What's up?! Today on the show Marcus is driving another boosted Skyline! But not just any boosted Skyline.. there's 8 cylinders feeding this turbo, not 6 ;) Justin has built this Nissan Skyline R34 sedan from the ground up, fitting a single turbo carbureted Chevy 350 under the hood. An LS swap is necessary maintenance for an RX7.

Epic build man love the uniqueness! I just finished building my own R34 4 door and wish I did something unique but instead I put a skyline engine in a skyline. Props for doing something that triggers the haters!

I keep thinking about what Japanese engine to swap into my classic Mustang. Its between a VQ35HR, VH41, VK56, or 1UZFE. Wanted to do a 2JZ but they're yay expensive now. RB26 is......not an option. They're relatively unreliable and have no aftermarket (in the US at least). I didnt wanna do an LS or Coyote like most people would do in a stang. Also gonna convert from auto to manual transmission no question. Likely using a Tremmec 5 speed.

@@DAN007thefoxx1 or hear me out, a hellcat swap. never been done in a classic stang. it would also give you plenty of power out the box, and you could upgrade if you wanted to down the road. but nobody would expect a classic srt mustang😂. if you really wanted to get creative see about a powerstroke or a duramax swap.

ill be honest i've had a set for the past few years and they've treated me decent. for the price they really aren't bad at all when most will probably use them as drift spares and whatever regardless. but i mean for the price compared to some rotiforms practically made with the same process and what most people run, they aren't terrible

It's funny. Living in japan. The Japanese don't hate on each other for doing builds like these. They love and appreciate builds in general. It's only when I go back to the states that people legitimately HATE you for doing this kind of build. I remember talking do a older client of mine in Japan. (Japanese barbershop) client was a mechanic. and he loved the idea of RX-7 LS swap. He said Rx-7 has amazing chassis and balance it only needed a reliable and powerful more engine. But you say LS swap rx-7 and you'll literally be hated on. I rather be back in Japan where people appreciate builds in general.

I love that he has an r34 chassis with a carbed SBC engine, CXracing parts and XXR wheels. Seriously the best inspiration of a builder that just does what he wants and wants to have fun. I cannot wait for my LS swapped s14 to be done!
Why use a carburetted engine with a turbo when you can just LS swap and get all the modern efi features, engine protection and monitoring

@@Gaphalor I suppose I should clarify that this only applies to OLDER Porsches, the ones more likely to be engine-swapped. The newer ones have AWD systems that fixed the snap oversteer problem the 911 had become famous for. Slam a V8 in the back of an already tail-happy car, and there isn't enough downforce in the world to keep you going in a straight line.
@@twotailedavenger yea true, but snap oversteer only happens when you panic and release the throttle too fast, i know it i drive a rearengine rwd car myself. But agree with an even heavier engine you cannot correct anymore, the weighttransfer then is too strong

I've always wondered, what are those filters for at 4:23? I always see those on chevy blocks but isn't this turbo'd? So what do those filters do? Extra air?
This car is the equivalent of an athletic Japanese guy(r34) marrying an American bbw(turbo American v8). But not a sloppy bbw, one with a curvy proportionate figure with big breasts and booty.

It's an interesting swap for sure. I think a lot of the purists will hate on this build but that's OK. This guy didn't build the car for anyone else but himself, and I'm happy he shares it with us here on RUclips. Great video brotha

To each their own. I respect all builds but that doesn't mean I have to like them. This one though I like and it's been done cleanly so props to the owner. He replaced the rb25 too and he said it was a beat up shell so no big loss and honestly it looks amazing . Another solid video man 👍
I was looking at buying a Nissan R34 Skyline GTS back in 2006 which had an RB25DE engine bolted into it from the factory as I currently drove an Australian built 1986 model Holden VL Commodore which I built a Nissan RB30DE for since the RB30E engine was fitted only to an Australian built VL Commodore & R31 Skyline (maybe the South African built R31 Skyline as well),I built a 3 litre version of it out of the both engines.
The reason I didn't buy the R34 Skyline GTS is because I was too tall & the VL Commodore had more legroom than the R34 Skyline,I wanted to build an RB30DE engine for it as well.
Out of the Chev V8 engines I would only fit one of the GEN3-GEN5 V8 engines as my Holden VY SS Commodore runs a tuned 5.7 litre Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine which puts out about 300 kilowatts of power so I'm happy with it
A twin turbocharged Nissan VH45 V8 engine would also go hard as well as being very smooth,I've got nothing against the VK56 V8 engine but a Chevy LS1 engine would be cheaper & I think that they're both as good as each other.
The LS1 engine seems to be able to be tuned to go as hard as the Nissan VK56VD engine can as well & that's a stock LS1.
Yeah,I don't know why manufacturers have been taking the V8 engine out because my LS1 engine uses about as much fuel on the highway as the Nissan RB30DE engine that I built did !

Hey, a buddy of mine has an *exact* one like this, with the same body kit from the same guy in Russia and Z-Tune front, except painted Bayside Blue and with an RB26DETT, it's crazy how similar they look !
I just started my 1985 Monte Carlo non ss it's original 305 v8 5.0l 4speed been 3 years since I slammed the pedal to the floor. Put a little bit of gas in the carb an a full tank and she runs like brand new, thinking about putting a twin turbo or a 454 into it once I rebuild the 305
