A broken down language , for a broken down people , i am off now got to watch harry and merkle on tonight at 9:30 on the irish national tv , and no iam not a west brit , ok maybe just abit , but sure who is not
This way of teaching irish is so helpful for me, my teacher often does the same style as you (reading a comprehension, then going back over it and explaining the text and all the words you mightnt have come across). It really helps to build up on vocabulary and builds up on the basics, which is where i often go wrong. Hopefully this video will be useful to me not just in my junior cert but when i want to fulfill my ambition of becoming a gaelgoirí.
Dia dhuit Dane! Really a great video! I must say that it's one of the best Irish videos I've ever watched! This approach of breaking the text and explaining it is really great! Tá an cur chuige seo maidir leis an téacs a bhriseadh agus a mhíniú iontach! Go raibh míle maith agat agus slán tamall !
Go raibh míle míle maith agat! I really want to learn Irish because I think it's a beautiful language, and no matter how many other resources I use, your channel is always the most helpful to me. I'm both a visual and audio learner. When I watch Irish-language shows, I have a hard time separating/visualizing the words I hear. When I read from books, I don't always understand how something is pronounced. Your videos are the best of both worlds!
I really appreciate how you broke the structure down in an easily understandable way. This is very helpful, and a great supplement to my regular class. GRMA. I will keep looking for your videos.
This video was excellent in helping me learn Irish. I find reading in another language so very helpful yet to a beginner reading Irish is quite difficult if not impossible. Your reading of it helps with the pronunciation and your explanation helps with the comprehension. Keep more of these coming.
Love your videos, thank you so much! So interesting and informative. I wonder if you have one that is just like a list of phonetics, or something like that? Like, "th" = "t" or "d". Or "mh" = "v". Hope this makes sense. Still very new to trying to learn the Irish language. Thank you!
Thanks for the videos. I'm making my way through all of your videos. This is one of your best videos that I have watched; I really like this format and I hope you do more videos in this format. I've always wanted to learn Irish. I have Irish in me from my mother's mother.
This is a great format to bridge from the usual, "The vegetables are in the fridge." Just one suggestion that may be fun, give us the Irish text a week before you intend to review the text. It will get us into Focloir Gaeilge as well as test our ability to wend our way through the syntax. Go raibh maith agat.
"The vegetables are in the fridge." Haha...duolingo reference no doubt! I am determined to learn Gaeilge for usage on my annual holidays in Connemara but I have been saying to mo bhean chéile that unless the topic of conversation is about the restaurant being opposite the school, I...am...fecked! "tá an bhialann os comhair an scoil"
This is tremendously helpful, Dean. This is exactly the kind of instruction I've been looking for. Ever consider teaching an intensive online course in this way?
Maith thu a Dhean ! This was an excellent video . I loved the way you included the lists of prepositions in a natural way in the texts. GRMMA and please do look after yourself even if we really getting near the end.
Dia dhuit Dane! Great video! I really appreciate this video! I understood almost everything!! Físeán iontach! Is mór agam agam an físeán seo! Thug mé beagnach gach rud!!Maith thú! Go raibh maith agat agus slán go fóill!
Yes great video Dane, it's strange how so many words can mean different things Like bearla I suppose, I just need to keep practicing to get it in my nut. Really enjoyed it, Great job Dane, maith thu. Slan go foill.

I'll be watching that too, it does not matter how wealthy or privileged one is beca all families are dysfunctional.
remember for all those intimidated, you are being taught literacy as much as speaking it with any online guide. Great video as always :)
You are dead right.
This is a great video because it explains so many grammatical and stylistic aspects at once.
Thank you for your support, I try my best.

This is a useful bridge between lists of vocabulary and ideal sentences towards real conversation. Go raibh maith agat!
