Bruh, you are my go-to lens guy from now on. You addressed everything that a person is looking to learn when searching for a lens review. Gratzi muchozo!
Honestly Sigma has been killing the game with their glass. I personally shoot regularly on the sigma 35 art f1.4 and it's never let me down. I've been wanting to grab an additional, wider angle lens and this might just be it!
I bought this last month, it arrived two weeks ago. I purchased the NiSi 150mm filter holder for long exposure shots, really thankful it came with a CPL. I’m sure I’m going to have fun with this.
Been using the Sigma 16-28 2.8 and it is perfect for my small Retro room I use for shoots often. I'm old and My hands are shaky so the S52 new High IBIS setting is very welcome but now I have to compensate for the extra crop so I ordered this lens.
Hey, Tom. Greetings. Just the lens I've been looking for. Canon L glass quality with out the Canon expensiveness. Nicely presented, furthermore, Nice music playing as you present. Thanks, Man.
I’m interested in this lens! My 16-35 2.8 is starting to have focus problems, and I don’t mean auto focus problems. Even in manual focus one side of the frame is blurry, and lens repair is expensive. I do shoot with R6, and I do have a filter adaptor, mostly interested in this for Astro timelapse’s, I think this lens could be a good fit for me!
There is a new, mirrorless Sigma 14-24 f2.8 lens, that is almost a pound lighter than this one, coming either in E-mount or L-mount. Hopefully, in a year or two, it will be released with an RF-mount as well.
I'm Sony user and I had Tamron 17-28mm before. Even it was pretty wide for shooting landscape and I mostly I had zoomed it in on 28mm, on other side I liked Sigma when you zoomed out on 14mm and took pictures in nature for example, it gave you that depth/distance between you and what you shoot when you check it on the photo. Some ppl say that 14mm might be for a lot of ppl harder to use than 17mm for example but idk. Wider is better and you can always zoom in. :D
Very useful review. I just settled on this lens myself for my Canon 6D MKii, though it hasn't arrived yet. Your review is making me feel better about the decision (over the Canon 16-35L F4 IS). I really wanted something faster than F4 but not at Canon prices (I already own too much expensive L glass). I use digital stabilization a lot so the image gets cropped. I believe this lens will work perfect in that scenario when my 24-70L f2.8 isn't quite wide enough. Sub'd!
Was just looking at one of these yesterday for real estate photography. Now I'm wondering how I could use it creatively for fashion photography and even video on the EOS R.
Hello, your videos are very good, I would like to know your criteria If you have a canon 5d mark 4 and you want to buy a wide angle which one would you choose the sigma art 14-24mm f2.8 or the 16-35mm f4 is usm canon L series which is better
They’re both GREAT lenses. It’s depends on your needs. If you’re planning to do landscapes and outdoor work where the f4 aperture isn’t an issue, the Canon is terrific. If you need better low light performance and slightly shallower depth of field, the Sigma is a better choice.
May I ask a question. I do real estate photography. I need purchase a circular polarized filter for my Sigma 14-24 mm F2.8 lens. Can you guide me to a good option?
For wide stuff, I mostly shoot D850 20mm 1.8 lightweight prime it usually works with incredible sharpness. For wider needs I have the 14mm Rokinon 2.8 manual, it's actually a pretty good budge wide angle, but man it's hard to nail focus unless you're on sticks shooting landscape. I just ordered the Sigma14-24 it's pretty obvious Nikon needs to update some of their iconic glass.
you're my goto guy right now... rodecaster review, this lens review, the pod mic review vs Shure mic.... yeah... your'e my go to guy for info.... lol just thought I'd let you know - Griff #subbed
Honestly, I think you made the right choice. You really don’t need 2.8 for landscapes. Check out Thomas Heaton’s review of the 16-35. He uses it for brilliant landscapes, and I think it’ll make you really excited for your lens 👍
If you had to choose one, would you choose sigma 14-24 or the sigma 24? Oh and love your content. It's definitely helping me. I just purchased the eos r with 35mm f1.8 and I wanted to get another lense that can deal with the 4k crop and if not 4k crop i want something that is sharp in 1080p. Oh and do the sigmas allow you to use the other frame options? I heard other 3rd party cameras may gray out other options on the EOS R. I'm new to the camera world lol so if I didn't word any of this right I apologize. 😅
I would personally choose the 24 1.4 for sure! But It's my favorite lens and I'm really biased. Have you looked at the MetaBones EF-RF speedbooster? It's pricey but seems really good, and takes the 4K crop all the way down to 1.2x. I've watched a lot of videos on it and it seems like a great option. Oh, and I haven't had any issues with Sigma lenses in terms of limiting frame rates or focusing or anything. Good luck! Glad the videos have been helpful!
@@tombuck Thanks for the response but may I ask why you would choose th 24 1.4 over the 14-24? And yes I thought about it too but the price for it right now is a lot lol maybe once I have an established channel I will do so.

Wow! Only 35 likes and 338 views since November??? This is a great review! I have an EOS R and this would really fill the bill for RUclips vids in 4K! The weight will be a factor (I have a 70-200 lens and if it's even close, it will be a beast to hoist for long periods... but I don't do long periods... I do three dots. ;) ) Plus, I have a Weebill S gimbal that it might work with (I'll have to check around due to the weight) which would solve the stabilization issue. I'm seriously considering this lens now thanks to this review. Is your link an affiliate link, because if I buy, and it is, I will buy through your link unless I can find it cheaper elsewhere. Thanks for the review!
Thanks Kai! I haven’t done a direct wight comparison, but it’s REAL close to a 70-200. The wide angle for 4K with the R is a really great benefit for sure. And yes, it’s an affiliate link. 😬
The Enthusiasm Project since it's so short, it may actually balance on the Weebill S, and it's got monster motor torque so even if I have to remove the EVF cover to keep it from hitting the rear motor when shooting video it's not an issue for such a benefit.
nice video. just want to ask, did u use the adaptor in eos r when u use this lens? i was thinking about nd filter and the canon has this adaptor with nd filter build in.

I know you're biased to Canon and Sigma, the Tamron 15-30 2.8 G1 or G2 are good options as well. I had the G1 and liked for being able to use it in 4k in a small room on my eos r. Thanks again for the great content.
@@tombuck Understood. After watching your Canon 16-35 F4 video, I decided to keep the Canon and sell the Tamron due to weight and cost of specialized filters. Now that the RF 16-35 with IS is out, that will be on my wishlist. Can't wait for 3rd party companies to start making RF lenses.
