- "Gamecocks Talk with Captain Will" provides the latest updates and insights on the South Carolina Women's Basketball team, including recruitment news and more. The three-time NCAA National Champions look to defend their title this upcoming season.
I delve into why Oregon State opted out of playing the Gamecocks on opening night in Las Vegas! We also discuss where South Carolina stands in recruiting.
The women's college basketball season kicks off with a game against the Michigan Women's Basketball team in Las Vegas on November 4th. Led by Head Coach Dawn Staley, the team boasts dynamic players such as Raven Johnson, Bree Hall, Chloe Kitts, and Ashlyn Watkins, with strong support from the bench, including MiLaysia Fulwiley, Tessa Johnson, and Sania Feagin. Fresh faces Maryam Dauda, Joyce Edwards, Maddy McDaniel, and Adhel Tac promise to bolster the team's prospects for the season.

38 /0 HOW BOUT THEM SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!🤣
I believe they left because there division left to go the big ten and Oregon St. stayed.

True the Sky’s guards are always late getting the ball inside. Milla could easily have 8 - 12 points more per game.
oregon state dont have no players worth playing..especially a stacked south carolina team..what purpose does it serve😂
Oregon St didn't want that smoke
What happened was that Oregon state ended up going to the mountain west conference. A weak conference and their better players did not want to play in a weak conference so they left. Had nothing to do with the loss to SC. Would Oregon state want to play SC in Vegas? Why would they? That wouldn’t even be a game. Would SC want to play a team that lost all their players. That wouldn’t even be a game. U can compare them to SC because they don’t bring in the players that SC brings in through recruiting or through the portal. Now if it had been like UCLA or LSU or UConn that turn SC down then I can understand. But not Oregon state.
I agree 100% but you know South Carolina thinks everyone is scared of them so there's that 😂 For a long time they past the narrative around that it was USC who dodge them
@@curtisjermaine962as they should be after last season!!🤣 Man that undefeated championship run really shook you guys!😂🤣😊🤪
@@CarsoTM-m9o Nobody got shook by South Carolina championship out West 😂🤣 We don't think much of South Carolina at all tbh in a bad way but apparently USC is heavy on ppl from South Carolina's mind even after going 38-0
@@curtisjermaine962 now that's funny....out west!!!!🤭🤣 You do realized that the Natty is a national title right?!🤔 We took your collective best shot and Still got it done. You guys didn't even make the elite eight so what are we even talking here.🤷♀️
@@CarsoTM-m9o Good for you! I still don't get why USC stays on Gamecoacks mouths 🤷🏾♂️ Fyi: USC made the Elite 8
I feel like the Oregon State players left because of the change in their conference affiliation. They signed NLI’s to play in a Power 5 conference, not the West Coast Conference. A conference with less resources, reach, and opportunities for exposure. Taking all of that into consideration, I see why the top players transferred out.
I don’t understand why Taliha Scott went to Auburn, a worse team talent wise. She will just end up transferring again after one season w tigers
Facts I wondered the same thing

Yep. She made a big mistake and even said she wanted to elevate a program. Auburn is not where you do that. It’s even more so a mistake based on her recruiting class. She’ll be in the portal at the end of her junior year
Cap I think we getting Divine and Agot.
Oregon State is a shell of themselves right now. Carolina would be them by 50 points right now.
What happened to the PAC-12 as far as womens basketball is unfortunate but not unprecedented. Check out ESPN's 30 for 30 "Requiem for the Big East" from 2014. College football at that time destroyed the most vibrant men's basketball conference in the nation. History sadly repeating itself.
Lauren Jacobs from Heathwood is a top 100 player I think she has a chance to be a stud
South Carolina still dosen't get the credit they deserve they're not being talked-about its been an incredible season after season #Gamecocks
I was excited about going to Vegas until I realized it was the same weekend as Homecoming... I couldn't make both work, so I will be cheering from Columbia.
😂😂I didn’t even realize it’s the same weekend Dee Dee 🫡
Raven to Chicago would be a defensive juggernaut. They would just need a knock down shooter after her.
I think Crump ensures Chavez stays home. Vic Schaefer is a heck of a coach and always plays us tough. It will be interesting to watch how it all unfolds over the next few years
Captain, they don't want NO SMOKE!😂How do you feel about TSpoon benching our girl on Sunday? Smh
Ive heard several times that Adhel is 6'6"... we'll see Captain!
So sorry to Michigan. Starting the season off with a massive blowout is no fun
Great episode Captain Will! Appreciate all you do sir!
@Elite at the time the game was agreed upon Oregon St was on its way to an elite 8 team.
Hey CW!🎉
