I'm probably just going to ignore the banner for now, it will mostly just feature older characters at this point and I already have majority of the ones I wanted to pull. The exception being those 5* weapons. I may save up and try to get one of those. ♡
@@yourlocalyanfeigod, and not only that. Weapons have been becoming so niche it’s just not worth doing the weapon banner. Dehya’s weapons is the most universal 5* Claymore (other than for Noelle and Itto) the other being Wolfsgravestone and has really good stats with high CR and ATK and a passive anyone can benefit from especially after Furina’s release.
It would be so funny for me if I go for Diluc and lose my 50/50 to Klee. Oh how the turns have tabled XD I'm sure that this banner type will get more value the longer Genshin runs. People are not so keen about this now, but may gain value over time when more characters from other regions switch up.
The "it will get better with time" argument is very finicky. Why? Well, because it's basically a dumping ground for "bad", outdated 5 star characters (and their signatures). It will always be situational, because of course a Eula wanter might jump of joy now, but her being on this banner basically tells me, that the chances of a normal rerun for her and other characters is getting close to zero. The community loved and meta defining characters will get reruns, while any bad performing character will only be featured on this banner. So it is a positive for people REALLY wanting certain "bad" characters and their weapons, but the fact that this banner doesn't use the normal guaranteed character mechanic, but one that resets per patch is definitely a negative. For example, I'd like to get Ganyu, but it's not a must have for me. So considering that she didn't get a rerun this patch despite the lantern rite and outfit, I fear she will be relegated to that banner in the future, as she is relatively outdated. So if I am right, I will have to spend upwards of 180 wishes to get her, loosing the ability to just say "I can wish until I get a 5 star and hope to win the 50:50, and if I lose it, it's at least a guaranteed 5 star for my next pulls", because otherwise just stopping after loosing on that banner means I give up my guarantee.
either way no point in building pity on that just like with regular weapon banner. the fact that guarantee doesn't carry is much more important (which is the biggest problem with weapon banner rn too). basically no point in wishing on it unless you have 180 wishes or you really don't care what you get. on the other hand if you aren't sure whether you want a 5* on regular limited banner you can go to first pity and if you lose decide to save the guarantee. can't do it here.

As a relatively new player who's been frustrated with none of the characters I actually want being available since I started, this is soooo nice. I'm glad it means that older/less popular 5-stars will actually be obtainable again for the people who missed them. ☺
Yeah but interwined fates aren't given out for free, unless if the events get good this banner is not gonna do so well. Imo it should've been the new standard banner using standard wishes not interwined.

So its not like we're going to lose a lot...like, 5 wishes a month? I'm mostly glad I can finally get the characters that evaded me since 2.8 when I started playing: Jean, Tighnari and even Qiqi, although I only wanted Jean and now that I got Clout Retainer she's far from priority. But weapons are interesting. For new players I think it's positive if they plan their pulls with 180 wishes, otherwise they'll divide and waste resources.

Tbh, I feel like it both sucks but it makes sense at the same time. If we were to use blue wishes, I feel like it would lose the purpose of having 2 types of wishes.
It would be bad if it was like the weapon banner with harder pity (needs 240 fates), but it's literally the same as a limited banner. If you select Albedo, it's essentially the same as pulling on Albedo's limited banner, except that you can lose the 50/50 to, like, Eula instead of Tighnari or something. I hated the idea of this when it was leaked but the only real problem here is that you absolutely need to save since pity doesn't carry over.
Good luck with AR 25. :D I've played that way since the launch of Inazuma and couldn't care less about missing the main story or some events. It and AR 35 are the only way to keep abyss and combat events challenging and rewarding (5* artifacts) whenever you want to try them.

I came to this thread to be like "Man, I miss my beautiful AR 35 so freaking much, it was so easy, I envy you. 😭" and then saw the comments. 😂 To clarify in case anyone wonders, no, the game is not exactly difficult for me (I'm stubbornly staying at AR 50, I only ascended to get all the achievements) but I miss being able to kill absolutely everything with a few attacks without having to go through farming hell to do so. 😂

This is huge for the reason that standard banner characters can finally be put into the "rate-up" rotation. God, i need keqing constellations... Day 1 player here and she's still c0 and I only got her because of that time she got a rate-up during year 1 (and they never did a standard banner character rate up again).
Been playing since day 1, not a single Qiqi, Tighnari or Dehya. Only got Diluc with Furina too, so 3 years and two of the original standards were missing. Wish they'd still add the selector like hsr.
Her constellations are garbage in every team. Better to invest into c2 furina or c2 kazuha if you haven’t already or a five star weapon for both keqing and fischl
that essentially means no triple banners. the units that sell will be on limited old goodies will instead be perma available. The big question is WHAT about the 4 stars!!?

