It's also safe to boil it with a little oil, then cut and clean it,much safer than oily slippery knife, and the stickiness from the jack fruit.Just a tip 😀

Very nice dish!!! I no longer live where jackfruit grows to get it before it ripens. Does anyone know how to source fresh green jackfruit? I don't do cans. Thank you in advance.
Hi Aunty, awesome recipe. Really loved the cutting and cleaning technique. Looks delicious! ❤👌 Since aunty only used half the jackfruit, what is the best way to preserve the remainder and how long can it be kept?
@@tubbymoodley2851 our jackfruit was turning ripe so it wouldn’t make good pickle. Next time we get jackfruit we will try a pickle. If the jackfruit is green.
Looks lovely as usual. The cleaning is quite prohibitive to making this dish. Someone mentioned to me that you can purchase cleaned and cut jackfruit. Will use your method and let you know how it came out.
Hi tnks l am going to try yre receipe l do mke but as my mom taught me but u mst try steaming the whole thing in a pot for 15 min remove it slice and clean is mch mch easier tnks my angel

Hi. We used 1/2 the jackfruit we had at the beginning of the video. That is sufficient to feed 6-8 people so the spices we used in this video should be a good start. Adjust for your spiciness preference and salt preference. All the ingredients used are also in the description of the video as well.
You can give the recipe a shot with the canned jackfruit, except you may want to skip the step of steaming. Canned jackfruit is a lot softer and will also cook faster in the curry…
Looking sooo delicious 😊just love Jack fruit curry
Thanks a lot!
Love this dish, grew up with jackfriut growing in our yard. Love it both ways.
Both pickle and curry? We are really enjoying the pickle we made now that it’s ready!

Some stores sell green jackfruit in a can. If you can get some of that as a start you can cook a smaller quantity…

Hi Aunt, thank you for this recipe. Well done. I will certainly try this week.

hi aunt thank you for all your recipes please show us how to make jackfruit pickle with the half that you have .thank you
The other half was too ripe for pickle. When we get jackfruit again, we will try to show it.

Hi Aunty, awesome recipe. Really loved the cutting and cleaning technique. Looks delicious! ❤👌 Since aunty only used half the jackfruit, what is the best way to preserve the remainder and how long can it be kept?
We steamed the other half just like we did the first half and then drain it thoroughly and put it in the freezer in an air tight container
@@GaithreeDeviLuckan Thank you so much. ❤
Use the same steaming method drain cool completely n freeze separately. 😎
Jack fruit pickle is an option. Maybe aunt can take us through this process.

I was so fascinated watching this video, I have never tasted jack fruit either, so what's the taste like, Mrs Devi looks more like brinjals,
It has almost a meaty taste to it but not quite there. I think it is quite hard to describe except for it tasty really good and filling.
