Documentary: • The Eddsworld Legacy (...
It's confusing to try and figure out how to watch the series if you haven't before, since pieces are scattered across different places. My recommendation is start on Newgrounds at the bottom of 2007 and watch up. Skip any collaborations that are clearly not part of Eddsworld. When you get to 2012, switch to RUclips for the new animations because most aren't on Newgrounds.

This video is great for two reasons:
    1. Thee positive message about not putting off telling your stories because of a lack of confidence in you own artistic capabilities.
    2. It's about Eddsworld.
Seriously, as someone who has way too many ideas for visual stories that I want to tell and a huge Eddsworld fan, this episode was very welcome.
Also, I never knew that the series had so many big names in its voice cast! The more you know, I suppose!

thank you so damn much for making this. you covered so many amazing points that most, especially new, eddsworld fans and general members of the animation community tend to overlook.
It actually never crossed my mind that "edd made more in his short time than most people make in their entire lives" and that kinda hit me like a brick. It truly makes me want to pick myself up off the floor and start working on everything I've been putting off for years. Edd has always been a huge inspiration to me and through you I think he has become moreso. Definitely my favorite scribble kibble. Eddsworld needed more appreciation for it's beginnings and what it means as a whole.

    • @DBD120
      @DBD120 3 года назад

@That Paztel Berri Yeah, it was a bit of a tough pill to swallow, but I finally realized drawing wasn't for me and that I really didn't enjoy the process at all. However, I have a lot of appreciation for the craft now. Animators really are a different breed of patient.

    • @DBD120
      @DBD120 3 года назад

@That Paztel Berri Oh, one more thing while I'm at it. A bit of advice: Don't be overly critical of your work. By that I mean if the only critique that you can "objectively" give of your own work is that it's bad, you should really try to get into a different state of mind about it. All I did was get frustrated when I looked at mine and now every I think about drawing for myself I am usually filled with hatred.

I've always wanted to make cartoons and comics the same way I see so many of my favorite artists doing, but having severe depression has destroyed a lot of my enjoyment in my hobbies. It's really hard to distinguish if it's the illness talking or if I actually don't enjoy something anymore, but this video made me relive my love of Edsworld (which i hadn't seen in years) and was a good reminder that the same passion I felt back then might still be here after all. I'm not sure if that makes me happy or sad knowing it's just being wasted, but at the very least, it's a source of hope I desperately need right now. Thanks, Prince.

almost everyone in this comment section
says that they are inspired by the note near the end
      ...
yes.. it is inspirational.. i got inspired to..
but sadly.. nowadays people make their own animatons, ocs
      etc.. related to art
you know why your "art" isn't gonna be popular?
      because
if you are one in 1 million people who animates in youtube
people will STILL watch the most popular ones.
well.. you CAN still get popular... BUT ITS BASED ON LUCK PEOPLE.
for example: staariat is overrated because she got lucky
even people who work harder on their animation.. get less attention..
      WHY?
because now.. people animate a LOT
so.. probs becausea lot of people animate like you
the chances of your animation geting noticed
      is lower.
the reason why eddsworld was so popular back then
is because a long time ago, not all people can make animations
and its pretty rare that people make their own series based on their selves and their friends
the reason is, because it was unique
and not all people have an animation program a long time ago.
      thats it.

Wow, I didn’t expect it to get so inspirational and emotional like that at the end QwQ
I had to watch it twice O.o
I was really excited to see this when I saw that you made a Scribble Kibble episode on Eddsworld! That’s such a wonderful show. And what you said near the end (3:30) is so true. Edd really did give us a good lesson to follow. I really want to follow that advice and create something like he had. I’m really busy a majority of the time; I never start anything because I keep “waiting for the opportunity to get time to do it”. Now I know I have to put effort to MAKE that time if I really want to create something; if I keep “waiting”, I’ll never get the chance to and my opportunity will forever be gone.
Also I love the end when you baked some bacon, that was great 👌

What you said inspired me. I have been dreaming to make my own anime like show and novel. But due to me having no confidence in myself I just gave up. After those years and now watching and listening to what you said I found the confidence to make my dream again. Thank you Crowne, Thank you for everything from binge-watching all your Scribble Kibble episodes to watching your tutorials I have improved my art and animation but constantly practicing and not caring what people called my story. I don't know what to say but... God bless you ma'am may your reign be glorious.

