CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Kelly (Lucinda Dickey) and the gang dance and sing their way to Miracles, a dance community center.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Breakdancing, hip-hop, rap, and a good time are the main stars of this standard teen movie about youths trying to raise money to save their community club from being razed for a shopping mall. Ozone (Adolfo Quiñones) and Turbo (Michael Chambers) are two master breakdancers who have started a community club to teach other teens how to manage the acrobatics of the dance without literally breaking anything. Their efforts create some choreographed, group breakdancing that is rather innovative. But an evil developer (Peter MacLean) sees their property as ideal for a shopping mall project -- and a crooked politician is willing to back him up for a fee. As the teens do their best to raise money to keep their center, some are also battling with restrictive parents or trying to ease into romantic liaisons that offer their own challenges.

I'm going to assume this a spot on depiction of every day life in the 80's.
Sometimes It could be tough,
you just needed some quick groceries
and you ended up body-popping in extended dance numbers in the street...
Jacob Ahlgren hell ya breakdance happen at in time
This is the epitome of childhoods in the 80's and 90's
Take me there lol
Not enough cocaine.
This scene is where the music fit the scene perfectly. It really gives you the sense of community and togetherness of all the neighborhood's kids and the town itself.
You are right about that
RIP Shabba Doo, this movie was my childhood, 6yr old me thought Miracles was real lol
Got! Damn! 1984 the energy level was off the charts!! The music! The dancing. Boom boxes, cardboard boxes. Popping and breaking any and everywhere. It will never never be another time like that!! I love!! My generation.. Hip Hop and you don't stop! 50+ yrs later and we still going... 1965 - 1980
Why will there not be a time like that today??? Your negative thinking is a problem with social media. See the bigger picture and think outside the box.
@@donniebrasco1364 cause the internet has destroyed society. go outside, nobody is outside in the community. other than homeless
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's a trip that Breakn 1 and 2 both came out in 1984. I thought part 2 came out in '86
Man, this is so nostalgic for me. It brings back memories of when my older brother and 1 of my cousins used to walk around the neighborhood, with a flattened out cardboard box wearing our windbreaker tracksuits looking for a battle. Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2 weren’t going to win any awards for the acting, but the choreography especially for its time was something special. Even the “extras” from the landscapers, the telephone pole worker and even the old ladies were jammin.’ Continue to rest easy Shabba Doo aka Ozone, you were in a class of your own.
By the time Break'in 2 Electric boogaloo came out in the theater 🎭, I was already pretty good break dancer, it was because of Aldolfo Shabba Doo Quinones that I developed a love 💕 for the art of breakdancing. An iconic legend that gave life to the early Hip Hop culture. R. I. P Shabba Doo.🌹🌹🌹🌹💖🌻🌻🌻🌻🌼🌼🌼🌺🌺🌺🏵️🏵️
I don’t care how many times that I watch this! It never gets old!!!
Lucinda Dickey ❤
1:06 the big lady dancing with a cantaloupe is a whole mood
I wish people still did this instead of fighting. Solved with a break dancing battle! LOL! Love it!
Omg that old be really cool man fighting breaking dance scene
Right Shawnee Blaine! I would be practicing to win!
Haha me too
LOL!

Damn. The 80’s looks hella fun! Honestly I wanna go back in time just to experience this decade
Almost anything can look good from a distance.
@@JoshuaHammond-ei2zj yeah and racism problems
@@cps1247 Exactlyyyyy yo the fact no one acknowledges the extreme issues back then is insane
Actually….80s were pretty fun 🤩
You are not the only one.!
the 80's was a fun fashion era, cause you could literally where anything and be stylish, I still love this movie, it's cheesy but fun good movie
yeah I agree, people now are way too self-conscious and scared to be made fun of, that is why everyone looks the same
@@SurgeCess I definitely agree
Breakin' 1 is still WAYYYYYYY better than this one! I only wish Sabrina Garcia was in THAT one instead!
Well said x
Everybody look so happy 💯 wish the world 🌍 can be like this 💙
Dance movies are not flicks we watch for great plots and acting. That said, the street dancing here is top notch!
For anyone interested, this sequence occurs entirely in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The group starts on Guirado St near Camulos and dances down the hill to Orme Ave. The next segment with the band shell takes place at Hollenbeck Park. They end up on Calle Pedro Infante where there is presently La Casa Del Mexicano.
The song is Electric Boogaloo by Ollie & Jerry. I miss LA :)
At 1:46 that's Jimmy Hernandez RIP Cousin
I bet someone is gonna reply with a "who asked"
The kids dancing x not smoking weed X not in gangs just dancing x and having. Fun with all Thier friends X I live in England X and reamber X breakdance guys dancing in town X with Thier gettho blaster's X X bring so lino to dance on X oh and lot batteries X for best box lol X ps andd in 1970s early breakdance X stuff x
I figured it was somewhere in California. The neighborhood was a dead giveaway lol
1:40 I just realized why I've been doing the "Air Guitar" dance since elementary school!!! LOL
Dude was BREAKIN IT DOWN on that telephone pole! 😎😁

