Thank you! I've had an impingement issue for some months due to an internallly rotated right shoulder (I'm a professional clarinet player) and the exercise at 4:15 is definitely the most effective one I've found for externally rotating my shoulder.
Finally a personal trainer who knows what they're talking about.I'm a physiotherapist and usually discourage patients from seeing a PT because of all the injuries I've seen as a result but I'd come see you myself!
This is good and important stuff. I have had a lot of luck with face pulls as well. I like them because you get the ER and some shoulder retraction as well.
This was amazing, thank you so much. I did the stretches and immediately felt better, like I had dislocated my shoulders and put then back in place correctly. It feels SO good! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Props from Russia, Siberia. Very informative. Especially the video which helps self diagnosing impingement. I've been feeling pain in the area of big and small heads of biceps after regular boxing bag practice. I restrained from physical exercises for time being. I tried to self diagnose wether that is impingement, or biceps joint head(s) issue. When I tried your method, and based on the feelings I am getting, it's kind of iffy.. wether that is or that is not impingement. Anyway I am trying to restrain from swing movements and anything that causes that pain. Pain is kind of dull, and I literally feel by touching, that either biceps head swallen a little bit and hurts
I think I have internal Impingement with pain coming from the rear felt area but internal. Anything I can do to fix that? I'm woking on building the serrates, stretching the pecs, building the mid trap. My scapula wings slightly too. But can't tell if I have internal inpingement or a small tear in my labrum
Hey man, thanks for this video, it was very helpful, I have had this problem for years and saw several providers and nobody was able to figure out what was going on until a few months ago (finally!) I've been looking for solutions online however because physical therapy is $250 a session and I just can't make that happen. Anyway just wanted to say thanks
i found resolutive the stretch of the subscapularis (if this is tight it push forward the ball of the shoulder) you should try it (immediate fix in my case) you can find it in rotator cuff stretches videos search for 'Jeff Cavaliere rotator cuff stretches'
Thumbs up everyone. I mean thumbs forward, sorry. 🤨 (or did someone already say that?) I love it, I don't have that posture but do have impingement. This is a great idea to maintain the alignment! So, that's thumbs up.
Very informative video. Quick question though, you say to avoid chest isolation movements for about a month to avoid strengthening the internal rotator muscles anymore, does this mean I should also avoid the bench press for this time? It is the exercise causing me shoulder pain. Also, should I be doing these exercises every day or every other day? Thanks
Really helpful dude thank you. Just found your channel today. Will be using it daily most probably. By the way though, even though I've been doing exercises to fix my impingement and I have no pain and can more or less train normally, I still ALWAYS have a painless but none the less horrible feeling clicking. Will that ever go away or am I stuck with it? Also, you said to do upper back exercises and no chest, could you advise all exercises I'm best off doing for my upper back?
I'm getting the impingement across my collarbone. Anything further I should consider in addition? Thanks for putting this online, wish I had found this a while ago.
My impinged left shoulder can't handle that wall stretch for external rotation. Ouch. How to work up to that? - or will this stretch start working by doing this daily but not to the point of lots of pain?
I have a slightly impinged shoulder from flaring on bench press, also i have very underdeveloped upper chest. Will these exercises help correct shoulder impingement and should i focus on building upper chest? Please answer
dude i just watched your video and i feel slightly better w out even doing anything yet. quick question conservatively how long does it usually take to correct this?
@@niceguynic4951 ive been struggling for years with my posture and if theres one thing i learned is that it takes a hell of a lot of time and effort...
What if I have a comically short range of motion when doing the external rotation exercises? Should I try and stretch this area as well as strengthening it?
I have never seen, even in the videos of physiotherapists and personal trainers explaining it, an individual with his thumbs pointing perfectly straight forward when in a relaxed position. I get it, they shouldn't be pointed towards each other but fingers pointing perfectly perpendicular to the rest of the body? I've never seen someone with shoulder set back that much. Maybe 20-30 degrees of internal rotation but never 90
no i dont have that ..is there any alternative?? i do other one with ball beneath trapeziums while lying on the floor though. thanks for your time by the way
I have pain when doing the external rotations with the band... towards the middle of the shoulder. I can't figure out for the life of me what is actually causing it
It think it's really interesting, that I'm lacking internal rotation (And hyper mobility in the external rotation) although i'm diagnosed with Impingement. Do you have an explanation for this? Thanks for the videos !
+GuerrillaZen Fitness Wow, thanks for your quick answer! I've watched a few Kelly S videos, where he talks about pro athletes lacking internal rotation ( I know it's very common among throwing athletes) but I've never done a lot of throwing, so I don't really know, maybe it's due to a lot of pressing exercises but I've stopped anyway and I will visit a second physician soon. Do you have any drills for regaining internal rotation ?

Very vivid information. Educated, gave visuals and explained what you're and why you're doing it. Perfect

Hey Blake! If I have a mild pain in one shoulder on the top position of a overhead press would it be considered impingement?

That would be great !
How long would you say it takes to see progress from this?
Anybody else encounter some pinching pain in the shoulder when trying to stretch the internal rotators?
I took a vid of myself to get “before” pics and I’m like wait why do I look like a gorilla 😭 never noticed before so will be doing this 💯

Well you can do resisted internal rotation. With a band....like the opposite of what I showed in this video
Yes Thank you, but is this really mobilisation? or just strengthening the rotator cuff muscles
is it Good to use a volley Ball? or tenis Ball?
lacrosse ball
Could this cause pain in the rear delts / trap area ?
