I could have sworn i saw this thing on marketplace up around Reno/Tahoe area. I couldn't get away to go look at it. Its better off in your hands anyway. Make us proud buddy !
The bike you have is an XC 430 cross country. The CR models of that year had WP upside down forks. Also the XC models had the bigger tank that is on your bike.
God Bless Cam & his family, may God hold him in His healing arms and make him healthy and disease free. I had a buddy growing up that kept cycling through bouts of Leukemia, he'd fight it off with Chemo & treatment, work out and build himself back into shape only to have it come back time & time again...eventually Leukemia won, may Greg RIP. That was 35yrs ago, they've come so far since then, Cam can beat this. Prayers!
Sounds pretty crisp for just getting it fired. I really love this 80s Era of moto and those left kick with right side drive Euro bikes. Way more power than suspension and brakes..... hope you restore it. Prayers to Cameron
Love these old Husky’s restoring my 05 te250 4 stroke not the same but very interested in seeing how this one turns out, if you need any help on finding parts and what not cafe husky is a great resource for locating and giving places to get these parts for these older huskies
The left side kick start was also used by CZ earlier. Most people just stood on the left side of the bike & kicked with their right leg. CZ's kick start shaft was concentric with the shift shaft which was tidy & a bit lower than Husky's.
Have you found a resource for parts? I have the same bike but an 86 model. The casting numbers on the cylinder are the same for the 250, 400, 430 and 500
I was eye ballin that bike on market place went with a 95 cr 250 basket case instead Got her to fire. Going through everything.sick you got that to run.
Bought a new 85' cr 250 and my buddy got the 430 , they were both very fast and we had great times riding both that year , the 430 had great lower end power and could climb like crazy
Any ides where to get husqvarna parts? I bought a 2004 and it has a 2000 cr/wr250 husqvarna engine in it. And its missing the power valve arm and some small parts, I got it running but without the pv it has no top end because I manually set it so I had the bottom end mostly since I ride Enduro mostly.. im about done pulling my hair out trying to find parts and just big bore it and remove the pv.. I have my 2018 husqvarna 250 Enduro bike but it would be nice to have this one running proper as well and take it out sometimes or let a buddy ride it when we go for rides
I have a 85 400 WRX you think you're scared that thing not only started but put a hole and stuck in my boot and the kill switch didn't work it had a air leak so it was running wide open. I still have the bike it's one of the best riding bikes I have ever owned
Are you sure that’s the correct engine for that bike? I believe the 87 430 was a 3 speed automatic transmission? There’s a guy that shipped 7 of them to Australia in the early 90s and they were 3 speed autos. My friend had one, it wasn’t heaps quick for a big bore 2 banger.
Husky offered four 430cc models in 1987... CR (motocross/close ratio), XC (Cross Country), WR (Enduro/Wide Ratio), AE (Automatic Enduro). The CR's were 5 speed manual, the XC & WR were six speed manual, and the AE was 3 speed automatic transmission.
Is this the Husky model the Russian guy was riding at the 2t worlds and killing everyone , won 2 out of 3 and got a 2nd the 3rd race . Sik bike!!!! I can smell it from here
I raced both 430 & 500 back in the day the only thing that is the same is the bore 430 has short rod 500 has long rod the 430 u have is a 6 speed the 500 is a 4 speed unless its a dessert 500 however the 430 is a better motor for alot of reasons i went to 430 its alot easer to start and less risk of cracking the case on kickstart support shaft do to long rod 500 u can interchange u have to change the crank and cylinder and pipe for port location not worth it !! the 430 is a much better motor in all mx or scramble as it makes power everywhere and revs to the moon !!
The way you started talking about cameran I thought you where going to build the bike and raffle it off to someone and give the funds to cam for his cancer expenses. Than you just changed the subject. Anyone in these comments who is able to donate to cam without putting themselves in a bad spot should
Not weird at all that it has a left side kick all bikes from the 60s,70s, and even in the 80s where mostly left side kick. So not weird you just don’t know much about the history of motocross bikes. Even Honda didn’t switch from left side kickstarter till I think 84 so you see the right side kickstarter is about as common as a left side kickstarter
To me, this is what it’s all about. Teaching the younger generations to love and appreciate all bikes and bikes in general
Indeed!!
That idle is awesome. Its super smooth! The fender doesn't even have a wiggle! 😎
Cameron Nimella prayers 🙏 ❤️!!!
great to see the young fella out there with you
thanks for your work work form Perth western Australia

Friend of mine had a Husky 430 with lighting he used on hare scrambles.

With my back and sciatica, could never have a left leg kick start bike. Right leg, always solid. Nutty bike!
Hell Yeah!!! That is an awesome machine and I know you are going to bring it back to its former glory!!! Bad ass shades, what kind are they?
I’m not going to lie. I don’t care about the bike but at the end of the day that’s Fkg awesome. Bike is crispy! Congrats Clint. Another bike saved.
OH YEA that expansion chambers cracked, hope that doesnt end up being impossible to find bro

I saw this bike on market place for a couple weeks. Cool to see it on RUclips
Love it man!!!❤
The old school for ya I had a ktm 86 250 with the kicker on the same side
Very cool bike! I'm confused tho, how does the 500 share the exact same piston, cylinder and bottom end? Something needs to be different in there?
Giant heads on the 500. Lol jk idk either. Maybe the rod is longer and a deeper head.
That's an xc not cr.....note the tall tank and the swingarm says cross country. Still an awsome find!
I have a WR 430 87 in mint condition ☺️ awesome bike!
Bought a new 85' cr 250 and my buddy got the 430 , they were both very fast and we had great times riding both that year , the 430 had great lower end power and could climb like crazy

first thing i noticed was the kickstart

Don't you have plenty of other bike projects to finish first 😂
