About The Fugitive:
Harrison Ford and Oscar-winner Tommy Lee Jones race through this breathless manhunt movie based on the classic television series of the Sixties. Ford is prison escapee Dr. Richard Kimble, a Chicago surgeon falsely convicted of killing his wife and determined to prove his innocence by leading his pursuers to the one-armed man who actually committed the crime.
Jones, who also picked up the Golden Globe, is Sam Gerard, an unrelenting bloodhound of a U.S. Marshal. They are hunted and hunter. And as directed by Andrew Davis, their nonstop chase has one exhilarating speed: all-out.
So catch him if you can. And catch an 11-on-a-scale-of-10 train wreck (yes, the train is real), a plunge down a waterfall, a cat-and-mouse jaunt through a Chicago St. Patrick's Day parade and much more.
Better hurry. Dr. Richard Kimble doesn't stay in one place very long!

"I don't care", is the perfect line for the character. His job was to apprehend, nothing else...
Exactly.
Typical government puppy
@@LIGIERJS111979 wow, there is always someone.
The film skips over it but the fact that Richard doesn’t shoot the Marshal starts to make him think he’s innocent.
I love the look on Gerrard's face when he says that. Almost like he's both shocked and irritated someone confused him with a caring person.
"He's dead."
"That'll make him easy to catch." 😂
Love that! I thought the 'Peter Pan' line was funny, and he comes back with this.
And later on one cop says: "The guy's fish food!"
Tommy: "Fine. Go get a cane pole, catch the fish that ate him." :D
The reason why he's saying all of this is because he's not sure if he survived or not.
And he was right.
Oops... forgot to say "spoiler alert".
"Are you out of your mind!? Hes dead!" "Well then that'll make him easier to catch" 😂
Gerard’s dogged determination is a highlight of this film. While everyone else assumes Kimble couldn’t have survived the train wreck or the dive into the spillway, Gerard needs to see the body to be sure.
“He’s fish food”
“Go get the fish that ate him” 😂
@bratton79, to be fair, by all rights, shouldn't have survived any of those and should have been ended 10 times over, minimum.
"He's"
such a great line. Even if he's dead still gotta catch him
It's rare for an action thriller to be nominated for 7 Oscars.
Absolutely
A fairly dry sweater is also rare after rummaging through a sewer.
It’s a thinking man’s action thriller, sure the stakes are high and there’s terrific thrills from the game of cat and mouse, but both of the main characters have honourable characteristics and both independently try to put the puzzle pieces together to solve the mystery as the story goes along.
Of course we all want Kimble to flee and solve the mystery but we also want Gerard to be on his tail whilst also finally understanding how Kimble is innocent.
One of the best of the 90’s!!
At its time you mean.
There's no way this film would win so many oscars if this came out today.
3:46 Millhouse voice: “My glasses!”
Lol
“I’m telling you, I didn’t do anything!”
“I don’t care!”
Tommy Lee Jones was absolutely incredible in this movie. Well deserved Oscar
Ralph Fiennes was robbed.
In this movie and the sequel, I have to agree with you.
He was even better in the sequel, "US Marshals".
Wasn't US Marshalls the one with the pathetic cokehead loser Robert Downey Jr.?
Lol and they say he's not even acting..that's how he really is.
"Why haven't they turned off the water yet?!" I wish they put that line in.
4:37
@@yep4630 He said to do that on his talkie real quick.
4:02 “Guy did a Peter Pan right here off of this dam right here” 😂😂😂
That was a dam?
I think it is the drainage system for the roadway adjacent to the dam.@@seanwebb605
@@seanwebb605 looks like a hydro-dam or something like that
@@TDG-f1lm I don't remember nearly enough of the movie to remember how he got in there in the first place. I thought he had entered a storm drain. Wasn't he in Chicago? Does Chicago have a hydro-electric dam nearby?
Hmmm....it seems like the scene is after the train derailment and he escapes. I'll have to go down a few rabbit holes now.
Movies from the 90s is another reason growing up in that era was very golden.
*Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar academy award and a Golden Globe award by the Fugitive 1993*
I don't care!
/s
Who cares!
And what did Leslie Nielsen get? He played it much better.
He "REALLY" doesn't.....................until the end. 😊 I love this old film...have the dvd and still throw it in every now and then. Never gets old! 👍👍👍
This movie is such a simple premise. I do not understand how Hollywood is incapable of making movies like this anymore
Because they focus on DEI and CGI. We’ll never have films like this or The Hunt for the Red October ever again.
They can, it's just they want to be lazy as possible
They can do a remake
@@Gmanu29 Dept. Gerard would be non-binary, have a husband/partner, the movie would make statements about bail reform laws, and eventually Gerard would let him go because the fugitive would be a person of color and he would rethink his career. The End. You’re welcome
@@Gmanu29This was a remake lol
The Simpsons Fugitive Parody with Milhouse was one of the most brilliant and best things that has ever happened on The Simpsons and To this day, Milhouse jumping off the waterfall dam was absolutely hilarious. 😂
And then Nightboat got him
That was genius!
