- Deep in the woods of Charlestown, Rhode Island, overlooking a picturesque lake flanked by firepits and farm animals, there's a one of a kind restaurant with a buffet that's simply mind-blowing.The Nordic is a family owned and operated destination where a meal is almost mythological. We're talking unlimited lobster. Crab. Black Angus steaks. Cakes, pies, and ice cream sundaes. All together, there are more than a hundred high end items, and that's only part of the entire Nordic experience.

Yep! 2 lobsters and a plate of oysters are over $100 anywhere else! Here, you can have as many as you can handle!
It's a lodge too tho so can u sleep the night if visiting from far away?

I think Rhode Island has the BEST food....... PERIOD and from any ethnicity. I'on know what it is. I now live in PA. The food is good but Rhody make it pop. Smh
Amazing place. Worth every penny and then some. I have been a Chef for 32 years and this place blows the doors off any place I’ve ever seen. I thought the staff would get in your way and try to slow you down in every way possible to limit consumption. Quite the opposite actually. No games , no ploys, just amazing hospitality. To Hell with Disney folks, the Nordic Lodge is the happiest place on Earth bar none.
For $111 a head and 2 hour limit y'all better not get in my way and keep those filets pumping out! 😆

@@juliuscaesart I believe it’s $135 per person now but that includes tax and tip. Still well worth it imo. If you go enjoy every 120 minutes. I can’t wait to go back.

Yes, but literally impossible to eat enough for that price tag to be any kind of "deal" (which buffets are typically known for).

My fiancé and I saw the purple and black Phantom Gourmet car on Sunday when we came (drove in from MD). I was wondering if another segment was being filmed. This place is worth every penny. It’s ran like a well oiled machine by well trained helpful and polite individuals. He’s right, it’s a total experience. We spent well beyond the two hours here dining. Just the best buffet experience hands down. We’ve decided to make it a once a year date.
Yes, it’s pricey, but definitely worth it! Went there last summer for the first time, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

I would like to take credit for the two hour limit. Back in the 80’s my friends and l would go and eat till we were almost comatose. Then hang out till we got hungry again. Lol.
Do they heavy enforce the 2 hour limit? If they do it might not be worth it.

Nor worth it I've gone every year they aren't doing that great. They have to have buses come in from other states for business. Any sane person would go to somewhere else. Unless you're really going to eat enough

it used to be called The Nordic Lodge. i miss the food back there. Twin Oaks, Cafe Itri, The Big Cheese, & Campanella's were a few of my all time favorites.
It sure was Nordic Lodge!! I soooooooo miss the fooooooood 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂. Everyone that's moved away from there all miss the food. I was at The Big Cheese almost once a week. Their huge salad with house dressing and fresh baked bread, omgoodness. Crugnale's.......( I need a minute)......
Smh. The pizza strips, broccoli pizza, spinach pizza, spinach garlic and black olive calzones, breads and pepper biscuits, I was in there almost once a week.... the Chinese food too. That's a dayumm shame

$125 for the buffet is still cheaper than Nusr-et. The two hour time limit is no problem. If you can eat longer than two hours you need a psychologist and not a buffet.
Was there several times in the late 70s and early 80s when it was Custy's located in North Kingston. Haven't been to the Nordic yet but plan to at some point in the future. I wonder if it's the same family that ran Custys?

I’m 20 minutes away in CT and never heard of this place. I don’t do buffets, but am I correct in understanding you have to be out in two hours? Just curious.
Very much so correct. I'm disgusted how whenever the place is covered it's never mentioned. I felt rushed and didn't even need 2 hours but was *always afraid they'd come over to tell us TIME TO GO.* ;

A buffet would be nice,especially if space time and good organisations is of concern.
I have been here at least ten times in my life. Each time I go back is better than the last. After you eat here, every other buffet, including those on the best cruise ships, will pale in comparison. That is the only bad part about eating here. All other buffets will be a HUGE disappointment afterward. It is quite simply the VERY best that this planet has to offer as far as buffets are concerned. You will need a good road map though. If you are coming from Connecticut, you will find yourself making turns that are sometimes frustrating. The roads getting there are VERY tricky. Once you find it though, you will thank your lucky stars. When I first started going, the price was around $40.00/person. Now, it is over $100.00/person and it is WELL worth it. I have never heard of even ONE person complain about the price though. You will see why after you go.

I remember years back when it was like $75 that was totally worth it, even the $100 now is worth it. Last time me and my buddy went and got all stoned in the parking lot then ate our asses off for 2 hours.... I could barely move on the way home I was like food drunk

The food is delicious. But I think it's a shame all that you pay that you can't take food home. More food gets wasted because people can't take food home.

Lobster is overcooked, desserts are not made by them selves. so....

I just don't like over cooked lobster. the lobster texture is like rubber. what do you expect? it is lobster buffet. you can eat unlimited over cooked lobsters for two hours.

young c thomas paik I am a Chef and I had a great experience. No rubber on my plate. Everything was top notch. You are probably one of those people who like to whine about everything just to be heard. Make it the Nordic or ..... make it yourself.