Honestly as a player that doesn't roll on weapon banner, and a player who doesn't have Tighnari and knowing that eventually there will be a banner like this with Tighnari on it, and as a player who doesn't skip pulling on the standard banner ever, I see all of this as an absolute win. All I need to know is how long it'll stay up per banner.
i think a pro you missed is that it sounds like that whatever you pick as your up rate, it has a 50% chance of being the 5 star, which for weapons is great because the specific weapon you wanted on weapon banner was like 37.5% chance to be the 5 star i hoard gacha currency (currently 100+ pulls in genshin, forgot the specific number) so in the long run this will be great for me, but i definitely wont pull on it in 4.5 as im saving for nilou and her weapon, but definitely will one day for dehya's weapon at least

Eula needs high investment and cons, Albedo is just a worse Chiori (coming from an Albedo main) and Klee is... Klee. And most people already have the standard banner characters. The leaked Liyue one next patch with Ganyu, Shenhe and Hu Tao is gonna be way better

Limited characters don't have inherent value just from their rarity. Characters a player doesn't want to play have no value at all, so this banner is risky.
I love this concept and I'm excited. Being able to lose the 50/50 and still getting a limited character? Nice. It will be interesting to see what kinda rotations they will be doing. Now it's obviously by region. Maybe in the future by element? Or what type of weapon they use? This could be really fun!
It's interesting as Monstadt characters are pretty good now and they're half the banner. After I secure Arlecchino and her weapon I guess I'll be taking shots at this new banner, unless Emilie steals my heart. Chlorinde is wanted but...too much electro DPSs already.
I'm just glad I can finally get Dehya's signature (didn't manage to pull it back then)... And now I have a chance to get Mona. I still don't have her after three years of playing and at this point I am desperate
This will be interesting to see what characters and weapons will be added to this banner type. Including 4 star items, I'm not sure if it has default ones or special rate-ups.
As someone who's got to 2 fates FOUR TIMES in a row in weapon banners, this might be good news when I'm pulling for weapons/older characters' weapons. Gonna ignore the banner now though, I'm still aiming for the Fontaine reruns
I'm not surprised that they're using pink fates for this. Since they're offering limited characters, they would probably get in legal trouble if they suddenly made those characters available to be pulled with the free wishes (when previously people had to whale for them).
Honestly this is good. Currently the banner is meh but it sets precedent for future regions and removes some characters from the rotation. Sure the fate points reset after banners but you'd be saving 180 to guarantee the character anyway in the regular banner so it's not much of an issue, it really only affects those who """build pity""". Otherwise you'd be starting from 0 pity anyway since the last time you pulled you got the character. The only bad thing is that primos will be more scarce bc now there's an extra banner and i doubt they'll give more
reminder for the fact that you lose 50:50 on the chara that only got rate up in this chronicle banner, imagine for the upcoming rate up is gonna be xiao, ganyu, childe, shenhe or yelan and keqing or qiqi. For me, example if i choose xiao as my target then suddenly lose 50:50 on yelan, doesn’t that makes a great deal? they do said that the chara who already had 3 rerun will confirm get rate up inside the chronicle banner. Gonna think more further for the upcoming chara to get rate up so it can be worth it to pull on that banner, Think of it as event weapon banner that have good run like back in the day when homa and aqua got rate up but the 50:50 lose only the chara that got rate up in this banner.
For characters it's mostly nice, yes, even Monstadt Banner where 3 of the 6 characters are 50/50 standard loss, they're all good characters now that Furina and Clout Retainer ressurected them. BUT if the weapon banner contains only Skyward Series, wishing on it without 180 wishes to guarantee your weapon is kinda stupid. 3-4 out of 11 weapons is like 1/3 of getting something good. If you don't have Eula then its 2 in 11 weapons, insane.
Even tho the fate points are kinda cringe, this is still a big W It solves a problem of standard banner 5* being impossible to grantee + a problem of some non-meta characters having their rerun once every never, without having to put them on the banner that's not gonna generate much profit.
It solves a problem for whales or dolphins, not for the f2p. F2P needs to still stay away form this, the value is still low. You have to use premium wishes and you get standard stuff, besides pines and hunter's path, which are only good on mid characters. Still, low value.

