Oh my gosh I so agreed on that last book of once upon a broken heart series. It was like a hamster wheel with jacks and Evangeline always chasing each other. Nothing ever really developed. But this series is nothing like caraval. I loved it

I literally cannot get on the Icebreaker train 😭 I thought it was soooo bad, absolutely no plot, too many characters and just overall completely chaotic 😂
A Curse for True Love was so disappointing. Agree w you so much on the POV issue like I could not care less how you know who feels. I feel like Jacks is the reason most people love the series and then he was barely in it?? And they literally say fates are the jealous type... where was the effort? the longing? the snarky banter? None of that. So sad. The first and second books were also 4 & 5 star reads for me
this comment is so real, i gave a curse for true love like 3.75 overall but i was sooo disappointed (i also literally did not care about apollo’s pov those chapters were soooo skippable)
A Curse for True Love was also a let down for me, but you should definitely read Stephanie Garber’s other trilogy - Caraval, Legend and Finale. They are some of my favourite books of all time and the end does 👏 not 👏 disappoint 👏

13:36 I read the first two books in the agggtm series last year, but for some reason I just didn’t get around to the third one.
I had soo much fun reading these two books, so I will definitely read As good as dead.
Problem is, there are too many books and series out there and I want to read them all at the same time (book tube is contributing to that but I‘m not complaining) so when I pick up a new book or start a new series I forget about the other stuff I‘ve wanted to read/finish off. 😭

I just recently finished my reread of the whole twilight series + midnight sun and it did not hold up as well as I thought it would lol still love new moon and breaking dawn but also laughed at how angsty Jacob and Bella were throughout😂 honestly loved midnight sun because it finally had a narrator who wasn't an angsty teen

unpopular opinion but the Caraval series is much better than OUABH series. It’s more twisty and mysterious too. I think you should check them out bc the ending for caraval is amazing compared to the mess that ACFTL is 💀

i've never despised a book more than haunting adeline. it's not dark romance, it's just dark & disgusting. so so glad a book influencer has noticed the same issues i have with the book. the amount of book-tok people with large followings hyping and promoting this book is astonishing, theres nothing remotely attractive or romantic in this book for people to be loving it the way they do.

Okay, so I read four of the tattered star books and I kind of liked the first one but from then on it kind of went downhill for me.
I don’t want to spoil the plot, so I‘m just gonna say that the second, third and fourth books were so repetitive! At the end of the books the same thing happened for all the couples and I was hoping over and over again that the plot point wouldn’t be repeated in the next book … - when it happened again at the end of the fourth book, I was over it 🤷🏻♀️
So I don’t know. I liked the characters (main couples and some of the family). That was it.
I was unfortunately kind of disappointed because my mom loves this series so much.
But I could not continue.
But I do understand that some people like the books.
Lol there really were so many plot holes in a curse for true love… I even felt like the first two were a bit messy tbh but I still enjoyed all three. Apollos pov had me so done tho like no one asked for that??? Lmao I can’t 🫣😩

I am SO glad you feel the same way I do about Haunting Adeline. It’s a minority take for some reason? But that book was horrendous for me. Just painful to read for the writing, characterization, and plot.

I read one book, but in a few months, longer than most others. It was hard to get into, because I don't like reading/watching stories, of people reading/telling stories.
Looks like the current book may not be as long to read, but still take me longer than usual. I don't really want to skip this one, even though it feels bloated, it's a non-fiction about Autism.
would you say the once upon a broken heart series by stephanie garber is still worth the read because of the first 2 books? or does the last one totally ruin it?
i wont be recommending it moving forward 🫣 but im somewhat picky about endings so maybe thats just me
