NOTE: As of 2023, this guide still covers 99% of what you need to setup a Torp Boat. However the Maelstrom Torp from the Legendary Akira is now a must-slot, and the console from the Terran Eagle replaces the Ferrofluid console from the Terran Rep. In addition, the Eagle is the current Record holder for torps, as the console it has allows you to fire torps over twice as fast, and it can use the 4 main torps discussed here, alongside the Maelstrom.

Thanks for the video. I didn't realize that I was effectively trolling elite runs by slotting Concentrate Firepower 1 or 2 (CF1, CF2). I went through and upgraded all my builds to CF3 or removed the ability if CF3 was not possible. The results have been quite satisfying. I'm sure the elite community will appreciate it, when and if I get a team together for elite content.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention that the Delphic’s biggest selling point is the stacking debuff that allows each successive torpedo hit to do more damage. You’re underselling Delphic in single target scenarios. 😎
@@artificialgravitas8954 Now that I understand where you are coming from, I can better explain why the debuff is significant. Special case scenario: Above 185% critD value, if 1/2 of the torpedoes in the salvo crit, the lower yield salvo’s would do more damage than the higher ranks. The stacking debuff adds up, and makes the HY3 strong in almost every situation.

Not sure if this is just an older video with outdated information, but Kinetic Magnet does not have a damage cap any longer. It just gives up to -50 kinetic resistance and attracts mines to the target.
I just want to confirm that as of 6/10/2023 that code still works and will get you the ship. it is 15$ USD if you get the pdf version of the book. pretty cheep for a promo ship if you ask me.

After giving torps a rest for awhile, I'm looking to get back into it. I'm wanting to go a somewhat different route ship wise and am going to be using the Vastam Tac Cmd Warbird. Its 4/4 with a Commaner Command seat.

I feel CF2 is just fine if you are running solo or pug TFO's and not chasing max DPS, there are a few ships that get overlooked because they only have rank 2 available to them that I feel are very fun and still do a ton of damage (Strike ship) for instance. Perhaps not the right arena for this comment because this is a "meta" build video in which yes you want CF3 but I feel like CF2 gets an unjust bad wrap.....thoughts?

I don't have the math in front of me, but with builds at a higher level, damage typically wins out as it's a final multiplier and the amount of damage boosts on these builds adds up to be quite a bit. You easily have several hundred % cat 1 that is then multiplied by a few hundred % cat 2. Then the Dmg mod comes in afterwards taking advantage of all the damage boosts you have. There are some calculators out there on reddit.com/r/STOBuilds , just take a bit of time to go through and figure out the exact differences based on your build and buffs
If you're going after a meta torp build like shown in this video, I just don't see how you get around not having Concentrate Firepower. Even if you reduce the cd of your torps to 1s, you're not getting that free High Yield 1 every 2 seconds.
Trait wise, I'd say to look at either the Mirror Warship for "Terran Goodbye" (Up to +15% CrtH / 75 acc) or The Disco D7 MW FDC for "The Ruin of Our Enemies" (Per target killed, +3% Bonus All Damage, up to 100 stacks). Console wise, the Deimos Pilot Destroyer for the Immolating Phaser Lance if you want to invest in the Crossfield Refit for the "Universal Designs" trait. Ship wise, I'm still a fan of the Styx. It's one of the best torp platforms and it's one of the best tank platforms.

