- The island of South Georgia located near the bottom of the world in freezing Antarctic waters is one of the most inhospitable and remote places on planet Earth. No humans live here permanently. Conditions are just too harsh. It is also the scene of one of the greatest survival and rescue stories of all time. And although it happened 100 years ago, it still carries a message of hope that's relevant in our modern age.

I watched this today on my tv. I found it to be very special and inspiring presentation of the subject of shakelton and his expedition. I would like to make one comment which wasn’t mentioned in the video but it is part of the actual book endurance.
When shakelton and his crew realised that the ship was doomed, they went inside to get things which may be useful to them for survival. However, they also needed to consider the weight as the plan was to walk as much as they could. Amongst the things shakelton went back for was a bible. He thought very hard if to take the bible or leave it there. Finally, his decision was to find psalm 23 and rip that particular page. He carried it with him all the way to the whaling station and even when he arrived to rescue the rest of his men left behind in elephant island.
Thank you for this presentation. Really enjoyed it. And I recommend reading the book.

Amazing true story ! -- I am amazed by the trust they have for Sir Shackleton, they entrusted their lives in him and cling firmly to his words .. If Shackleton, a mere mortal can be trusted and gave everything he got just to rescue his men, he never gave up nor his men .. How much more do we trust in Jesus words and promises ~ no matter how long we seem to think it will take, HE WILL RETURN ! HE WILL ! We too, should never give up ..

Reminds me of " The Hope We Have In Jesus " and "His Gracious Salvation ". His love of Creation can be seen in the World & Animals. Thank you for another great video.
