The machine is back! Congrats on this run. Obligatory complaining about "could´ve been better" from your side included, otherwise it wouldn´t be a proper Kahmul run :D
Haven’t finished the vid, I’ll update after to say what he actually uses… but PTDE has: Moveswap that allows you to use a faster weapons moveset on a slower/high damage weapon memeroll (certain medium weight threshold that allows repeated rolling to avoid fall damage) Boss soul and homeward bone infinite use with an easy menu command glitch I believe the remaster runs at 60FPS, which can cause some strange collision and harder jumps Many mods are easier to run on/only optimized for PTDE I’m sure there’s other things but those are the main reasons people still play the og. A lot of people think the visual changes are negative, though I disagree.
@@traftonstakes1553 It has been a long time since I played PTDE, so yeah, thank you for the reminders! I'd completely forgotten how easy it was to reuse boss souls, homeward bones, etc. I could talk about the visual changes at length, but for the most part, the "Remastered" version looks mostly the same anyway. The projectiles/fire/etc. look more fantastical and I think was a welcome change. Although I did mourn the original bonfire flames, they used to look much more interesting. It's just very noticeably worse in places, and when you start up the game and the first thing you see is a messed up Character Creation screen with flatter textures and worse lighting, it really sticks out. It's so bad you can't even accurately tell the eye color. But I think the absolute worst area in the game is Ash Lake; I cannot understand how they messed up the water so badly unless it was completely by accident and/or they used an earlier build of the game. Other than that, it's... fine. I guess. Also broken ankles. lol.
@@epsylontripleZ I phrased it wrong. What I wanted to ask has he been streaming continuously? Because I'm out of the loop. I stopped watching Twitch some years ago and seeing that notification was a nice throw back.
Man it's been years since I watched a DS 1 speedrun. Feels super refreshing 😂
Oh man, haven't had a kahmul78 video on my feed for a long time. Congratulations man, what a crazy run!

"kahmul! you need to understand a 0:00 WR Speedrun is not possible in DS1!"
But he did not care. He would show them.
You’ve done fine work. There nothing else to do.

What are the benefits of running PTDE over Remastered?
