I’m buying this bike from my neighbor who also does reviews, I got a really good deal too, $300. 10 years ago I rode a no name e-bike in Israel and I can’t wait to get back on the road! thanks for this review!
Super, I'm glad I saw this! I'm well over two hundred pounds and did not know about the 1000 watt motor until I saw this. Much happier now with added features and power!
As of my posting, and I was just at the HeyBike site, They have the option to buy this one (750W/1400peak/80nm motor/Cadence), or one for $200 more, with a 1000W/1800peak/100nm motor, and a *torque sensor* , I did not notice any other differences.
I appreciate your review style. We can read the spec's but you provide a real world, just messin' around ride style review. Which is probably what most of us do. Also mostly full throttle, which I also think most of us do unless we live in a totally flat, traffic-less area. Suppose I should speak for myself, but... Thanks.
Thanks 🙏 yes I think this how most ride these cruiser style fat e-bikes, basically like a 1hp motorcycle really (750w = 1hp) We are the modern day cowboys 😆
Thanks again Matt, another well made video with everything you need to know. I love the design and look and was hoping it would check off more boxes. Like the 4amp charger and adequate brakes. The app had some nice useful features but not enough torque killed it for me. I’m 6’3”, 200 lbs. if I were to carry any additional weight I don’t think it’ll have enough power. For a smaller person maybe it could work. Enjoy the memorial weekend Matt.
I'm thinking of getting one of these for the upcoming riding season in the spring. I've been looking for a bike that can fit in my car so I can take it riding wherever I want. I like that this bike is capable of carrying up to 400 pounds and that's just perfect for me since I'm a heavier rider. I do plan on getting the 1000w version, though. That one is equipped with a torque sensor and has a top speed of up to 32 MPH. I'm not sure what color I'd want to get. I might get the gray or the red one.
Costco sells those survival kits. Scooters or e-bikes should be an important part of that. Heybike is a reputable company with certified components however I would recommend a bike sized fire extinguisher
Only watched the 1st minute so far but I paused it because I just gotta comment on 5A charging. My battery in my fat tire bike also said it can take up to 5A even though it says to ONLY use the provided charger (which is 2A). It's perfectly okay to go by what the battery says. I charge mine with my high power buck converter. I set the voltage limit on it to 54.6V and the CC (constant current, or current limit) to 5A and it works beautifully, charging quickly. Battery doesn't get hot and it will only charge until it's done and not overcharge.
Are the plugs for the headlight, display and throttle external? Or does the cable go directly into the bike frame? It looked like from the video that the plugs were external, hard to tell. I want to install a safety system that consists of two cameras mounted on the front and rear of the bike. I think I can pull power from the display cable. I am curious if it’s a Julet 5-pin cable that is running to the handlebar mounted lcd/led display. Thanks for the how to video, super informative!
Hey Matt, you may have figured this out by now but in the event that you haven't, I learned from another review video that the AUTO button turns your headlight on and off. Knowing nothing about e-bikes, I am still in the review stage before purchasing. Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated. Happy 4th!
Thank you for honest review, like the APP and looking, but I found a similar folding ebike from Ecotric, 48 volt 500 watt. the current price is almost half of this bike, not sure how to choose lol.
Hello Heybike, I am wondering how hard it would be for someone to steal a battery ???? But, I saw a key for a lock, so I am hoping the key and lock are to lock the bike's battery !!!
Hmm, I wonder.. at 32mph with a throttle, some states might classify this as a motorcycle or 50cc scooter. The turn signals might help in those states if someone needs to get it registered and plated...
Hi- quick suggestion on an e-bike I think you should reivew. It's called the SB Thunder. Its $2750 and it can go 45mph. It has a rear 3000w motor & a 48v 31amp battery. You could also choose a 5000w or 8000w motor with a 72v battery. It can go like 35 miles on full throttle + it looks sick. Its also off $300 for memorial day so you can get it out the door for $2,450 rn which is crazy. I just orderd my today and I think it's coming in like a month. Great reivew as always btw!
No. The auto is for automatic power to the lights so you can leave auto on and the lights off and they will still turn on after a certain time or darkness
Love your videos as usual. Can you do me a favor though? Looks like you have an iPhone. can you measure the grade of your garage incline using the native measure -> level app? I’m looking for a reasonably priced full suspension ebike with good torque for off road use. Preferably 3” tires or less.