Torps are great. The gravimetric photon being the exception. It does nothing and does NOT create a gravimetric rift, a waste of resources. The Romulan hyper and Dark Matter are the best.
@@rathondraconin I shall give the Gravimetric ACC a whirl. The Breen transphasic cluster torpedo upgraded is awesome. With tac buffs it can do 60,000+ damage with a single torp.
It has a Commander Intel seat, and only a LtC Command. If those were reversed, it would be a good option. I can still work as is, just not going to be as great as some of the 4/4 ships out there that have a Commander Command seat.
You have Entwined Tactical Matrices backwards. It does not trigger on FAW or SV and it does not give you Torp Spread 1. It triggers on TS and it gives you both FAW 1 and SV 1. I use it in my torp boat build, which is very different from yours, because I use a pilot ship and not a command ship and boost my damage with a combination of Promise of Ferocity, Supercharged Weapons and Weapon System Synergy, along with the Entwined Tactical Matrices. I don't ever both with FAW or SV because I get both every time I do a torp spread and I do them often because I use a DEF tank *means I get missed a lot" and Reciprocity trait, which reduces tactical and intel cooldowns every time you get missed in combat.I also do NOT reply on High Yields and usually have it as HY2 for special situations. Instead I dish out all my DPS with Torp Spread 3s as fast as I can pop them off. I do 4 torps on the front and 2 360 beams and either a turret or a beam array that completes a set in the back. I been doing torp boats for about a decade, long before most players thought a viable torp boat was even possible, none the less considered the OP build. I also use a different mix of Torps, but we have the Neutronic in common which is my Torp 1, and the Dark Matter Quantum, which I use as Torp 4 and the one that changes if I want to swap out a torp for a specific energy damage type. Between those I put the Gravimetric and the Morphogenic, and I use polarons for my energy weapons. I also use a couple partial sets and several full sets in my build, including the Escort Mods set with it's Point Defense Torps console.
I am glad that you have found a build that works for you. However, you are not correct with regards to ETM. I would strongly suggest that you re-read the description of Entwined again, it works both ways. CSV and FAW both grant a TS1 while ETM is slotted.
Okay. I just reread it in game and it seems you are right in that it actually does both. Triggers fire at will and scatter volley one when you use a torp spread and triggers a torp spread one when you use fire at will or scatter volley. Not the way I remember it working, and I have always used it for FAW on the omni's being triggered whenever I torp spread. Never used it the other way.
If per say you have a 4/3 weapon slots, would you keep the delphic torp set by replacing the beam bank with the Interphase Quantum Distributor if not what do you suggest? Also any other modifications you suggest to accommodate that slotting?
If you already have the investment on your Sci, then take advantage of it. Tacs do have a fairly large performance lead over Sci/Eng, but there is no content in this game where that extra bit of performance is needed.
In PvE it's always generally been "kill things before they can kill you". On that specific build, I may have been using "Exitus Acta Probat" also? Got a vid on the channel going over that mechanic.
The DPRM is still a very good console for general use cases and for most players. The reason it isn't always used is: 1. In a high level environment, you don't need the survivability from it. So you'd only be using it to get the 40% cat 2 for 20s. 2. On a high end build, you may be at or close to 100% Crit Chance. At that point, CrtD can be competitive with Cat 2 damage boosts. So depending on the build, it can be more beneficial to go for more CrtD rather than short duration Cat 2 boost, as the CrtD would be there all the time.
Ceaseless Momentum does not reduce the recharge time of torpedo for 5 seconds. It only reduces it for ONE second. I went out and bought it off the exchange after watching this video only to find out you didn't know what you were talking about with this trait. I'm finding this happen more often than not with content creators for this game that the information they are giving is entirely inaccurate. The bonus damage stacks but the recharge time does not stack nor does it say it does in the tool tip. I assumed you tested this trait out since you were talking about it guess not

Wow didn't realize the situation with CF1 and 2 was so bad! Just switched off of CEA 1 for CF3 instead of CF2, encouraged my friend to do the same.

The Vastam can work, but it is just the Presidio with a singularity core and battle cloak.

That's fair, for a solo environment, having CF1 or 2 is def better than not having CF at all.

I do not use concentrate fire power. I fly a recon vesta, get 1 torp/sec. There are other ways to build.

Have you tried the spatial torp and wide arc phase cannon set from the lobi store?
I've used the wide arc phase cannon quite a bit, does well. But the torp didn't do that well last time I tried it

Just drop the DBB in that case. Don't bother with the console for that set, isn't better than the other consoles you have.

Terran eagle would be a good ship to go for nowadays. Console is meta for torps, and the ship is the current torp dps record holder.

With Agony Redistributor having been nerfed, this guide is still quite solid. Torp meta hasn't changed that much so far.

Ceaseless Momentum does not reduce the recharge time of torpedo for 5 seconds. It only reduces it for ONE second. I went out and bought it off the exchange after watching this video only to find out you didn't know what you were talking about with this trait. I'm finding this happen more often than not with content creators for this game that the information they are giving is entirely inaccurate. The bonus damage stacks but the recharge time does not stack nor does it say it does in the tool tip. I assumed you tested this trait out since you were talking about it guess not
