Thats a great video Matt! Having Bec with her hair up was inspirational as she has a fabulous neck. I would have been petrified shooting in front of Peter!
Thanks Chris, yes I preferred the hair up so I'm glad I shot those on film too. Ha yes at the start it was a bit awkward but I soon switched to autopilot I think.

As always - Peter is never acting as the Master in Photography - watching him is observing how collaboration - he and the model are both driven to create more than a picture by combining their mutual talents. Watching this video shows that he is passing this approach successfully on to his students.

These are my favourite type of videos from you Matt, by far (and I really enjoy the gear/tech videos). It's great to see everything from your other videos being put into practice in the real world on location. All the photos from this shoot were beautiful too.... fantastic model.

It’s true what you said… she has such a pretty face, such incredible hair and eyes that you kind of forget to shoot her fantastic legs. I can only say I admire your discipline sticking to black and white because I probably would have given in and shot in color just to get those eyes

@@MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom You mentioned having your M3 recalibrated for the 0.7m close focus with the ELCAN lens....do you know how that's done? And the cost?
@@SteveMillerhuntingforfood just as good repair guy to calibrate RF to 0.7m. Should be a similar price.

Yes! Yes I crop in camera so very often vertical. Peter is a studio guy/ shoots for clients so shoot horizontal so to have various crop options, 6x6, vertical etc.
@@MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom I tried to shoot only horizontal, couldn’t do it haha. Me too, crop in camera.

Thanks, yes Nikon can take nice photos too, I love the film bodies. I can't help you with repair but you can use a free light meter app on your phone instead.

Well done Chap!! I'm obsessed with Bec and the energy and photos from you are so different than Peters. Not negative, just different. I tried to describe the difference to myself and could only come up with Bec being more serious. Which frankly I don't get, cuz she's serious with Peter as well. Maybe it's my "energy reader"? As Peter teaches us, it's the eyes. We know Bec and Peter have a relationship so close that they can read and anticipate each other's thoughts. I sensed that and saw that you'd suggested things to her for her to execute. I'm about to embark on a series of shouts with women I know, but not as well as my Muse. This will be interesting.

Ah thank you! This is a fancy version of what I post on Patreon (me with models).. Peter mic'd me up so not only did I have 2 cameras pointing at me I also had to consider what I said haha.. I soon forgot and got into a flow. You see the photos progress as Bec and I get into a rhythm and forget the cameras.

Looking at my Sony A7R2 and the original Leica SL to see if I should switch.
I can't help with Sony but I did let a Sony user try my SL at a recent wedding and they said it feels much more premium vs. Sony (if that helps). I love my SL.

Thanks Mark, yes as with every shoot (if new model to photographer) it's a slow start until we both relax into it. As with most shoots most of the "keeper" photos came at the end.
Pt2 i feel a 24mm or 35mm lense would have given him composition and as we saw in Ra Ra's photoshoot at Peters Shack,
Eloquent composition was in that shack ,,
Still he gets a thumbs up for those sharp photos of Bec
Yes I was using the Leica Q for portraits last week (24-26mm). Wider lenses can be great for portraits, I do use them for my overseas shoots. You just need to watch the background for distractions (like Peter trying to work at his desk in this instance)

Yes agree, to me nothing, I just shared how I work with models, everyone works slightly differently or sees the world slightly differently. People that perhaps don't know how to photo people might have been inspired.

Regarding ordering Q3 from B$H and Adorana. AS I Wrote I ordered a Q3, but I ordered from B&H who has been my dealer for 50 plus years. Now I read the Blogs a lot and all the cameras I read as being delivered have been sold by Leica stores in the USA. I guess Leica has decided
with very limited supply they will be the ones making all the sales and not the AD like
B&H.

B&H are telling me I shouldn't expect it in this year. They said Jan-Feb of 2024! I mean WOW! (ordered on June 30th)
If you follow this thread it appears one is more likely to snag a Q3 from LeicacameraUSA than a large retailer like BHPhoto or others. I don't know if that is generally true but that seems to be the case. I was lucky to be the first one on the waiting list at an independent authorized Leica Brick and Mortar store in SoCal. That store had ordered product very early and got one Q3 in, along with accessories.

Thank you. Yes everyone has their own style. Peter has many commercial jobs including Vogue and photographer of the year, I have none of these. (But I like my editing style.. it's the look I like).

Thanks, everyone works differently. I’ve shot models for 13 years and never had any problems or complaints. I agree it’s great advice for new photographers or working with new models. Thanks for the suggestions.
