  • In this, episode 80 of PowerTec 10 the late Marvin Burke, Andy Wood and DV answer many questions that had been highlighted during the 6 months or so preceding this live broadcast. There is about a 95% chance it will answer a question yopu may have had but you probably will need to take this video in 3 -4 bites - but it will be worth it.

This head along with that new piston design just released as of Fall 2023 would be incredible !!! And youre right in my own 7.3 i found more power when my exhaust looked like coffee with cream than it ever did blowing coal black After i did considerable flow work on that engine . Too many think that black means power . Not so , its not fully burned !!! And air bottled up as boost pressure doesnt have a chance to make power !!! It MUST FLOW !!!

Suggestion I learned from the advertising industry, that is VERY IMPORTANT!!!
    Guys, keep your hands showing!
Put them on the desk or have them visible when not in use. Something about it increases your power and credibility during a presentation.
There is something disempowering/emasculating about cutting someone's hands off either with a video frame or however.
Men do things with our hands. Our hands represent our power. Having them cut off emasculates you in some weird psychological way.
Also, HANDLE THE CYLINDER HEAD AND MANIPULATE IT AROUND FOR US, because that is exactly what we would be doing if we were there! Those are absolutely gorgeous cylinder heads!!!
We wanna see the valve angles, the combustion chamber, the ports, and everything we can!
PS IS IT 7000 DOLLARS PER HEAD OR PER SET? You didn't make that clear.

The difference in the valve to seat angle between a 40 deg and a 45 deg valve and seat geometry is where youre getting confused . The 40 deg has greater seen opening because of the flatter valve angle vs a valve with 45 deg seat geometry . It takes a larger 45 deg set up to equal the 40 deg at lower lifts .

    Good morning David
I would like to be able to ask a question if it is not too much trouble, or if you could make a video talking about this topic.
I have searched for information about the dynamic compression ratio, but I can't find any relevant information.
I know it will depend on the fuel, but how much is a lot or how little is Rc, what type of fuel should be used depending on the Rc.
I dedicate myself as a hobby and the engines I make are from Bmw 16v, I know that you made 16v engines too, I would like you to talk about it one day, the relationship between valve diameter and cylinder, valve seats and ducts, it would be great information For those of us who like small multi-valve engines.

    Hello,
I have a question regarding the diameter of the bore at the valves.
A short Information before: I refurbished my 5.9 360 of my Jeep ZJ. After taking out all the valves, specially the exhaust I measured the diameter after the valveseat. All bores had a different diameter, so I set the cylinderhead in the CNC and milled all to the same diameter. Was this a mistake? And why are there differences?

Mr. Vizard, I have a question about some information I read in your Holley super tuning book. When you talked about power valves, you mentioned requiring a power valve that actuated 2” below the vacuum at cruise or idle. My question is, does that mean idle in gear or idle in park? My 76 camaro with a 327 from a 66 corvette seems to require a 9.5 or 10.5 power valve but at idle in gear the power valve is obviously open because of the vacuum reading. But in park or at cruise the 9.5 or 10.5 power valve seems acceptable.

Do you have any opinions on the free valve setups, that are electronic controlled valve timing? Having the ability to program the cam timing and lift /duration, every aspect can be programmed. In theory the throttle valve can be done away with ! Using the valve lift to throttle the engine .. I believe having a throttle, and allow a programmed cam with spicy idle would be awesome! Anyway, do you have an opinion, could this be the future, ?
