My bins have been stolen many times. Bins and covers are going falling all over the sidewalks at night after 8 pm, unless garbage men put them back on the inner sides.
I would never want to live in NYC...I don't even want to be anywhere near it, can you imagine the chaos if society breaks down.

We got these in Australian about 40 years ago! How backward can you get!
We've had those style bins for trash (grey), recyclables (blue) and compostables (green) for many years here in Sonoma County, CA. We've found they're much easier to pull behind you than in front of oneself like the Mayor Adams did -- it was a stellar performance, very athletic and coordinated but perhaps not recommended for home use for all? Lastly, to rolling trash bin tips from watching my neighbors: (1) Yes, you can drag a rolling trash bin with a golf cart, small tractor lawnmower or a dirt bike -- just be careful and sensible! (2) If folks get them in different sizes for the different colors/waste categories, then you may be able to put the smallest one (grey for landfill, in my case) inside the biggest one (blue for recyclables for me) and thus drag all 3 trash bins home in one trip. Now I realize what I though after watching the video -- Mayor Adams is indeed skilled and athletic but not even he can push two of those rolling trash bins in front of himself at the same time :) That's likely why we pull rather than push them.

2/7 days we put out garbage out. That bin has a capacity of 1 bag ( clearly shown in the video). What about the rest of the garbage cuz I usually put out at least 5 bags on recycling day and 2 bags the other day so if you do the math there is a total of 5 bags unaccounted for by the ridiculously small bin. We need bigger bins something that will hold at least 4 filled bags and if we are putting garbage out then garbage should be picked up... I shouldn't put it out at 8pm, go to bed, wake up, get dressed go to work come back home and it's still there

I have lived in NYC from Spring of 1988 to Winter of 2020 and Adams has been the most clueless Mayor the city ever had. Even more than Big Bird (DeBozo) and that’s saying something. I remember not too long ago NYC said to use a special BROWN can for compost . So I been using one for my cut grass clippings , only to find out it wasn't being picked up . When I called 311 to complain I was told that program is no longer in effect , I should put it out in a bag with recycle garbage . How long will this be in effect before the city says ... sorry this program hasn't worked out , go back to the way you did it before ?

This is insanity. NYC expects me to put my half gallon grocery bag into a giant 50 gallon trash can!!!!! There is no exemption at all for very tiny amount of trash??? And if you happen to be away from home and leave the trash can on the sidewalk, it is going to attract burglars into your house!!!
