Monsiour Davies. I have to say, your tutorials are exemplary. You explain things well and go right in to the finishing touches that really add the wow factor. Inspirational. Thank you
I re-did this tutorial after taking your course, and wow... when i first did it it was very difficult, but now it was not much more than a breeze, for m!!!! amazing how time chnges you...
Great video, thank you very much. I have one problem which is that after updating to the latest version of GIMP "Guides" is no longer an option in the Image dropdown. Have you any idea whats caused that?
so ive follewed the video and made an image with the sphere, really nice, is there a way to simple save all this work as a template and then change the base image ?
Nice job dude. I think it would be more realistic if you had added shadow under the bulb and gradually added blur to the background using layer mask and gradient tool. Thanks for the tutorial.
Okay, I've encountered a problem... I don't know if things has changed with the upgrades to Gimp (I'm still using the 2.10.30 version) .. but I am unable to create the path around the inner circle to create the shading. Any tips?
@RDE Lutherie She can, if she arrive and the view meter is at zero, she can say _I am the first person to see this video_ FYI The views meter is below the title.
It's probably because you have a live selection area around the area you are trying to scale, so once you apply the scale GIMP places the scaled pixels from the selection area on a new floating selection layer. Simply deselect the selection area before you scale (ctrl+shift+a).
I hit the delete key on the circle layer and it will not delete the circle from the layer. It actually isn't doing anything. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I am on a mac btw.
Great video , make more manipulation videos 👍👍👍

Awesome video and way of explaining the steps. I've learned so much from your videos. You are the absolute truth. Thanks!!
Mike, high quality as always and this will be good fun to use. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent!!! What if someone wanted a droplet shape. Not just a sphere. Is it possible?
7:45 Help>Search and run a command, Thats a life saver.... never knew before thanks for mentioning 👍
Me gustan mucho los tutoriales que haces y aprendo muchas cosas con ellos. Grcias
Thank you for this! Reminds me of the 'Balls and Bubbles' filter in Paint Shop Pro X, a program that was on my old computer.
I'll try this project this weekend. Thanks Mike
Very impressive.
You are a Godsend

As usual great tutorial.
Just a question that bothers me: To be realistic shouldn't the image be also flipped leftright?
Indeed, to be realistic the image should have been flipped leftright as well
I'm not against it lol. Try it out.
You really are an artist. Thanks for this, but I now realize I'll never have the eye of a real graphic designer.
Hi, i cant select a path! I come till the new sphere layer but after that gimp dont let me create a selection to the path! What can i do?
I am the first person to see this video

Every time I scale the image it automatically adds a floating selection. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Thank you. I will try again. I really want to learn how to edit at a more advanced level.
@@DaviesMediaDesign Nice it works, thx!

Make sure you are hitting the delete key and not the backspace key. If it's still not working, go to Edit>Clear.
Gimp latest version 2021 can’t see spherelize it’s not listed
*Spherize - if you misspell it it won't display in the Search Actions dialogue.
