It's time to level-up your pricing model and start charging for the true value you create for your customers.
In this video, I combine a few of my favorite things - analogies, Pokémon, and business finance - to teach you how to evolve the way you charge for your services. Make more money without working harder or delivering less value.

Great overview of these pricing strategies. Whenever you serve the customer well, and are able to free up your time for the next gig, your employer projects or even for yourself, you create momentum that translates into more earning potential.
    Value x Execution =
More Freedom for you and those you serve well.
    Great topic Dave!

Thanks Tony! A lot of people get stuck trading dollars for hours (usually at a rate that's barely scraping by). I wanted to help reframe how people think about the value they offer (and I had a lot of fun with the Pokemon motif 🙂)

I love the way you explained all of this! A couple years ago, I started charging a flat monthly tuition for my piano lessons instead of charging by the lesson. I was worried that my clients would be put off by this, and it did require some explaining, but overall everyone has been happy with the change! My goal was to simplify my bookkeeping and equalize my income but there was a benefit I didn't expect: my teaching became less transactional. I'm no longer counting lessons and billing for that time, but instead with this monthly tuition plan I am just their teacher now. They are all set up on auto pay every month, so we never even talk about money. I just come to their house every week as scheduled and teach a lesson. It took me years to build the courage to set up a system like this, and it was way overdue. So glad your video is out here now to help folks rethink how they run this part of their business!

Yes! Thank you for sharing your experience with your own pricing evolution. You highlighted another awesome benefit - The less often or the less consciously your customers have to reach into their wallet and hand you money, the less transactional the relationship! 👍🔥
And you're not just adding more value to your business, you're also adding more value to your customers by freeing them up from having to think about the payments. You teach, they learn, and the money stuff is automatically handled in the background.

Chris Do is the man! He's super generous with his content. I'm just sharing what I've been learning from the masters (and maybe putting a little spin on it).

"Scope creep" Bahahaha! Such a real thing! Awesome job laying this out. Really great way to get us all to think about possibilities.

Thanks MJ! Yes, Scope Creep is truly the devourer of souls (and profit margins). Beware. BEWARE!

I’ve been thinking about moving away from hourly pricing to project based pricing. Thanks for the help pushing me in the right direction.
