- You hear mostly mixed things about Ethiopian Airlines, but what exactly are their strenghts and weaknesses? We flew on them from South Africa via Addis Ababa to Europe to find out where Ethiopian excells and where there's still room for improvement.

Waw i fly with you from south Africa to vienna that was awsome. But i don't understand the way you write the time. If the departure from south Africa was 3:19 is that AM or PM? I am Sure you depart from South Africa 3:19 PM so then you arrived in Addis 8:17 PM in the evening. So what I am not understand hear is again you depart from Addis to Vienna at 11:59 PM so what does it mean you arrived in Vienna at 14:41 ? Did you mean 2:41AM ? which country local time is 14:41? And are you from Austria?

I flew with Ethiopian airlines from Toronto to Addis Ababa in 2013 and loved it. I was so proud of an African airline representing my motherland. I'd do it again.

I’ve taken them many times. There’s a reason my they have been profitable for almost every year if their existence. Wonderful airline and on par, if not above, many European airlines. In terms of service.

Back in the 1950s and 1960s, TWA advised Ethiopian Airlines. The chicken and rice on the Cape Town-Addis Ababa flight looked tempting, as well as the spaghetti and meat sauce on the flight to Vienna. The takeoff rolls looked short on both flights.

I enjoyed watching your report of both flights. Ethiopian Airlines' service seems to be pretty good. I didn't expect that Addid Abeba Airport would be so busy. They must have a lot of passengers from China? As everything is translated in Chinese as well. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!

Addis airport looks TXL. If they ever want to build a new one, we have some very competent architects and companies to help ;-)
Marcus Fey New airport CITY (airport with shopping malls, hotels, etc) is planned outside Addis Ababa. Current one is going through an expansion to double capacity, opens in September (quick fix). Luxury problems is that EA is growing too quick, Bole airport can’t keep up.

Why don't you just fly from Vienna to Addis? Travel around Ethiopia and see its historical and religious influence in the ancient world, see the Ethiopian Highlands, and have coffee since Ethiopia is where coffee was first discovered. Take some domestic flights around the country with Ethiopian Airlines 737's and dash q400's. I love your videos!
Nathan Ayele I flew from Addis to Malawi (I’m from the states) and I actually loved it. Getting off the nice 737-8 and walking down the stairs onto a tarmac that can fit one plane and walking (yes walking) Into the tiny terminal in Lilongwe. Very cool experience

Is this the only airline that has ever switched from GE to RR on the 787s? Air New Zealand and ANA have switched from RR to GE for obvious reasons and now ET is switching back to GE for the same reason, but is there any other airline that has ever switched from GE to RR like ET did in 2015?

There isn’t that much of a demand for the a380. I flew from Newark to Addis and they didn’t even have a full flight. There just isn’t a need for that type of aircraft.

Such a shame Addis Ababa's airport is so substandard. I'm flying the same route to Addis, but I have to stop over for 12 hours. I'll be travelling to Zanzibar and then back to Cape Town. The stopover on the way back is also 12 hours. I will probably find a hotel to stay the night as I heard the lounges at the airport are horrible.
