    Are you still liking the SHINKO 244’s? Did the vibration ever go away? What tubes are you running in them and at what pressure? Thanks for all the information videos!!😊

      @roberteddy1951 The Shinko 244 is my favorite "cheap" dual sport tire! I love them. The vibration has lessened with mileage (about 2,000 miles on the 244's now). They are my go-to budget tire for a true 50/50 tire (They are 50/50 IMO anyway).
      The tube brand and size info I used are in the tire installation videos (they were correct for the new tire sizes). I run different pressures for different applications. For general 50/50 use and highway travel, I run what Honda suggests for max weight (22F and 29R). For off-road trails, I like 18 front and 26 rear for my weight.

    Hello again, Mish and Mash! 😅 I was able to get the bike started! Simply a matter of following the cold start procedure in the owner's manual. That involved full choke plus partial throttle when hitting the starter button. As soon as it fires up, take the choke down to 1/2, then, after 15 seconds, down to no choke. Continue to gently operate the throttle during the warm-up period. So sorry to have posted to you asking for more than you've already given!

      No problem and glad you got it started! 👍🏼👍🏼

    Folks: Thank you AGAIN for more very helpful hard work and information re: the Honda XL150. I follow everything you folks do re: the XL150, especially in light of your extensive experience on/with the bike and your career, Sir, as an aviation mechanic. I ordered a set of these last fall, but I didn't get around to installing them yet as the stock "CST" brand tires, are still fine. Question: Do you think IRC Heavy Duty, 3mm thick, inner tubes will work with this setup? Thanks again for the extensive library of videoes on this bike! Honda could use reps like you on their payroll!

      Your welcome and thanks for following us. Yes, the IRC tubes should fit just fine but they are thicker and heavier than the stock tubes. TR4 and TR6 Valve stems should both work.

    Love your videos MishMashMoto. Are the Shinko tires enough better to justify switching to them now? I have only 100 miles on XR150L. I'm a 50/50 mix of riding highway & logging roads. Tnx

      We chose to get the good out of our stock tires. If you're not having any issues, I would suggest waiting. Tires are really all about personal choice, skill level, terrain, budget, and ridding style.

    Hi again folks! Boy, I feel terrible because I'm leaning on you as hard as I am for guidance on this bike! However, I just went out to start it up for the first time this year. It's been stored in a waterproof shed all winter on a trickle charger. It does have plenty of crank and it does turn over and begin to idle, but it does not stay running no matter what setting I have the choke on. My dealership is closed today, but I wanted to ask you folks if you have any suggestions. It started up perfectly every single time last riding season with basically a half a push of the starter button, no choke. I did put gas stabilizer in it before storing. I'm going to try draining all the gas next and putting in some fresh stuff, but I don't think that's the issue. All of my other gas equipment is running fine with the same gas; 90 octane, no ethanol.

      It’s probably not your fuel. Did you run the bike with the stabilizer fuel or just add it to the tank without running it for a few minutes? You probably have a stuck float or possibly clogged jet in the carb. Try this first. Tap on the side of the carb. with the plastic end of a screwdriver or similar item to try and free up the float, turn the fuel valve to the opposite position (“on” or “reserve”) to reduce the chance of no fuel flow and make sure there is fuel in the tank. Try to restart the bike and keep it running. If this also fails, open the carb. bowl drain screw and see if you have fuel running steady for more than 10 seconds. Report back to me.

      Sir: It turns out that I simply needed to follow the Owner's Manual instructions for cold weather starting. I detailed those steps in another response, but it required full choke, partial throttle, depressing starter button, moving choke to 1/2 position immediately after start for 15 seconds, then moving choke to off position. Pretty embarassing actually! But, seriously, Honda would be wise to put you and your wife on the payroll! Thanks again! You folks have a stopover at my place in Rochester, NY if you're ever out this way!@@MishMashMoto

    I'm having trouble finding 110/90-17 also crazy I'm having issues like that on my stock tires at about 45mph lol there's a bit of a wobble 😅 are these tires stock size and am I going to have to modify the bike? I was worried I would have to get new rims then re do tires

    • @MishMashMoto
      @MishMashMoto  Месяц назад

      @@13194dragon They are close to the stock tire sizes. They fit on the motorcycle with no modifications or clearance issues. Good tire option for the XR150L.

    Have you tryed the shinko big blocks .thats what I’m testing and on the road it feels like a street tire .but off road u still get plenty of bite.and because of the big blocks I think it will last a long time

      I have run the Shinko 241, 244, 700, and 705 in the past on my enduros ("dual sports" for the younger guys). I have not yet tried the Shinko 804/805 big block tires yet.

    What seat pad/cushions are you running on the xr150l ?

    • @MishMashMoto
      @MishMashMoto  4 месяца назад

      It's a Coleman Madog ATV/UTV seat pad. Bought from Amazon but you used to find them at Wal-Mart also. Might be discontinued now 🤷‍♂️

    Unfortunately, with Shinkos, you will get an occasional one to be out of round. I had that with my last tire change on the Hawk when changing to 705s.

      As the saying goes, “you get what you pay for”. Overall, Shinko tires have been good to me over the years. I believe they are based in South Korea.

    At first I thought this was your bike & as such, if it carried you well then it would handle my needs too. But I guess this is
    your wife's bike & I'm only 5'6" @ 170 so I'm assuming this bike will carry me just fine? I'm still looking hard so thanks for
    the updates, the money is a driving factor in my choice. peace

      Yep, We both ride the bikes together. Your weight of 170 and 5'6" size should be no problem for this bike at all. It has a 311lb load rating. Expect a cruise speed of 50-55 MPH.

      I appreciate it & I'm already trying to figure out how to get around w/o the Interstate here... lol, this bike is looking
      better/better for the monetary aspect! I can almost buy one outright & no payment will be the way to go but I am
      guessing that I'll need $500-$700 extra for tags/title, ect. That's more time to watch your videos & thanks again.
      peace & ride safe.
