Kia Stinger 3.3 V6 T-GDI Twin Turbo AWD (2019)
vs
Volkswagen Arteon 2.0 TDI 4Motion (2018)
#duszaniespokojna #stinger #arteon
Thus, haldex made our day, today:)
now this is the shit I subscribed for
no front EDL on the Stinger, otherwise good. A lot of cars are the same.
I think it's there but it's just slight amount of torque going to the front.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers
Yeah but if both back wheels are spinning and the car not moving couldn't the system simply brake the front spinning wheel with the ABS system in order to send torque to the wheel with grip through the front differential?
@@AlainHubert It is not that easy. Breaking means that engine torque must be increased, clutch-pack compression must be increased etc. Quite complicated algorithms.
German engineering (incl. software) with competence. That's it what it need! ;-)
Legacy would smoke it
@@Suleimenoff haha
Would it help if changing it to ECO mode on the stinger as that mode changes AWD split from 40:60 (comfort) to 50:50?
So, the stingers systems works like xdrive?
The same hardware, different software.
4x4 tests on rollers - duszaniespokojna channel okay
Longitudinal front engine, awd layout
VW Arteon just needs a bigger engine(3L) for its size & it would be perfect.
There is none in the lineup that would fit (VW would need to resurrect the VR6 line), but the 2.5 5-cyl from audi RS3 would fit ideally.
demboos that’s what i thought. The 2.5 tfsi on the R Line Arteon would be perfection
Bruno Mema and I thought VW was working on a 3.0L VR6 engine 400+HP for Arteon R line.
@@destroyedsoul1791 Yes! Is true
@@destroyedsoul1791 no! It will be Arteon R
VW very good!
At the end of the day it should depend on AWD System are good stinger is much faster and better processed anyone who knows about cars would always take stinger ...
Interessting Video. Thanks. Was it the PreFacelift (370 HP) or the Facelift (with particlefilter and 366 HP)? The Facelift do have a limited slip diff at rear axle, the prefacelift don't have.
To be honest - I don't know, car produced in 2019. Are you sure about lsd? As far as I am concerned - only rwd versions have lsd.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I'm sure. I drive a GT PreFacelift. With the Facelift the 4WD V6 get the diff as well in european market. Also the particlefilter (petrol) for 6d temp, better headup and better material for the seats. 2019 stinger should be the model with diff, cause since 08/18 its the Facelift. I think the preface model is maybe worse when only one rear wheel is on ground.
(but nevertheless: I love the stinger. Drove some good and fast cars over the years, for me, even it is not perfect, one of the best cars of the last years)
@@Brixton4g From what I see in Kia specifications - only GTS version with D-AWD has rear lsd. Other versions with standard AWD have rear open diff.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I'm no mechanic and it is possible, that I'm wrong. But I'm sure it's a lsd in the german models (and possible in the other eu models). Cause with the Facelift AWD it's possible to drift and it is what my Dealer, some magazines and people in the german Facebook group say. But I will do some closer research.
@@Brixton4g Let me know if you get any official info. I see that with D-AWD you can choose Sport mode (20/80 front/rear split) or Drift mode - entirely RWD.
Wonder the test of Phaeton 4Motion?
If we only find it...
Did you try esp off but traction control on with the stinger? I bet if you kept the traction control on but the esp on the stinger it would have got off. Problem with the esp is it reduces engine power too much to where it isnt making enough power for the system to transfer to the one wheel with traction. That's one of the thing I like so much about my 03 land rover discovery, the traction control system doesn't reduce engine power when it's working the way all of these newer vehicles do.
If I remember well - that's not possible to do in Stinger. TC off/ESP on or TC off/ESP off are the options.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers oh okay. Too bad you cant disable the esp but still keep traction control on.
Did you ever have ABS and/or ESP malfunction lights appearing on the dashboard during the tests? For example when rear wheels are spinning on rollers and front wheels are stationary.
It happened twice, in two older cars.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers thank you. I had that on my 530d E39. Just thought if ABS light comes on during the test, it deactivates all features such as EDL that help the car to get off the rollers.
Is this the same system they have in the k5 awd?
What's K5?
The Kia k5
@@nickallen3087 Unfortunately I don't know this model 😐
the AWD Kia Stinger has the exact same AWD system as BMW's xDrive. It's made by Magna International.
It's called Actimax. But that's just mechanical part, control software is different.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers
I didn't know that. Thanks. It would be interesting to compare a BMW with xDrive against an AWD Kia Stinger with the same tests.
O/T: It might be interesting if you could get hold of Tesla Model 3 with the latest software to compare with the previous (which was very good) test.
If there is any software update - all Tesla cars get it online. Was there an update for awd system?
What did you have the stinger in for a mode......the modes heavily change awd system....plus in the three wheel test you had the one grip wheel in the front on the stinger (rwd bias) while the vw you had the same set up being front wheel drive bias isn’t that set up for the vw to do it and not the stinger?....
There were no modes in this Stinger, just TC & ESP off.
All combinations of tests are included for both cars so what exactly is your question?
4x4 tests on rollers - duszaniespokojna channel all stingers have modes Especially the GT. Modes are eco, normal, sport, custom....all modes besides custom change the awd system percentage from rear to front......i.e sport mode 80% rear 20%front which in these test make a big difference
@@InfoumusMOBB Can you link any official source about modes changing the awd torque split in Stinger AWD (not D-AWD)? This test was done in normal mode but I haven't heard about its correlation with awd system. Just steering response, transmission RPM shifting points, throttle response etc.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers lepszego rozwiązania nie mogli zrobić. Permanentny tył i w razie potrzeby dołączony przód.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers ok. Dzięki za wyczerpujące odpowiedzi. Gdzieś można o tym dokładniej poczytać ?
Świetny kanał.
Pozdrawiam

VW did better last position baut KIA is deffinitely a nicer car. I'd like to druve it ince for test.
Arteon all day
volks win but the kia is not bad
Not possible to do that.
Why Not Pressing the brake a little Bit?
Cause tricks are not the point of the test.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers thats a great base. So the haldex system won.
@@Pizzaschnitzer I wouldn't say "won" (or "lost"). There is completely different setup for these two awd systems.
I don't think that works on modern cars. Any application of brake cuts the throttle on my car.
I know braking used to help back in the day, but not today.
Your wheel direction indicator on bottom left corner need more color contrast between red and green
Why?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers less contrast. Maybe it would be better if the green is light green rather than dark green, also the red.
@@djhrjeiwhri There is no green. Red, grey and black. You must work on the contrast of your screen.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers im just give positive inputs to u.
@@djhrjeiwhri I appreciate but there's really no green...
the blue rollers are different than the red ones
These are the same rollers. Frames were slightly cut and repainted.

maybe you don't understand what luxury is LOL.
Sens of this test is near 0.
Like Fiat Panda 4x4 1970
vs Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.9.
VW drive has many problems. 50.000 km and damage.
And why is that 0, what exactly? Reliability has nothing to do with this.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers w sumie racja.
Hahahah are you serious!! Youre comparing german to Korean?!
What's so funny?
Their Parts come from the same developer so you comment could work 40 years ago

So the audi is slightly better
Audi...?
Volkswagen arteon...
Slightly better?? Really! The Kia never moved on the last one. the VW from the start. Buy an VW or better yet a Subaru. Korean cars sucks!

KOREAN CAR IS RUBISH
Your comment is rubish. Korean cars are now better than many American-made ones. By a long shot!
