I started gardening during covid with just a few containers and my garden has grown year after year! Each year I add something new to my gardening skill set...vermicomposting, growing different veggies, cover cropping, winterizing, etc. Gardening is like one science experiment after another and I just love it! :)
Nice video with an excellent message Gary. I've got the neighbors growing food in their backyards. Mostly herbs and leafy greens but I also give them tomato plants to grow over Summer. I'd like to get the whole street growing.😊 Cheers!

Merry Christmas Gary. I just took a look at my cauliflower and broccoli. I have several broccoli heads that are ready to harvest, and just in time for Christmas dinner. I have a couple heads that are still developing and need more time. The cauliflower needs another week, but will certainly be ready in time for New Years. I can harvest beets, carrots, and parsnips any time I like. That means... I've made it year round in zone 7a. If I can do it, anyone can. It is all about picking the right varieties, and being stubborn as hell.

Merry Christmas Gary, Long time follower first time commenting. Prompted by that outstanding beard for 2025:) I have learned a lot and recommended you many times to fellow gardeners. Thank you for being the master/mentor teacher that you are. Particularly enjoy the style. It was a couple of years before I even knew what you looked like as the focus was always on the garden task and the lesson with your calm voice narrating. The lessons are universal to all zones even in deep southeast Texas. I have had to grow different varieties, and that is the fun, new gardeners, always learning and adapting your garden to suit your climate and soil. Pay attention, Gary's advice is Gold. And yes he taught me everything about growing and transplanting from seeds. This gives you the ability to grow varieties not available locally and you save a ton of money past the initial investment in grow light set up. Look forward to starting 2025 with your lessons. And you can always pick up on something new by watching the sensei do something you though you already knew.
