I have been a fan of holly black since her first faerie series tithe a modern faerie tale. Her writing style is just sooo amazing! Have you read the side story ‘how the king of elfhame learned to hate stories’ yet? I’m soo beyond excited for the new series. i love how all of her stories tie in together with appearances by characters in her previous books. It’s so nice getting little updates on them. I’m so nervous for the movies i hope they do the books justice.
I love reviews like this, I tend to stick to non-fiction and biographies but I wanna break away from that. I appreciate your takes on these book and will look into some.
Yaaas!! I was waiting patiently for this video and I love the tascam microphone so much it makes your voice sound even more clicky and amazing!!! 🥰😴 Afternoon nap?? I might just have to lol
Haley, on your recommendation earlier this year I read The Folk of the Air trilogy and also had the experience of it changing my mind about fantasy. I am now deep into the genre. Also, fun side note, my first grandchild was born this year and their name is Oakley Jude…fun little coincidence
Currently reading the Holly Black trilogy because you recommended it like a million times! I'm on the second book now, the first one wasn't really my favourite but I've heard that they get better throughout the series and I'm hellbent on trying to like Jude as a character lol! Love this video girlie.
in order to love Jude you have to understand that she is NOT a good person AHAHAHA she is very morally grey and going through a lot considering all of the trauma she faced as a child. but i love her for it! hope you enjoy them :)
What is with all the comments having a go? She even gave a disclaimer at the beginning that her opinions might not be the same as yours, which in itself shouldn't be necessary. They are opinions! Calm down and just read whatever you want and let others do the same.
the orange girl, daisy jones and the six and girl woman other were definitely my three favourite books of the year. I recommend them with my whole heart
I would love to hear you give a full review of all of the Sally Rooney books you’ve read. I personally don’t like the only book of hers I have read so far - Conversations With Friends. But it was one of the only books to actually insight a reaction out of me in a long time, so I would be interested in reading her other books. Anyway, love your reviews, and I think that would be a good one since she’s gained quite a lot of popularity over the years.
For a book recommendation (series) i highly recommend the hades X persephone series by scarlett st. clair starting with ‘A touch of darkness’ also the covers are gorgeous
My favourite books this year were definitely Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell. I read The Mirror Visitor series and loved that as well and I'm super excited to dive into Holly Blacks writing in 2023. I have A Cruel Prince and Book of Nightto get me started lop
Ur so right "after" is one of the worst books. I still can't believe that my 14 year old self read books like this and really believed i could change a man/boy.
I personally think the best 2022 book is the scratch daughters, it’s the sequel to a trilogy about newly wlw/sapphic witches and the thing that hooked me on the scapegracers trilogy is that the min character’s name is sideways. I highly recommend reading this book if you’re into witchcraft or you want to know about it.
this is the most i’ve commented but for sarah’s j mass i completely agree i love the series the first book is not my favorite though especially because the main character is so unlikeable and the love interest (a spoiler) isn’t exactly the love interest so it just made me upset but the next books are amazing
This was so much fun, really enjoyed it. You might want to try The Gateway Trilogy by E.e. Holmes. Strong and likeable characters, fascinating plot. A young woman's mother dies and she ends up in a school where she learns she's part of a centuries old group of women who are able to help lost spirits move on to the beyond. But that sounds simple, and the story isn't. It's full of action and drama and twists and turns, with a love interest too. I read a lot, and this has stuck out for me as one of my favorite series. Intelligent, fun, surprising, and likeable.
I totally agree with all of your opinions! But I honestly couldn't get into "People we meet on vacation", it felt so slow and at some point (around 1/3 of the book) i felt really detached from the whole thing! I loved your video btw; I tend to fall asleep when watching ASMR videos but your personnality really brought life to the "slowness" of this type of content! :)))
