight constantly over the round with 5 cards. Can you have a 2 carded book? NO per the rules...all books have to be greater than 3. So Round 5 is either 5 card book or a 5 card run...is that correct?
@@marye.andersonrealestate3137 yes that is correct
I seriously hate this game with all my heart and soul, what do people find interesting or even relatively fun about this 😢😂
finally they brought magic the gathering colors to a standard deck
If the kings are wild, shouldn't their queens tame them?
This Card Game is Full of Wilds.
Too much Wild Cards ruins the game.
There's 5 suits though.
Sounds like gin rummy but with an extra suit?
Very clearly described and easy to understand 👏
This was so much better than the tutorial video made by the actual game makers!
I love this game a lot. You should also do a video for the bonus ruleset included for the Five Crowns Solitaire. That would be a cool thing to have a video for as well.
Your How-to-Play videos are very well done, and you present the subject in a clear and concise manner. Excellent! If you were talking about a book, instead of a game, however, you would mention the author, right? Well, games have authors, too. It would be nice (and much appreciated) if you would mention the author of the game at the beginning of your video. Thanks. Five Crowns, by the way, was invented by Marsha Jean Falco, a woman known for inventing the game of SET in 1974, which was published in 1988 by her own company..
Get a hobby Bruce
Everyone doesn't know that piece of info, nor would it cross their mind to ask Google for it. Are you a trivia buff?
@@wanda9740 Yes, I have written and published trivia for games. I am also a member of the SAZ, an international game authors group based in Germany whose slogan is, "Games also have authors."
We used to play this game with five people with a double standard deck and it was called 65. I think every hand everyone would throw in 5 cents (or $5) and whoever won the round would win the pot. Score was also tracked in the same manner.
Normal card but DLC
SIDE NOTE : YOU COULD ALSO PLAY FIVE CROWNS USING A STANDARD DECK OF PLAYING CARDS
SET-UP :
YOU'LL NEED 2 DECKS OF CARDS WITH A TOTAL OF 8 JOKERS AND THE ACES AND TWOS ARE REMOVED BECAUSE IN FIVE CROWNS THE LOWEST CARD IS 3 AND THE HIGHEST IS THE KING
GAMEPLAY :
SIMILAR TO FIVE CROWNS, REMEMBER THERE ARE ROTATING WILD CARDS, EVERY ROUND THE ROTATING WILD CARDS DEPENDS ON THE NUMBER OF CARDS DEALT IN THE ROUND.
SCORING IS THE SAME AS IN FIVE CROWNS. THE PLAYER WITH THE LOWEST SCORE AFTER 11 ROUNDS WINS!
I bought a copy of this card game two years ago from my local Walgreens. When I played it with my family, I won.
Isn't this just Rummy with 5 suites?
All of us liked this video
2:30 I think you meant to say 13th round not 11th. EDIT: Nevermind you're right, there are 11 rounds since you start with 3s not 1s. My bad!
There is also a junior version and a small, circular version of the Five Crowns card game.
The king of stars reminds me of Asterian 🤣
I don't play often but it's a fav at family games night. Takes me awhile to get back into the swing of it so today I watched this ahead of family game night! I'll be prepared today. Thank you. 😊
Isn’t this 3 13 with a few key differences
Too confusing
I am a Filipino and this sounds like a card game called TONGITS or
TONG ITS it's kinda like the same but
Someone go first
Is clockwise
The person that gets to go first gets 13 card and others get 12 cards
Maximum player count is 3
The game uses normal cards aka
13 of every card type ♠️♣️♦️♥️
3 or more same NUMBER cards you can use to make a "book"
And you can make a straight aka
3 cards from the same type that makes a 123 pattern
K is the highest while A is the lowest
When the draw pile has no more cards the game ends and the lowest score wins
Only has 1 round
Or you can instantly win if you play all of your cards and shout TONGITS to let the others know that you don't have anymore cards to play
I dont know if you can use jokers as wilds but there is a different game WITH JOKERS
It's kind like the same TBH
I needed a refresher on these rules
Oh so it's just pay me with an extra suit
😲
Thank you for your great explanation. It helps me a lot. I love this game, I learned to play last year with friends from USA. Now I play it in Guatemala with my family.
The game can actually be played by 12 players if, at the end of each round, the player with the highest total score is eliminated.
in solitaire Do you have to draw and discard for any piles that can be closed after dealing?
This is one of my favorites since I bought it off Amazon.
This is basically "Hearts", but with a fifth deck and rotating wild cards other than 2s.
did they repack an old card game with an extra set of cards just so they could sell is as an original idea?
Can you have runs or books with 5 or more cards. Or are you limited to 3 and 4?
Fantastic video! No fluff, exactly what we needed at game night.
I recently heard about a game called Monopoly Fall Guys. Can you do a tutorial on that because I wanna hear about it
The game is like Cribbage With Grandpas with changes
So if you’re dealt 7 cards and so on..do you have to use all 7 cards? I’m a lil confused
What is the maximum number of players anyone has had ?
Thank you for the very helpful video. Well explained. D
"A rummy/canasta variant, but we've added a fifth suit so you need to buy our deck to play this variant instead of just playing it with one of your existing decks for free."
I mean, I'm not complaining---the manufacturer can't stay in business if everyone plays their games using existing decks and doesn't actually buy their product---but it's pretty obvious what they're doing.
I suppose you could also use that deck to come up with five-suited variants of other card games.
Unfortunately, this game lacks aces and 2s so you're going to have a hard time finding another game for this deck to work with.
This looks awesome. I am getting it.
Can the runs loop over? (i.e. J, Q, K, A, 2, 3)
prob could go pro in this game lmao
Isn't this just a weird phase 10?
Basically this is crazy eights
do u boot the boardgame, im lazy at reading
Can you put two wilds in the same run but not adjacent to each other? Like, 6W8W?
yes (rummy games normally allow multiple wilds in a set)
Boris
Thank you!
Reminds me of Cribbage With Grandpas
In CWG, the goal is to get 121 points
You can only have 5 computers in CWG
Each computer has a name
CWG is an app game on mobile devices
*CWG means Cribbage With Grandpas
Make: How to play: Cribbage With Grandpas
i just started this game because i was invited over a friend house from church i was so lost i didnt know what i was doing lol
Can we play normal poker game with Five Crowns deck?
I don't think so
@@amthy5675 Some casino play blackjack with multiple decks, duplicate card seens no problem
The fifth suit would make flushes less common and #-of-a-kinds (especially four-of-a-kinds) more common, and five-of-a-kinds would be possible and would probably need to be ranked. Depending on how the statistics work, you might also want to bump a flush above a full house if the fifth suit makes a flush less likely than a full house.
I mean, it seems like a reasonable variant, but it wouldn't be regular poker.
@@erickpoorbaugh6728 I did the math, and a flush is, indeed, less likely than a full house with 5 suits, and a 5-of-a-kind would be ranked higher than a straight flush.
First
First
?
This honestly just sounds like phase 10 but with extra steps
fun fact: the first guy doesn't actually comment "first"
Yeah, they probably just watched the person like anyone else.
Nah I was first
QUESTION
👍 = can you Go out with not ALL your cards and take a hit with points example…. 7 cards
5run, toss 1 card and take points on the remaining card? For a Strategic play that I’m happy to take say 3 points knowing other players may need to take more therefore increasing their scores.
👎 = you MUST be able to Go out with ALL cards and toss one out?
👎= you must lay all your cards down and discard to win.
Wat 8th
Is somebody accidentally throws a wildcat does it go to the next player or can anybody pick it up
