It’s so special interviewing your Mom! You both are beautiful and strong. My prayer is for y’all’s continued health and strength. God Has a powerful plan and you’re serving others with the Hope and Love that He’s Given you!💐 💛Thank you!
Thank you so much for being so open to talking about your cancer journey. You both are so strong. It got to the point on Valentine’s Day where I had to shave my head. My two daughters did it for me. I see the bond that you and your mom have. I hope my daughters can remember these times and gain strength from it in the future. It’s so true about what your mom said about gaining your strength for a week and losing it all over again. One day at a time.
I’m glad your daughters can be there for you! Losing your hair is a significant part of the journey. Remember to let others know how you are doing and what you need. They don’t always know how to help so I have to remind myself to communicate. Much love to you all! ❤️
Y’all are so strong, brave and encouraging! I’m dealing with breast cancer for the first time. The plan is lumpectomy and radiation. I’ve watched a lot of your videos already. Thank you!!
How is mum doing? I hope things are ok. I just got diagnosed and will start treatment Monday. Prayer really helps indeed 🙏 you are both proof to all that a positive, hopeful attitude really pays off. I wish you both the best!
My mom is doing great. She is feeling well, and her hair is growing. Good luck on your treatment. I do believe there’s always hope and your attitude will help on this journey. Thank you!
She looks good. You are both so kind to share with us. I am 3 treatments away from finishing Chemo and going on to Radiation. But teeth pain and cracking teeth happening now. Google suggested might be neuropathy if so suzi ice gloves and feet had helped no problem on these parts. Cheers Doro
What a special person your mom is! I just found this in .y feed and am soo glad I watched. You are blessed to have her with you in your journey thru this and I hope that you're fine. Be well, stay blessed, Glory to God Always
I just love your videos Marina your mom is so sweet thank you so much for sharing your journey you have made such difference in so many of our lives with your positivity and grace I look forward to all your videos.
Hi Marina! I see where u get your beauty. You look just like your mom! Such a great video …your mom is amazing ! Must be so nice to have her help you through the cancer journey. Did she have TNBC too? Much love to you both. Your stories keep me going when I’m feeling down and alone!💕
Hi Karen! Thank you so much! Having my mom for inspiration was a huge help to me! I’m so thankful! She was triple negative the first two times. With a positive hormone receptor the third time. Much love to you! I always look forward to seeing the comment from you! ❤️
@@MarinaBlackford I have my MRI on the 28th then see my oncologist on the first. Praying for clear scans. Your videos always bring me comfort and help curb the anxiety. I definitely look forward to all your tips and insight.
you guys are such strong warriors. im so happy ive found your page the way you and your mom are just so positive it is so warming. My mom is a breast cancer survivor as well she beat it in 2008, we unfortunately found out today the cancer is back in her breast where currently waiting on future appointments to find out if the cancer has spread. i have two question im hoping you can at least put my mind at ease. i remember when it was 2008 watching my mom go though chemo it was very hard for her it was a struggle every day since your mom is maybe around my moms age i was hoping you can tell me if chemo for back then has change for the better to chemo now i heard story's where chemo has made a-lot of improvement since then i wanted to get your take on it. second question i am her son and i know it uncomfortable for her to tell me about a-lot of her issue any ideas on how a son can be more comforting and for her to open up a little more i want to help her as best i can. i really am happy i found your page i plan on watching your journey with my mom i know it will make her more happy to see two powerful lady's be so positive in this life . Thank you so muchhhh ❤
Hi Andy! Thank you for watching and doing the research for your mom! You’re a good son! Chemo options have changed a little. AC chemo is the same but they only do that one once. They likely won’t do AC chemo again and that is a tough one. I would say the oncology teams try to manage symptoms well with all the premeds of anti nausea and steroids. They can adjust meds as needed if your feeling nauseous, bloated, etc. I hope her journey goes well!
I totally look forward to your videos! It was nice hearing from your mom as well, she’s a strong beautiful soul & it shows. Wishing you both continued healing & the best of health going forward. This may or may not be a little uncomfortable, but I was wondering if you could share some tips on how to navigate in the area of grown folks business while undergoing chemotherapy. Condoms will definitely be used… that’s kind of a given but I just wanted to know if there were any tips you had in that regard being that you’re a vet in this, you get me? Lol I’ve done a whole lot of research & I’ve learned that you can pass these very toxic chemo fluids to your healthy partner through even kissing.. & I don’t wanna get personal of course but it’s something I think about & will bring up to my oncologist before actually starting chemo because my #1 aim is to be safe for myself & to also ensure the safety of my partner. Sorry this comment is so long haha.
“Honey!” Hi and thank you! Great question, I was told no exchanging bodily fluids for at least 2 days after chemo. My husband and I would follow that rule. We were able to be intimate after that as long as I felt good and not nauseous, another reason to drink your water! The mental game of intimacy during treatment is a big factor as well. I recommend affirmations, like “I’m beautiful as I am!” And put on something sexy and light a candle to set the mood! 😉❤️
Thank you for sharing your mom with us, great interview. I am 1 month post chemo and looking for "little sprouts" of hair. I tend to wear a hat all the time, should I "let my head breathe?" Does that help with hair regrowth.
Hi Kim! I’m so happy to hear you’re done with chemo! Congrats! I think wearing hats is fine but give your scalp a break at home. I recommend gentle scalp scrubs or massages right now to stimulate the follicles.
Hi Marina, thanks a lot for all interesting information you spread. One question, concerning your mom : how does breast cancer came back the third time, as she already had a double mastectomy ? Does it came back through permeation lump on or under her chest skin ? (I'm french, I hope I made the right translation for "nodule de perméation").
My mom is totally free from Cancer after her repeated test prove negative.its my great pleasure to thank you sir.keep saving life Dr emuakhe on RUclips..
My mom was officially diagnosed with second recurrence the same day I found out my treatment plan. We see the same oncologist. It was devastating to hear after 26 years breast cancer free!! 🥺💔 Long story short, she's doing well. Survival rate is VERY good considering as it was the same tumor. A cancer cell was asleep 26 yrs years, no joke! 😳
Very touching interview. You are both beautiful. Can you tell me what your mom's full diagnosis was each time. Type, stage, grade, estrogen driven? Blessings to you both🙏💞
I believe she was similar to me the first 2 times: stage 2 due to the size of tumors, no lymph node involvement, lymph nodes removed and dissected, and triple negative (no hormones positivity). This last time she had a hormone positive receptor, I think HER2. I don’t know her grades. I was grade 3 or fast growing.
Hi! Yes, your taste is changed during chemo. Food can be disappointing. I recommend pure ingredients like lemon, garlic or pure maple syrup to enhance meals. Soups and smoothies were a favorite of mine. Tortilla soup with fresh lime, oatmeal with cinnamon and maple syrup. I loved Chinese food during my treatment because the garlic, sesame and soy sauce flavors came through well.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Moms journey. Did her Drs also recommend a hysterectomy because of the braca gene?
Hi Sunny! You’re welcome! Thank you for asking. Yes, they did recommend a hysterectomy and she had one after her second diagnosis.
Strong ladies ..which type of cancer did you have?
Triple negative breast cancer, BRCA1. Invasive ductal carcinoma the first time.
Hi Marina, thanks a lot for all interesting information you spread.

Does it came back through permeation lump on or under her chest skin ? (I'm french, I hope I made the right translation for "nodule de perméation").
Hi, thank you Sylvia. Cancer returned for us both on the side of our breast reconstruction under our armpit area near the ribs.

I do have a sister. She is not BRCA +. 🙏🏼