Thanks. I just measured it with the iPhone app and it shows 11°, which converts, almost exactly to 20% grade, which I actually measured by hand with a ruler and a level back in the day when I established this route 😆 I didn’t even think to use the iPhone app but I’m glad that it verifies my calculation.
Is it possible to ship it on airplane in the package if not i need advice please how can I ship this bike from Seattle Washington to East Africa please if you have any information thank you.😊😊😊
This looks very much like the "actbest ranger". They main differences being the actbest is about 900 bucks, only had cable disk brakes, and has spoked wheels. Top speed of 28MPH (throttle only) is the same as is the exact same battery pack.
Seems like cars barely see my whole ass body, i doubt they'd see a blinker but I think it would help if you are in traffic and a cop sees you shifting around and actually using a blinker, they'd likely have less chance to bother you. Another thing, I would love to see someone test how much force it would take to snap that handlebar "stem".. That sucker is LONG and I am concerned about the potential flex or breaking of the bar that holds the handlebars... P.S. I did subscribe because I am 6'2" and ride in sand and everything as well and you test consistently for all bikes equally, which is a huge 4 thumbs up.. Thanks. I am actually stuck between the Lectric 3.0 and the "Heybike" brand. I will be riding it 5 days a week about 22 miles round trip, at dark.
I’d get the stone blue seen in this video… or maybe the metallic sand, it looks retro vibes mustard but futuristic too. Hope this helps 😜. Flip a coin and let us know what you order 😉
Rule of thumb for range estimates: Cut them in half, if you pedal all the time. On throttle only, about 30 percent. Good news - this means your ebike will be great for getting that quick bag of groceries, or that medium ride with no worries! Always plug it it when you get back!
The weight is listed on the website linked below the video. I’d guess high 60 lbs-ish. You could use throttle to roll it up stairs but even Arnold Schwarzenegger wouldn’t wanna carry this up stairs.
Make video on assembly? I have brain cancer and I have limited muscle coordination on my left side. I need a a slow more detailed assembly instruction. If you can help, I really appreciate it. I have glioblastoma.
Basically. it’s prettier than most and charges fast, and a few other unique things. This video shows and tells the full experience for those looking to grab one who don’t have the opportunity to see or ride it in person.
@@TailHappyTVyes, Great video! The design about as few other brand as they use about the same frame but fitting someone 6'5 is impressing and 4 Ah charger never saw in any of the ebikes in past . Doe it have fan?
@@TailHappyTV your platform rocks! Keep it up!✌ oh.. I was going to suggest maybe get a friend or girlfriend to do a little ride and show someone under 5'9" on the bike. Maybe get a random stranger to just check it out😂 But not the bike thief dude.😳
Do you think the app should be asking you for your phones location and access calling authority just to use the app? What do either of those permissions have to do with a Bluetooth app connecting to your phone? I don't like nosey people or companies. How about you?
Buyer beware! Its been almost two months since I submitted for a warranty claim that they said that they would honor and I still dont have the part that I requested. If you purchase a bike from this company you are potentially going to be left with a one hundred pound paper weight with wheels.
100% agree. Heybike customer service sucks. I bought mine through Amazon. I found you'll get better customer service through them because Amazon is watching! Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw with these Chinese manufacturers. They generally make some nice bikes, but they are slow to respond to problems because they are in China. You'll often wait 24-48 hours for a single response to email and there's no phone number. If you buy one, be extra careful not to mess up the box it shipped in. This makes it impossible to ship back to them if you cut it up when unpacking the bike.
🚨BUYER BEWARE 🚨My heybike ranger ($1200 ebike) battery died completely after 170 miles. Battery no longer holds a charge. Complete brick and customer service won’t help. I would not buy a HeyBike.
DONT BUY FROM HEY BIKE!!!!!! they use fedex and don't hold up any of the delivery dates. im on the 4th day in two weeks they said it would be delivered and not only will fedex not help me get my package but after calling heybikes phone number they tell me its not actually customer service and someone named kevin would call me back for customer service. its been over a week and no phone call or bike. ive included screenshots of the times it said it would be there "today". even a text from fedex demanding saying i have to be there to sign just for me to be told by fed ex actually maybe in another two days. customer service at heybike doesnt even exist. its all a money grab!!!!!