After all that dancing he went home but forgot to fix the phone line 🤣
I'm still in love with Turbo's girl!!!
It’s 2021 hiii
Me too!
I was 11 yrs old when this movie came out. Back then there were no worries all you did was dance. Music was so pure and beautiful just PRICELESS ......:>...
I was probably 2 months old lol
I wish I could be as cool as the guy with the sideways red hat
you are that cool
I just love how everyone knows how to dance
Back in the 80s when we all got along, we didn't care about peoples skin color. We loved one another, now they got us fighting so they can do things while we are preoccupied.
And the rich are much richer. Something tells me that the media divides us by skin color in order to distract us from the gross economic inequality. You realize that the USA has a history of doing this since Bacon's Rebellion and Jim Crow?
@@chamboyette853 I think I saw a statistic where WW2 destroyed a lot of rich people's fortunes, and they spread out among the poor.
Slowly though, the rich have regained their share of world wealth back to pre-WW2 percentages in 2010
@@CrabTastingMan nah, the rich got richer during world war ii, just like they do in every crisis. it's definitely far worse now, but that's just a result of a system designed to exploit people who work for a living
Its dope to see all different races together with no issues or cares
That’s real hip hop
Something tells me that the media today divides us by skin color in order to distract us from the gross economic inequality. You realize that the USA has a history of doing this since Bacon's Rebellion and Jim Crow?
Still like that only issues with race
are the ones hyped up by media, made up for attention, or used for political votes
@@chamboyette853 People can think for themselves im not blaming the media. If people dont want to investigate for themselves its on them.
A Time To Be Alive!
Wonderfull,I miss the 80's!😔💖
It's a good thing everyone in this entire town is a professional dancer.
this movie takes me back to where life and dancing was special to me and the feel of the beat!!
I literally love this movie id watch it 1'000 times
Miracles is located in East LA California and it's still there today
Some scenes were filmed in a blood neighbourhood
born in 1987, I would legitimately give up everything to live in that era...I MEAN EVERYTHING
You lived at the end of it.
On god bruh
me too! I was born in 85 and grew up with so many 80s shows and toys between the years of 89 - 91 in trinidad
@@EatinOffMyOwnPlate he didn't even live it, he wa a baby.

Didn't know Easy - E worked for the telephone company before NWA.
RIP OZONE
Brother killed it with the Fade/Mullet/Jerry Curl. Then had to over due it with the tight tank top/belly shirt.
Lol
Jeff Bogard that’s the 80’s for you, I’m kinda bummed due to the fact I was born nearly 20 years after it.
shabadoo and shrimps clothing style lmao! Watched beat street man those cats in nyc and bronx had all the style still relevant today.
Buck Canon well had thing inncali
I think in Beatstreet the cast dressed themselves while Breakin was more mainstream & marketed to pop audience. They could never have that Ramo scene in Breakin lol
R.I.P.
I want to go back in time so I can see what it’s like to grow up in the 80’s!
I love the love connection had with Turbo and that Spanish chica and it was on a dance level !!!!
Turbo and the Spanish Chica make a cute couple
RIP Adolfo Ozone

Exactly. It was awesome….people weren’t busy posting narcissist selfies of themselves…they were just dancing
This reminds me of what used to be like in Bronx. All the kids crazy for breakdancing

girl the way you're walkin' just enthuses me

And thus. A meme was born
Not from the movie itself, from the film’s title
love it and yes it would be better to dance then fight
Anyone here from Atlanta, Georgia, who went to the teen under 21 dance club on Powers ferry Road called Mardi Gras? Popular under 21 dance club back in the 80s. I think now they turned it into a strip joint but back in the 80s. It was the place to dance and have fun.
Take me back to those days !! Maaaaan !
this was THEEE go to vhs movie in the 80's...
What a time to be alive

*Keep Dancing and REMEMBER!*
Like all those Karate movies...where everyone knows Karate😂😂
I was 16 years old. In Australia. Im a white Aussie Bogon. i saw this at the cinemas, hitch hiked home, grabbed a sheet of lino, tore the sleeves off my raincout and away I went. i actually did Crazylegs at the blue light disco......BADLY. A white kid in the 80s breakdancing on a piece of old flooring. Cringing HARD.

How America should’ve rolled up to the 2024 Paris Olympics
The 80s was the shiiiziitte
Every time it played on cable, I had an inexplicable obligation to watch it.
I was born in 03’ My generation will not know or understand how great this movie is. My dad showed me this when I was like 8 and i fell in love with absolutely everything 1 & 2 🥹
I think dude in the red pants killed it. 1:45