I know for a fact Eddsworld has and still is changing my life for the better. It has given me friends, and people who respect it as much as I do. Hell, most of my friends know and love the show! I know that Edd Gould has sadly passed at 2012, but I know this, 'We are the ones that keep his world spinning.' You're inspiring speech at the end really hit me in the heart, maybe me and my friends should start our series because of this... Anyway, thank you for this video :)

You know, the best thing about this lesson is that it basically applies to anything that you might want to do in your life. Don't compare yourself to other people, don't think that you aren't good enough to try. You just got to set your mind to it and try. If you're having fun doing it, well, that's what matters.

Wow, that was really, really inspiring--I know a few people who have always said they wanted to make this, or do that, and, a few of them still do, as far as I'm aware. I've always been a dreamer since I was a kid, and more than anything in the whole wide world, I've always wanted to make video games for people to enjoy; RPGs, mostly, I admit, but I have a major soft spot for those, and was quite inspired back when I was 13 to start learning how to make pixel-art. While I haven't done much with pixels lately, mostly due to being somewhat...heart-broken, I suppose, by someone that gave a very harsh critique on some of my work. Even now, it still nags at me, but, I'm taking a game design class in Technical College now, and I'll be learning how to make little video games during the semester, so I can learn how to make a bigger game on my own in time. Thank you for being so inspiring! I'm going to do my best not to give up! >w

I literally screamed in surprise and delight when I first saw this episode's existence.
As a longtime fan of Eddsworld (have been since the early legacy season, when the fandom was kinder and calmer), hearing your words genuinely made me tear up a little because I have a strong feeling that's exactly Edd would've said to us about motivation and doing things if he were still alive. And seeing you and your show give credit to an online show that I've loved to see more of publicly and that deserves this good attention gives me just a bit more hope on the world.
Thank you so much Crowne - Edd would be very pleased at this episode and he'd be thankful too. And so are us fans (particularly a bunch of the more calmer ones).

I came across this video earlier today and added it to my watch later playlist. I didnt think much of it, aside from the fact that I am in love with the show, but this video brought me to tears. You really had outdone yourself this time, and this is not a video of yours I shall soon forget. Keep up the great work.

This was by far one of my favorite videos by you, i haven’t watched many of your videos, but I really can see all the effort put into your animation and just your videos in general. Also, the speech you gave at the end about starting a web series or book, etc. Is telling me that I should start my webseries i already planned to make, fully inspired by edd. Now, time to get animating!!

I was slightly surprised when I saw this. Seeing as it was made...well, today! I loved the ending. Thanks to watching that ending a couple times, I got a few friends to help me start writing books on wattpad. Soon, maybe i'll start an animation channel out of this, despite my art only being a mashup of styles tweaked. I'll stop putting it off and saying "I have better things to do today" when I don't. But the question is, will others?

I came back to this video is because this is what really pushed me to start animating. When Crowne said ‘I’m NOT going to be one of those people. Are you?’ That’s when I made my first animation. All the inspiring people in the world telling me to follow my dream, and the tipping point that makes me finally start is someone that I’ve only seen a few videos from.

This is just a suggestion keep in mind . You should make a video on "let's go" by Stuck in Sound. There is much too talk about like how the face and emotions work, how the song fits with the video such as movements and events that tie in together, and (what it makes it skribbile kibble worthy is ) how the unanimate images work with the main character. Please check it out it's a good song and an even better animation. Thank you ! like it up so kibble can see this :)!

almost everyone in this comment section
says that they are inspired by the note near the end
      ...
yes.. it is inspirational.. i got inspired to..
but sadly.. nowadays people make their own animatons, ocs
      etc.. related to art
you know why your "art" isn't gonna be popular?
      because
if you are one in 1 million people who animates in youtube
people will STILL watch the most popular ones.
well.. you CAN still get popular... BUT ITS BASED ON LUCK PEOPLE.
for example: staariat is overrated because she got lucky
even people who work harder on their animation.. get less attention..
      WHY?
because now.. people animate a LOT
so.. probs becausea lot of people animate like you
the chances of your animation geting noticed
      is lower.
the reason why eddsworld was so popular back then
is because a long time ago, not all people can make animations
and its pretty rare that people make their own series based on their selves and their friends
the reason is, because it was unique
and not all people have an animation program a long time ago.
      thats it.
(please dont fix my grammar, i now its bad shut up)

Honestly, I look back at Eddsworld with a huge fondness. I've wanted to animate for the longest time, and I'm currently writing tons and tons of scripts of stuff I could possibly do. I'll have to do it slowly, considering school and the lack of an allowance to get the stuff I need to make what I want exactly. Eddsworld is the animation I look back at and I watch it with a huge smile because I can look at it and think 'a group of friends made *this* for fun.'