3:27 Even though they didn't specify this criterion for weapons, they showed Dehya's and Tighnari's weapons in the example weapon lineup. If those weapons do in fact get added to Chronicled Wish, then the "at least 3 times" criterion only applies to characters and not weapons.
It's like they tried to make this new feature as infuriating as possible. And not even necessarily in a way to incentivise paying either. It's just... so annoying.
I don't think there will ever be one for Inazuma & Fontaine, especially Inazuma. This is essentially a banner to dump characters that no longer sell well. Other than Yoimiya & Itto, all other characters from Inazuma are extremely popular. Maybe Kokomi & Ayato too? But even then, that still sounds like not enough characters to fill the banner. If we assume Arlecchino & Clorinde will be well liked, then there's only Wriothesley, Lynney, and Neuvillette that may fit the bill for the banner. Chiori could also fit in the either two, but it's a bit murky whether Hoyo would put her into Fontaine or Inazuma. Until more characters are added, I don't think we'll see Chronicled Wish for Inazuma & Fontaine any time soon.
it's bad for Andys wuth gambling addiction, but for players that can save a little it's a huge w. And you can get weapon only in 180 and not 240 fates (I remember that i've spent 200+ on yoimiya's bow in 0ne banner and it makes me crazy)
Here's the thing, i believe this banner have a lot of potential, imagine a inazuma chronicled banner, there's no standard character from inazuma, and a lot of the 5☆ are actually pretty good, buuutt. Always be cautious with it, it's like a big limited banner that doesn't let guaranteed go to the next one, so always wish when you're ready for the worst case scenario possible
I’m f2p and will 1000% be pulling on this banner. I main Albedo and was saving for cons of his anyway, and now I can do that whilst also potentially losing my 50/50 to Klee (who is the leader of my commissions team and essentially my second main). It doesn’t depend on money, it depends on how much people like the characters on it.
@@shipsarebeautiful i mean average FTPs don't pull for cons. so yes obviously it's not like it's bad for every FTP but on average i'd say it's pretty bad for FTPs unless they're a new player. old players already decided whether they want those 1.x character so they will either get a character they don't prefer or a weapon which might be even more useless. the possibility of getting an absolute trash of a 5* weapon is the main downside. like, yeah qiqi cons suck but i'd still prefer pulling on normal banner 'cause idc about standard weapons. i only pull for some good limited weapons rarely (not a FTP btw. 'cause if i was FTP I wouldn't pull for weapons at all)
@@akwaMartyna the possibility of a “trash” weapon is there regardless on the normal standard and weapon banners, but the chance of getting what you want here is actually higher. Plus, if you’re charting for a character, the 5 star can only be a character and vice versa. Even for people who don’t pull for cons, it’s still useful to older players provided you didn’t whale out on everyone already because the chances of an older unit being there that you want but may not yet have are very high. Eula, Klee and Albedo are not very “meta” characters, nor are they particularly popular, and only 1 of the 3 even has a signature weapon. But when other characters get added, what then? Is the average person gonna complain they accidentally got a Staff of Homa when going for a Wolf’s Gravestone? Or about accidentally getting Yelan when wanting the Qiqi that somehow never showed up before? The banner is an amazing idea, the only real reason people have to complain IMO is guarantee’s not carrying over but that doesn’t happen on the weapon banner either. Plus, in my personal experience, I don’t pull for anything when I don’t have enough to guarantee it to begin with, and if people were just on average more responsible with saving then losing a 50/50 wouldn’t even matter.
Opposite actually. Whales will have basically everything in excess from this banner. It's the dolphins who never get that one standard character and the FTP who have had to skip countless good weapon banners that benefit from this the most, as well as long term players in general. (Reminder that all of the FTP bows and claymores legitimately suck outside of fav and stringless.)
This is an amazing update for me, I have been playing for a while and never got Keqing, so having her be gauranteed at 180 pulls is amazing! Im honestly surprised they were so generous with this one, is this Star Rail or something? 😅
I thought the "3 banner requirement" would limit the pool quite a lot, but actually the only characters that *cannot* go on this new banner are: - Every 5* since 4.0 - Baizhu - Al haitham - Wanderer - Nilou - Shen he
IIRC they also said something vague about the character needing to have been in the game for a certain amount of time. Based on what's been shown so far I'm assuming that they're only going to include characters that have had 3 banners and who have been in the game for at least 2-3 years. The most recent character shown is Eula who was added in the Version 1.5, which was late April of 2021.
It's good if you plan your wishes and know which characters you really want to get. It's all about priorities, are you willing to save 160 wishes for your favorites so you can guarantee them when they have a banner/rerun?
it is not about "Building a pity". it is about pull for a character that we would like to get, but have not enough pull to guaranty. as exemple, i will pull for Neuvillette, and if i lose the 50-50, i will have Arlecchino guaranty at the patch after. if i win, i will be in 50-50 for Arlecchino. with this banner, such thing would not be possible. if i pull for klee and lose the 50-50, at the next banner like this if there is Ganyu, i would also be in 50-50, and it would be possible to loose both.
Yes it is stupid to pull on a limited banner where they don't even want the featured 5* then getting lucky enough to win them early which results to losing the said built pity. It is fine to pull if you don't mind getting the 5* while trying to snipe let's say a 4* char featured in the banner that you want. It is more stupid if they pull on a limited banner when they already have a guarantee and then getting the feat 5* while "building pity" and they don't even want the 5* 😅 Point is it can be stupid depending on the person and their circumstance.

