Torn Edge Photo Effect Using GIMP - Create a Ripped Border Around an Image

In this video I show you how to tear the edges off a photo using GIMP using the paintbrush tool, a selection, layer Mask, and the bucket fill tool.
If you ever wanted to make an image that looked like the edges were torn off, this is the video for you. The effect is artistic and it is actually pretty simple. There are probably other ways to do this, but this video shows how I do it.
