A challenging lesson for a beginner but useful. I've learned several new words and phrases thanks to your excellent pronunciation and explanations. Seeing Irish in a newspaper brings it to life. A good format.
I'm glad to see a newspaper in Irish. Getting folks literate in Welsh early on and creating a printing press culture is a big part of how Welsh kept going so well.
Dane a chara. That was a very useful lesson. If you could use this format more often it would certainly help us in understanding the written language. Great to have you back and hope you are feeling much better.Tóg go bog é anois .
OMG. I follow you on the driving licence channel and I've just realised that you were the same guy hahahahhaha. You are lovely. Thank you for your support.
Dia duit Dane, I enjoyed this one very much! It gives an idea of what might be going on in people's lives and what they are interested in. Thank you for the video!
I have a greater sense of being inside Irish culture Irish life as opposed to just learning words that may or may not bring me into Ireland if I can express the collapse of separation, or being more In Ireland and less in the Western US for a few minutes. Thanks.
Dia duit Dane! Ceann de na físeáin is mó riamh! Den chéad uair riamh tá cuid de nuachtán aistrithe agat! D'fhoghlaim mé a lán i ndáiríre! Go raibh míle maith agat agus!
Good! Thank you. What I would really like from you is your recommendation on Irish language books for beginners and intermediate. I’ve looked at publishers in Ireland but because my Irish is not good yet I have no way to judge these books. Then it would be great if you could read the books to us with didactic commentary. What do you think?
Dia dhuit Dane!Sásta tú a fheiceáil arís! Físeán iontach, thaitin an físeán mór liom agus d'fhoghlaim mé a lán focal nua ó d'fhíseán! Go raibh maith agat agus slán go fóill!
Thanks. I've heard you say the word dúshlán a few times now in various videos but I can't grammatically figure out why the S is silent. I know SH isn't a standard combo in Irish, is that why?
Good afternoon Dane. Could you please let me know where did you find the Irish language newspaper, and also where such newspapers( in the Irish language can be found?)
There's not many around that are widely available but you'll find some online if you Google it. This newsletter was in the Irish Independent every Wednesday.
Hello Dane, you have some great material! But would you ever consider making some RUclips videos that would teach Irish phonics for ages 4+? As there is not a lot of material out there for younger kids. Thank you

Thank you, yes I thought it would be useful to do something a little bit different
I'm glad to see a newspaper in Irish. Getting folks literate in Welsh early on and creating a printing press culture is a big part of how Welsh kept going so well.
Sadly it's mostly online these days, but we must adapt and evolve
Excellent! Brings back memories of my childhood in the National School.
Dane, This is a great video. It showed me a few phrases I would not have been able to translate.
We live and learn. Always remember that there's no such thing as failure, you either succeed or you learn.
I like hearing and reading together!
Also, if I miss your videos for a bit, I feel like I'm missing a friend and thought you'd like to know that.
That's nice to hear, thanks v much. Glad to hear you're enjoying the videos.
Dia duit, hope to see you make more videos soon, you've been a big help in my learning of Irish! Go raibh maith agat mo chara!
I hope to be able to return in the next few weeks 😊
Lovely, much thanks from a Swiss student! BTW I would become a patron for regular newspaper reads like that!
Thanks, best wishes. I hope to do more newspapers in the future

Fáilte ar ais a Dhane! Thank you for the handy tip with "against" as "in aghaidh"...I will remember this for both "facing an opponent" and as "face".
A good way to remember 🙂

Great lesson! anyone know where I can watch GAA games with Gaeilge commentary and English subtitles?
Try GAA go or Tg4
Hope evrything is going good for you. Also, hope you come back soon.
I'll be back very soon, just planning a new batch of videos as we speak 😁
Spraoi ... fun. Could that be the origin of the English word "spree"? The OED has no idea.
I'm not sure, not inconceivable

Do you think think there's a connection between "spraoi" and "spree"?
I'm not sure, might just be a coincidence
Are they still publishing Seachtain with the Indo?
Yes every Wednesday
