    Finally 😭 been searching for jackfruit curry like how my ma used to make for me definitely going to take my first try to making it though I will have to make a little cause only my late ma and I eat it in my family, will follow your recipe thank you ma 🌼🙏

      Some stores sell green jackfruit in a can. If you can get some of that as a start you can cook a smaller quantity…

      @@GaithreeDeviLuckan ended up getting the whole jackfruit but followed your recipe today and it tasted sooo good took me back to my childhood and to top it up I now know how to cut and clean my own jackfruit 😄 thank you so much once again ☺

    Auntie, you made a delicious jack fruit curry. We also curry the jack fruit but we called it katahar curry. We cooked it whenever we have a pooja function. 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾

      We struggled to even get the jackfruit here in Joburg. So when we did we had to buy it!

    It's also safe to boil it with a little oil,then cut and clean it,much safer than oily slippery knife,and the stickiness from the jack fruit.Just a tip 😀

    Very nice dish!!! I no longer live where jackfruit grows to get it before it ripens. Does anyone know how to source fresh green jackfruit? I don't do cans. Thank you in advance.

      The other half was too ripe for pickle. When we get jackfruit again, we will try to show it.

    Hi Aunty, awesome recipe. Really loved the cutting and cleaning technique. Looks delicious! ❤👌 Since aunty only used half the jackfruit, what is the best way to preserve the remainder and how long can it be kept?

      We steamed the other half just like we did the first half and then drain it thoroughly and put it in the freezer in an air tight container

      Use the same steaming method drain cool completely n freeze separately. 😎

      Jack fruit pickle is an option. Maybe aunt can take us through this process.

      @@tubbymoodley2851 our jackfruit was turning ripe so it wouldn’t make good pickle. Next time we get jackfruit we will try a pickle. If the jackfruit is green.

    Looks lovely as usual. The cleaning is quite prohibitive to making this dish. Someone mentioned to me that you can purchase cleaned and cut jackfruit. Will use your method and let you know how it came out.

    I was so fascinated watching this video, I have never tasted jack fruit either, so what's the taste like, Mrs Devi looks more like brinjals,

      It has almost a meaty taste to it but not quite there. I think it is quite hard to describe except for it tasty really good and filling.

    If I have 2 prepare this jackfruit for about 8 people, pls tell me what will be the amount of all the spices and salt

      Hi. We used 1/2 the jackfruit we had at the beginning of the video. That is sufficient to feed 6-8 people so the spices we used in this video should be a good start. Adjust for your spiciness preference and salt preference.
      All the ingredients used are also in the description of the video as well.

    I want to know how to cook jackfruit. But we don’t get fresh green jackfruit here. We do get canned jackfruit here in Washington state USA 🇺🇸

      You can give the recipe a shot with the canned jackfruit, except you may want to skip the step of steaming. Canned jackfruit is a lot softer and will also cook faster in the curry…
