never knew about that swallow and hold to flatten the adam's apple area 9:25 thanks for that! for years, I had only emulated holding a high or low pitch w/o speaking to bring it up or down
I just picked up one of these and plan on using it this week. Is this a good choice for sensitive skin? My hairs seem to come out and lay flat and curl… also, how long do the razors last? Love your vids. Thanks
So, the DE razors can be better for sensitive skin because of the single blade approach, which is less aggressive than multi blade cartridge razors. The best way to avoid ingrown hairs and irritation is to limit passes and to use light or minimal pressure.
@@averageguytested thank you very much. I tried it, light pressure and I had about 10 little nicks by the neck area where I am sensitive. Only 1 pass on a 2 day grow. Misses a lot of hairs. Any suggestions?
Never used a double edge safety razor and been using Gillette fusion proglide. What do you think about using DE razor (like this Gillette King C DE Safety razor) vs Gillette proglide power?
Here’s my take on the difference. The DE Safety Razor has a bit of a learning curve for most, but once you get the hang of it - they provide great shaves that are very economical, have a variety of blades to choose from for customization. Say you want more of an aggressive shave - go with a feather blade - for a milder cut try a Gillette Silver Blue and so on. Plus, there’s a world of shaving soap, after shave, brushes, bowls, etc, etc - to help elevate the shaving experience. That being said, a quality cartridge razor is simple and efficient at removing hair - period. They are quick, relatively worry-free and easy. Long way to say - venture into wet shaving for the experience or stay with carts for ease and speed. Hope this helps. Thanks for watch!
Which gives a better shave Shavelogic or King C DE razor? How do you know you are holding the DE razor at the proper angle? Also how do you properly shave along the jaw line and chin line without gouging yourself with a DE razor?
@@averageguytestedThanks for your reply. Love all your videos. Keep them coming. I have a King C on order from Amazon through your link. I will still give it a try at some point in the future.
A word to the wise, I'm 63 years old and have used lots of razors. Pick up some cheap (Top Co) razors. You'll get 5 shaves from them and ten blades for under $3.00.
I have tried so many razors but none of them compare to my Rockwell 6C or 6S with the possible exception of the Karve razor (C plate). A little dab didn't do me, all the gals didn't pursue me!!
Guessing you used the Gillette Platinum blades that came packed in. Considering they charge more than twice as much compared to most DE blades, I'd hope they come with that Gillette quality you'd expect when you pay out for Mach 3/Fusion blades. There's nothing to stop you loading whatever blades you prefer into the razor anyway. Unless the blade quality convinces you otherwise (I know people who refuse to use anything but Gillette so wonder if this product is for them)
@cattysplat That's a great thing about a double-edge razor, when you need new blades, you can buy whatever brand you like and you pay a moderate to low price for them. The razor (I have a Merkur that I use for my neckline; yes, I have a beard) can, intially, be rather expensive but, in the long run, it's actually cheaper as opposed to (in my opinion) the junk that passes for cartridge razors.
It's a good razor, though the handle is quite bad - the carving pattern is too short and spiral shaped, which makes the grip really uncomfortable. However, the shave I get from this razor is very good. Besides, the Gillette Heritage is much better - the same smooth but much more efficient.
@@averageguytested 😂😂😂 Worse than cartridge razor, maybe because my technique is bad, I'm thinking to buy Feather blade or to save some money for Braun series 9 or Andis Titanium TS 2 electric razor because I really want close shave
Was looking at this safety razor at the store yesterday, but I somehow decided against it for now. But I feel like I will buy it next time. For now I will stick with what oneblade can do 😎
@@averageguytested ty for your respond but you didn't respond to another of my question from another video you made. so i'm asking it again: do you think of making a vidoe with henson safety razor?
I am very upset with this razor and these dull blades. Don't recommend this crap. I tried to use Japanese blades for better perfection but without success. The razor is crap.
Just bought it and tried it and had an amazing no nick no irritation shave
It’s very good. Enjoy!

The problem is that the Razor machine is expensive in Egypt Its price is 700 pounds, which is equivalent to 15 dollars.
Hello friend. King camp gillette vs Edwin jagger DE89??? What is better??

Hello, if you compare it with de 89, which cut is better?
The 89

Hey William - based on your concerns I’d say SHAVELOGIC- or any other premium cartridge razor will give your a better - more worry-free shave.

after i've used a twist-to-open,(Slim Adjustable) i can't go back to a three/two piece razor.
I may be getting one - we’ll see

You need to get a Wahl at home hair cutting machine, it's real easy and with the money you save, you can spend it on food.
I should.

Dont use brush to lather your foam. Instead use a small amount and apply on skin direction. But i suggest you to use natural soaps

King Tony!, Great shave, the Gillette DE's form factor is on point, will definitely be upgrading from my Wilkinson Sword Classic now👍
Sounds good to me!
How does the king c compare to the merkur 34c in general?
Night and day. The King C is much more hefty

with all the gillette products that pharmacies (jean coutu, pharmaprix etc...) sell i just don't know why they don't sell this new range of gillette.
I think it’s too expensive for the target audience at the pharmacies
