Something this video and other videos, and even other boards don’t tell you is to turn a timer off. For example, if you have more than one timer, set to turn any timer off, set the start and stop times to the same exact time for example 3 AM start 3 AM stop and that will turn the timer off.
Go into your timers menu to the Timer you want "Off" Set your End Time to the same as your Start Time then press Menu. After you press menu the timer should read "Off"
@@danajustice9536 I FEEL LIK THE TIMER IS THE BIGGEST ISSUE WITH THIS PUMP AND HEYWARD SEEMS TO BE CLOSED UNTIL WEDNESDAY "DUE TO THE JULY 4TH HOLIDAY" BUT EVEN TODAY THATS A DAY BEFORE SO I CANT ASK THEM
That is a great tutorial! Just installed on a customer's pool, we always use Pentair. But this customer was insisted on Hayward. And as usual the instruction book is miserable. This made programming very easy!
If the pump loses power (power outage in the area), does it lose it's settings or is there a battery backup on the motherboard? I'd hate to do this every time we lose power in Florida! In my are we lose power at least once or twice a month... sometimes just for a minute or two for whatever reason. Then of course thunderstorms and the occasional hurricane! Or even if I have to kill power to my pool breaker box to do some work.
If there is a power outage/interruption is there any internal battery so programmed functions will continue once power is restored? Or will I need to reprogram?
How do you hear a pool with the timers set. My pump is scheduled to drop speed at night and will not hear my pool without deleting timers. Is there a way to override the timers so that I can heat my pool for say 24 - 72 hours?
How do I schedule a timer to turn the pump off completely for one hour? I didn't see an option for turning the pump off for an allotted time, only options to set the RPM between 600 and 3250.
Thank you for the detailed instructions. I have a shock I want to put in the pool (ducks - need I say more?). But I don’t know how to set it for a one time run of 24 hours. Can you please let me know? Thank you!!
I checked the manual for this feature but couldn't find anything resembling this function. The Quick Clean feature tops out at 60 minutes; you can't alter the runtime. You may need to adjust one of the presets to run the desired RPM and schedule length.
Hello you guys make great informative videos for sure . Can you use a Hayward W3SP2303VSP in a 15,000 gal pool ? My pool guy said you need a high head pump not a low head . What is the difference ? I have a Hayward Pool Vac W32025ADC pool sweep . Thanks again .
Thank you! First, ask your pool tech what the estimated 'feet of head' of the system is because the W3SP2303VS should be enough for most 15k gallon pools. The feet of head is the measurement of plumbing resistance that your pump would need to overcome to prime itself and pump water. Most pools are in the medium-head category
I was hoping to learn how to turn pump on when it is off and how to turn it off while it is on. I have been frustrated with this, so to clean the filter I have to wait till it goes off at 7:30pm or before it goes on at 9am
There's no 24-hour override on this model like the Century V-Green. Your best option is to alter one of your schedules to run the desired clean cycle speed.
@@Inyopools Ok, so if I want to crank up the spa on the late night after the day cycle is completed, I can simply on/off the pump using the "Quick Clean" button?
hello thank you for the great video now i know about the low temp setting can you tell me how to turn off a timer? I can not find that option thank you
Nice instructions!, Thank You! For some reason on my pump (Hayward Super pump VS 230v. MODEL W3SP2603VSP) there is no option to adjust the duration under speeds menu - preset speeds. It will allow me to change the speed but not duration. It will just run until the next timer is scheduled. Wish I was able to adjust duration.
So if the timer is set and you push a speed button does the speed button override the timer? When the speed is engaged for X hours does it revert back to programmed timers after that?
The speed button would override the programmed speed within that schedule. It would still turn off at the scheduled time and the next time the pump turns on, it will revert back to the original programmed speed.
how do I set it up to run for 24hrs, sometimes my pool company says add these chemicals and run for 24hrs. But I don't see anywhere in the manual to explain this?
How do you clear a timer setting to off? Nothing anywhere says how to do that. Previous owner had crazy settings and I don't need it running like that.
Hi I have a 9000 gallon medium size pool. What speed should I set for for high and low? My husband passed away recently and I am trying to set pump up and my pump works all day on a low speed. I want to set it to run on high for a certain time and then to a lower speed. What do you recommend?
Donna you need to have your pump run on a high, medium and low speed through the day. The real answer depends on how big your pool is and the equipment. Roughing it though I’d say you should have 3 hours on the high, 9hours medium then then the remaining 12 hours on low. That high speed allows for water movement and what ever sanitation you use to get through the pool, along with the medium speed. Good luck, sorry for your loss
How do I temporarily turn the pump on, while it is NOT in the programmed time mode? (Eg.. I have it programmed to shut off at 6pm. But I want to turn it back on at 7pm for a few minutes, etc). Thank you.
Did you ever get and answer for this? My pump is programed to shutdown at 6pm sometimes we want to use it outside of the programed hours but I don't know how to manually turn it on without changing the timer. There has to be an on/off button somewhere on this pump.
I just bout the VS700. When setting the Speed buttons, there is no option to set the duration. I can change the speed and the name of the button, but that's it. Am I missing something?
When Low Temp Mode is activated the pump will run at the Max Allowed Speed for 8 hours. If the temperature is still at or below the Low Temp Setting at the end of the 8-hour cycle, it will begin again.
I have a 14k gallon pool with a sand filter and pop ups for cleaning. What would be the best RPM for cleaning the pool? If set too high, will I ruin or wear out parts, seals, etc.? The manual is not very helpful. Thanks.
Maximum speed settings are really dependent upon the pool and pump. For example, I have a 1.5HP VS pump with a cartridge filter that can handle 120 gpm. Running the pump at full speed does not damage anything. However, if you have a 2.7VS pump with 1.5" plumbing and a filter that can only handle 80 gpm, you may have issues. My recommendation would be to add a simple flow meter to the plumbing. That way you can determine how many gallons per minute are created at each speed. Then you can look at the flow rate of your filter and pop-ups and select the appropriate speed setting. This may not be exactly the answer you wanted, but with pools there are so many variables.
Not sure if you answer questions,.. But what could be the cause of the screen not powering up and the pump not turning on? I turned the pool breaker off and when I turned it back on , the pump and screen do not turn on. My multimeter shows that it's getting power, but nothing is working. The pull cleaner pump works but not the main pump (Tristar VS 950)
Water could have shorted the board or failed due to sun exposure being the usual culprit. If your pump is still under warranty, Hayward should replace that free of charge.
The low temp run speed will default to the Max allowed speed. There isn't currently a way to change the RPM specifically for the low temperature feature. If you don't have a need for the Max to be 3450, you can drop that RPM setting.
@@Inyopools Thanks. My pool tech guy said we (Tucsonians) don't need to Enable the low temp setting due to the fact that the pipe is 2.5" dia., and the cold spells don't last long enough. So for now I just disabled it.

That sounds like more of a circuitry concern than a pump problem. If you've tested the pump side's terminal lead and get no voltage readings, then I'd start at the breaker and work your way down. You could maybe try putting the pump on a different breaker to narrow down whether it is the breaker or the wiring.
