🎉best review of the tent. Two 5"5 adults and a huge German Shepherd on board, going for the long version. Cats sleeping down in the truck cabin, as they live to destroy the mesh windows 😂🎉
The air core mattress is definitely worth it! I purchased it for my fsr odyssey and it was a massive improvement for comfort and I can now fit my ladder and bedding in the tent.
My RTT could definitely use a mattress upgrade. I sat on their new mattress at expo last year and it felt fantastic but haven't looking into it since. I didn't realize they were so decently priced!
Had this tent less than a year, no rain flys for the windows is a killer, unless it’s a light drizzle you have to have the windows completely closed during rain. Very small on the inside as well. Mounting the tent was easiest of the multiple RTT’s I’ve had. From my personal experience on the east coast where it rains more than out west I would stay away.
I've been wondering about this exact thing. Ready to buy, but torn on pros and cons between my top 3 choices. I was thinking of buying rain fly rod holders, rain fly rods and tarp clamps to create my own rain protection. The only thing I see being a potential issue is the weight of the tri-layer fabric creating sag, even despite the tension the rods produce. Do you think that would work?
@@michaell.7151 I’m not sure how to picture the setup you’re speaking of but there is a lip around the “roof” that you would hook and or clamp a tarp to to create your own rain flys.
That's a really nice tent, but where are the rain flys for the windows? I live in Arizona and even during rainstorms it can be very hot and humid. I don't want to have to close the windows to stay dry, only to sweat to death.
Watching you sit in that tent really brings home just how cramped that space is for two people. I had their Odyssey tent and ended up getting rid of it because it just wasn’t enough room for my wife and I. We aren’t very big people, I’m 5’11” 190lbs, she is 5’7” 150lbs, and we had to sleep shoulder to shoulder all night. Not only does it make it difficult to move without waking the other person, but on hot evenings it is very uncomfortable to be that close. FSR makes high quality and innovative tents that, unfortunately, are just too small to sleep two people comfortably. If they would develop a tent with a fold out section like iKamper, but with the FSR innovation and quality, I’d buy one tomorrow. Until then, I guess I’ll just have to continue my search.
All of the FSR tents I’ve tested can withstand pretty crazy winds and rainy weather. There are a few videos on my SATLander playlist showing these tents in crazy conditions.
What hardware are you using to mount the tent to your rack? It appears that you have Front Runner load bars, which I have also (if I’m correct about yours), and I really like the mounting hardware, but I’ve been searching and have been unable to find that specific mount I see in your video around the 3:41 mark.
Dude i dont know what the fuck it is, but i’ve been following you for years i would think at this point and half the time you don’t even pop up in my subscriptions or on my feed at all. Literally has been 6+ months
I am still convinced the sudden popularity of roof top tents is just people getting in touch with our evolutionary development of preferring to rest up in the safety provided in trees and off the ground. Ground pop-up tents are so much cheaper but don’t appease to those ‘roots’. Fair Winds.
I have a ground tent myself, meeting up with friends and watching them set up in 20 seconds is probably the biggest advantage. The simplicity of setup and take down really is that much of a difference.
I love my Ticla Mojave ground tent. 7 minutes to set up and super strong and comfy. I can stand up and change clothes and in case of emergency, I jump on my truck and drive away…

Sht talker here, I like the flush cab route.

Yeah like less than half the price of an exped lol
Cool tent! So many features....love the overhang! Nice job!

Thanks for watching!
I got the aspen lite. Please do a comparison video 🙏🏽
Another great product and review

of course it also offers large room rtt, like High country V2 king,
Nice truck 👍🏾
Very nice
Can you put load up top? Maybe a roof rack or bicycle?
Talon, appreciate all your on-site into all that you do. Any concerns of being in a roof top tent during thunderstorms or high wind situations?

I would move inside my vehicle during a lightning storm. I definietly would not want to be inside a RTT.
Do you have an updated discount code by chance? Choosing between this or the Roofnest.

Would this tent fit on a 2024 TRD Off Road short bed? Would I have to install it above the cab roof because it's long?
Above cab it would work great.
So I know you have the access cab. When you say “one size fits most” , would it hang over the edge of the short bed Tacoma when closed?
You can run it on a cab heigh rack like most people do with tents this length 👍🏻
So yes? 😂
What happens to all these test tents? Does Free Spirit sell them at a discount?
I believe this is the tent that they keep for more testing / photos videos and other media purposes.
Anyone know what kind of inflatable pillow that is? It looks really nice!
Pretty cool, but seems a bit pricey.
Song Name Please?
fits most... except 99% of tacoma's with the short bed
Cab height rack. Boom 💥 fits a short bed.
No way that thing does not absolutely bake in the summer sun, no ty
They got aircond inside the tent ma dude 🤘🏻😂
So the ladder doesn’t store inside tent??
You can, I just like to keep it in my bed since the ladder gets dirty.
so you need to climb up on your truck in order to get the ladder you need to open your tent?
Anyone know what bag is on Talon’s spare tire?
It’s the Oscar bag from last bag co