You've kinda just given me the kick in the butt I needed, last time I tried to make an animated series it fell flat on it's face, I was crushed, and my "friend" said it would best if I didn't animate anymore. I feel like it's been kind of holding me back with my progression as an animator and I've been too scared to try anything big. In fear of being told to quit again. I've really been wanting to create a series called Alternate Worlds, but I've been to afraid it will either fall on it's face or be hated. While I've been working on the casting call stuff I've been afraid to upload it, wanting to wait until I become better.. but you kinda motivated me to at least try and see how things go, thank you and I love your videos

Midnight Flash the Cat dont worry! Every animator starts off bad, or even terrible. But they progress as they go, dont listen to them.. because when you get skillfull enough, thatll teach those people.

god, eddsworld is a huge reason i started animating in the first place, for that exact reason, and im so glad you mentioned it in the video. i remember watching them and thinking, hey, maybe i dont need to have a /perfect/ style to do animation, or any type of art. it always inspired me to go through with a project i mightve thought about giving up on because its too long, or i didnt like a certain part so im gonna re do it 5 times and then get sick of working on it, w/e, but eventually finished! so thank you :,>

The speech at the end hit me hard. I was listening to it as I was thinking 'I want to be like Edd.' Except the only thing I did was draw still pictures. I didn't try with animating anything cause I thought 'I wasn't good enough', only to be hit back when I finished watching the video *(literally waterfalls streaming down my face)* that it's worth practicing and getting better. I wish I started a while ago instead of moping around, not doing anything. I've been practicing to animate things that a basic learner should know. Edd heavily inspired me to do something with animation, along with your beautiful speech. So must I say,
    Thank you, you both!

What you said in the end instantly made me wake up. I recently visited Disneyland, and all I can think about is animation. For a long time I kept saying to myself “I’ll do it when I’m older.” But I now realize that starting early can give me a step up, and that I can accomplish my dream of opening my own studio if I just *work* for it. Thank you for opening my eyes.

This got so inspirational and motivational at the end. I am a very lazy person, I pretty much never have motivation to animate something, but the times I do it’s in clumps. I can produce 2 or more short animations in a day, but then I go on a “hiatus” and never make another for over a week. The ending if your video made me reconsider and I have started working on a long animation with new techniques I have never tried! Scribble Kibble is such an amazing show and has taught me lots of things. The videos that have helped me most are your head-bob tutorial, and your art level video. Keep up the great work, Crowne Prince! 😸

The lesson behind this episode just really gets to me. All the characters I've made, whether they were fan characters made throughout my childhood, or original characters I've made a little more recently, had a story behind them. Some stories were okay, some not, and some were just colorless pencil and paper comics I made throughout the 3rd and 4th grade. Now, I am working on a story with my characters, and I am currently in the character development stage. I can't wait to finish this stage, and all the others. All those years of unfinished pencil and paper comics... but now, this time, I want to make a story that I can, and will finish.

I noticed there is one more reason why many people don't start animating, writing , etc. Somehow they just manage to convince themselves that pursuing their dream is foolish, unimportant and not worth any time. And then they just continue their lives, telling themselves how great it is that they never did that thing they wanted to do.

Eddsworld was by far one of the things that made me into animation and drawing. I was ecstatic to find out a few years ago that one of the episodes was uploaded on my birthday! The episodes was titled "Bacon" the one where Edd and Tord fought over bacon. And soon after Eddsworld has become a huge part of my life. Even though Edd Gould passed away when I was 6, i kept watching Eddsworld to keep Eddsworld spinning.

I only just recently got into the show, but as a kid born and raised in the early 90s, it does make me nostalgic for the old days of internet animation. I actually got into ASDFmovie first, when my cousins showed it to me. They told me about Eddsworld and I was aware of it for a while...but it took me ages to finally just sit down and watch it, partly to see what all the fuss was about and partly 'cause I wanted to hear what the "I Like Trains" Kid's voice sounded like when he wasn't saying "I like trains". The rustic charm of both the early animation style and the "lolrandom" humor got me instantly hooked. And I like the later episodes too, they're also delightfully random, just animated in a less pixelly, choppy way.

Thank you for making this video, its's beautiful how much things you put in that I could not see. Thank you for the ending Edd was wonderful in his time of being alive (through what I saw of him, of course) He did create so many things and worked so hard in doing so. You made me cry and put a smile on my face by actually talking about eddsworld and how many redeaming qualities the show had. By being what you watched and what really went on behind eddsworld. I give my condolences to Edd, and every single thing he has done and every episode he had made. May he rest in peace.
