Depends where you were. For instance New York City, where breakdancing/B-boy/hip hop culture came from was 10 million times more dangerous in the 70's, 80's and 90's than today. Since then it's been turned into Disney Land compared to back then. Even places like Time Square was all pimps, prostitutes, drugs users and dealers, porn theaters. All the footage you see in this video of burned out buildings and empty lots filled with rubble, none of these places exist in NYC now. Imagine a world with NO CELLPHONES, a place where social media is simply meeting REAL FRIENDS in the mall or at the arcade . A world where illicit drugs DON'T EXIST and folks of all races are as familiar to each other as our OWN skin .

I remember the day we watched this movie with my sister and brother. We couldn't get transport back home and walked about 15km home singing all the way. Didn't even feel the distance we walked was long with all the break dance music and dances still on our minds

Took me back to the Boogie Down Bronx 7yrs old 1984. We watched the big kids breakin in the school yard on the cardboard. My cousin and I eventually got good and joined them on the cardboard. What a time to be a kid in NYC. Old school NY. You had to be there to understand.
I truly wish he had known that break dance will be in the Olimpics ! He was the pioneer! ! Thanks to him ! Amazing performer and super charismatic. Inspiration to millions all over the world wish his moves ! I hail all the way from Brazil !