I love how he doesn’t even try to jump in any sensible way. He just throws himself.
There’s no way anyone would survive a fall leaping aggressively like that, the idea is apparently to tighten your body up and go feet first, then swim immediately away once you’re in the water.
@@andrewburgemeister6684 cross your arms and make yourself as streamlined as possible to minimise the impact. And above all, pucker your sphincter tight to avoid massive internal damage
as iconic of a scene this is, it was the least believable. i don't know if anyone's attempted to prove surviving such a fall, and i reckon it's probably not that deep so close to the dam, but like the one bloke said, he's dead. 🤔
@@shuriKen469 It's not the fall that kills you, its the contact impact of the water falling on you. You will get stuck in the stream at the bottom of the river and suffocate to death.
@@AllenHanPR 100% true. The weight of the water presses down on you, and your instinct is to swim straight up against the pressure....which will not work. Your only chance is to gather the presence of mind to allow the water pressure to push you along until you have something solid to grab or a floor to push off from...away from the stream pressure.
Kimble : I thought you didnt care
Gerard : I dont 😂, Dont tell anybody okay
(Last scene in the car)
Me: I love you as Two-Face in Batman Forever
Tommy: I don’t care
Tommy is famously _REALLY_ unkind to his fans. He hates their guts lol
@@visionist7 I'm sure, Tommy will come around to liking his fans eventually
Release the Schumacher Cut
FUN FACT: Jim Carrey said while filming "Batman Forever", Jones told him "I hate you. I really don't like you. I can't sanction your bafoonery".
Kind of hypocritical seeing his performance in that movie.
@@SauerkrautSandwich93 It is common knowledge
Harrison Ford is my favorite actor. I met him in Lincoln NE at a coffee shop before the NU vs MU game in 2011. Just a regular nice guy.
You're lucky you didn't meet Tommy Lee Jones instead. He's openly hostile to his fans in public. A shame but that's how he is and we all have to respect it I guess
But anyone without his talent would not get away with it
Who's NU and who's MU?
My siblings went to see "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" with their friends, but I chose to watch "The Fugitive" alone and enjoyed it.
You chose wisely.
Sounds like you both made the right choice
The best choice would have been for all of you to double feature.
@@Alakaizerthey had no desire to see it
I would have joined you
I could stitch this movie together with the amount of times I saw this on SpikeTV as a kid.
"Yeah! BOOM!" Always liked that.
"can we go home now" --> LOL !!!
No! No. Come on.
I have pneumonia but I'm getting to appreciate this movie it's called The fugitive I'm watching it right now and channel 11 on the AMC channel at the hospital. Smiles I love Tommy Lee Jones
I hope you recover quickly and get to watch this many more times.
Get better soon!! 🙂
Wow Ralphie was a U.S. Marshall before being unplugged and returned to the matrix as a mob captain. What a journey.
he was undercover as the mob captain, duh.
Truly a classic film! Brilliant performances all around!! 👌👌💪
It's hard to find a flaw in this near perfect film
This movie was superb for its time . Still great flick to watch from time to time .
“Guy just did a Peter Pan right off this dam!”
Judging guilt or innocence isn't his job. His job is to catch the fugitive. That's why he said I don't care.
It’s definitely a better line than what was originally written, and Tommy Lee Jones sure gave it his best!
According to the original draft, Jones’s line was supposed to be “That’s not my problem.” and he didn’t agree with it, so he came up with “I don’t care!”
Fit the character way better
Too bad Harrison Ford didn't reply "I know".
"Are you outta yer mind?!... he's dead!"
Well that oughtta make him easy ta ketch!"
😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
Classic movie!
US Marshall was a perfect spinoff . The Marshall were incredibly witty and great chemistry
This is seriously a top 5 favorite line delivery of mine, just so hilarious to me
That's a great movie. Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford were both great in that movie. I know that it's just a movie. If that was real, there's no way of him surviving that jump. I thought it was something how that movie ended. Great movie. Thanks 👍.
He just left his primary at the drain's edge 😂😂
He doesn't care...lol
Probably went over the edge. It was being pushed by the current and was by Kimball’s foot when he turned to kneel. So I imagine it must’ve been swept over the edge when Kimball jumped.
Or the director forgot to instruct Tommy Lee Jones to pick it up and nobody noticed or thought about the detail.
Either way Gerard would’ve gotten reamed in the Captains office for losing his duty weapon after having it taken by a suspect. 😂
Maybe he wants to see if Kimble's finger prints match.
The rag doll😂
My glasses!
What a great set piece. I feel dizzy just watching them stand on the edge looking down.
Them being lost at the end is such a nice touch
"Han, I love you"
"I don't care!"
Loved this movie, and one of the greatest lines in movie history.
Richard, do you wanna get SHOT?! 😂
This was the best movie. When it came out, everyone loved it!
@ 4:02 the best sequence between Kimble and Gerard, home boy did a Peter Pan of the DAM.
Poor Milhouse
My glasses!!😂😂

“I thought you said you didn’t care.
I don’t.
Just don’t tell anybody 😉”.
