    It's crazy how compact your PIV laser modules are for the power they output. For instance, I would need some 25 overdriven CBT 90 LEDs fiber coupled to a 0.5 mm thick line light optic to get similar results for planar PIV in air. However, I must say LEDs are superior for volumetric PIV as only 4 LEDs are needed for sufficient pulse energies to illuminate a volume of ~10cm x ~5cm x ~2cm volume in air without the hazards associated with lasers (e.g., it's harder to burn down your lab or retinas).

    Dear Dr. William Thielicke, may I ask how to set a mask that can change with the shape of the water surface when analyzing a set of images using MATLAB's PIVlab, which are waves? Or is there any other way to remove particles from the upper air during analysis?