“Are you out of your mind?! He’s dead!”
“That will make him easier to catch.”
Epic dialogue.
It was sarcasm before a lot of us knew what it even was! Adult jokes that completely went over all of our heads! Lol
"Shut up, Cosmo!" is an underrated line.
2:26 the second glock, very clever
"Do we go home now?"
"No!"
Excellent movie 🎥👍
One of my favorite movies.
Best scene in the whole movie.
I feel Harrison Ford deserved anOscar for Best Actor for his phenomenal role as Dr Kimble
Tommy Lee Jones is a great actor
Al Gore's college roommate...
0:14 When you finally wear your Chuck Taylors
It scares me this movie will be 31 years old this summer. I remember seeing this in the theater on opening night.
Twice.
Was it packed? Also did they use curtains to narrow the screen for the 1:85 picture
@@visionist7 Yes! And yes! 😁

That's the definition of "I'm just doing my job.".
Now THIS is a 90s movie
Two-Face always carries two guns.
Tommy Lee Jones (The Fugitive, Batman, Men in Black) and Harrison Ford (The Fugitive, Star Wars, Indiana Jones) were a great duo in this movie
It was the “I don’t care” that caught my memory.
It's been said over the years that TLJ improvised "I don't care" instead of saying "Why should it be my problem?"
Great movie
Best Glock advertisement ever
hotline miami RAHHHH
The sequel really took the product placement up a notch
Funny! That rag doll was about to do a header right into the dam when they cut away to the other view!
Once upon a time Hollywood told great stories that were thrilling to watch.
People didn't complain in those days when studios adapted classic television or old movies into modern versions for a new audience.

2:12 When someone tells me that they don't like Green Day 😂
Excellent film!
I love this movie. And U.S. Marshalls
A+ flick.
Milhouse: I'm telling you, I'm innocent!
US Marshall: I don't care!
*Jumps off dam*
Milhouse: My glasses!
Supposed to be a serious scene but three US Marshalls are trying to find their way out of a dam is pretty funny.
It's clever because it establishes the marshalls as protagonists too by making us "vibe" with them
01:26 what kind of cable / line is that?
Hope nothing electrical? 😂
4:39 - movie mistake: you can clearly see that there are no tunnel holes the water has been spilling from, the water runs OVER the dam. this is clearly not the dam Dr. Kimble jumped from....
Such a great film.
He cared.
💐📽️ AWESOME PERFORMANCE BY DR KIMBLE ( Harrison Ford)
More of an edge-of-your-seat thriller than a straight-up action movie, the sticky situations Harrison Ford gets himself out of - featuring absolutely insane stunts - make this more than a worthy addition to the list. And with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones (the latter in an Oscar winning turn) at the helm, it worked fine. 🌲FELIZ NAVIDAD A TODOS 🎅
I LOVE THIS MOVIE !! IT'S 1 OF MY FAVORITES !! : )
Sensacional...filme top dos top
The tunnel they are running through at the end of the scene is the same one from force ten from navarone.
It occurs to me now how much time, money, and manpower they were blowing to find this one guy.
True. I guess the higher ups would justify TLJ's character obsessiveness with the department wanting to set an example that nobody escapes them. Behind closed doors they'd be screaming at him
Ooooooh my glasses!
all Love action movies very much alsow and Forever
Ahhhhhhh!!! My glasses!!!
Classic Simpson reference 😂
“I remember you were holding my gun me.”
I'm guessing this was an inspiration for MGS3 Snake Eater
Weirdly, I'd never made the connection until just now -- Harrison Ford made two films involving dams! I just watched "Force 10 from Navarone" a few nights ago on RUclips!
in the original script Gerard was suppose to say "we can find a way" or something, but Tommy Lee Jones changed it to "I Dont Care", to make it seem like he is just doing his job.
for one moment I thought someone spliced in Force 10 from Navarone, the tunnel while they were trying to get out..... ;)
I am love this scene 80 x
We got us a gopher.. uh, scratch that, we got us a flying squirrel...
3:08 if you turn towards a fed with a gun in your hand like that you are gonna definitely get shot!
He's not supposed to care. His job is bring him back, after that, his mission is done. Period.
But towards the end he did care I personally believe that Jared knew that Kimball was innocent all the time!
@@rashad051402 Yup.
He could still care and do his job.
@@rashad051402 Not quite. Gerard doesn't start to change his mind on Kimball until the hospital scene, when he learns that Kimball went out of his way to save the life of the boy. Afterward, this causes him to investigate the case further and that's when he learns what was really going on. (He did have some suspicions early on because he already met the one-armed man previously, but the hospital scene made it clear Kimball was no killer).
Right here, at the end of the video
His boss calls him
"Honey, there's a point where you just station guys downstream..."
Freaking Cypher, man. Cared more about his shoes then catching the guy
"My glasses!"
Everyone expected Feinns to win for Schindler's List. But this proved that a quippy fast talking character in a seemingly regular action movie could always take the spoils.
The guy is fish food! Gerard: "Fine. Go get a cane pole and catch the fish that ate him!"
'There's no way out of this place...'