"Building pity" as in deliberately spending wishes on a banner you DON'T want the 5-star from is completely stupid, yes. But that's not the only scenario where this is a problem. If I have 90 wishes saved and I want the current 5-star on the Event banner, I will probably wish on that banner. If I win the 50/50, great. If I lose the 50/50, then that sucks, BUT now I know that I have a guarantee banked for the next banner I care about. As someone who only wishes on a very select few banners, this is a huge thing that I utilize all the time. Like e.g. sure it sucks that I missed the 50/50 to get Furina, but now I have a guarantee that I can use on Neuvillette's banner down the line (or even Furina's next re-run if I'm willing to wait that long). With the Fate Point system, it's all or nothing. If you don't win the 50/50 and you don't get the guaranteed win right now before the banner ends, then all your wishes were basically completely wasted. This is why Moosashi says in this video that with this system you really shouldn't ever wish unless you already have 180 wishes banked.
At the end of the day gacha mechanics are gacha. They are predatory by design no matter how big or small. However I don't honestly mind this as much. I'll be ONLY using this banner when I am lacking a specific character or weapon and I have around 160+ wishes. If anyone else is planning to pull, I would advise you to plan out how you wanna spend your primos.
ive read the info about this new wish banner and it looks like that this wish banner resets like the character event wish. and ive counted the characters from every region and most of the regions have the requirements to be on this new banners (havent been rerun in a while and has been reruned for 3 times) . so maybe if this banner resets it will be characters from different regions. if so this banner will be absolutely nutty
@Moosashi You forgot one other thing about the Chronicled Wish. While Fate Point won't carry over, PITY will. So yeah, while you'll have to start over with your Fate Point, meaning you'll have to pull one 5-Star before Guarantee kicks in with every reset, your Banner PITY will carry over. So if you pulled to 5-Star, then, say to 70 wishes toward the guarantee and ran out of wishes, when the Banner resets, you'll still be at 70 pity. Which means even with that Fate Point reset, you'll start with only needing a maximum of 20 wishes to hit pity for that first 5-star. So yeah, for Characters, it's, objectively, the worst banner when it comes to Wishes-Per-Character, but for Weapons, Chronicled Wish is, objectively, the Far Superior Banner, No Contest. For Characters, though, while the Wishes-Per-Character is the highest, you have to weigh that against the Characters available on the Banner. Keep in mind that any Limited Characters on this Banner are ones that haven't been run in a while which also means Hoyo has no plans/intention of running those characters on the Main Limited Banners any time soon. So, yes, you may have to fork over more Wishes and plan your Wishes better for a Chronicled Character, but in exchange, you don't have to wait another six months to a year before you see them again. Now the one thing Hoyo HASN'T told us is how 4-Stars work with Chronicled Wish. My assumption is that we get everything available. If that's the case, my question to Hoyo would be thus: Does the Character/Weapon Lock for the 5-Stars that activates when you pick a path also apply to 4-Stars? In other words, if I pick Tighnari's Bow as my path, will all my 4-Stars be guaranteed weapons? I really hope this is the case because this will lessen how bad the Character pulls are since, with Guaranteed 4-Star Characters with every 10-Pull, this becomes the most reliable way to farm 4-Star Constellations outside of the Main Limited Character Banner and the very few characters that show up in the Shop. Even better would be if we get to pick Character or Weapon Path for 4-Stars independent of the 5-Star Path, but we all know that will never happen because that makes too much sense. So I would take the 5-Star Path applying to 4-Stars as well.
If it didn't require Intertwined Fates I may have cared about this, I could save up my Acquaints and start saving for those Diluc cons I always wanted. Oh well.
Well, i might try and pull on that banner but i'll just do around 60 draws and pull again next time i have enough priogems. This way i wont have the risk of losing my fate points if the next banner comes. Which would be great. However there is still the risk of me getting an early five star so i'll just save my priogems
Question, I may be the only person having this issue since i have a weird playstyle, but does this mean that if I wanted a specific character, when I lose the 50/50, it will give me another 5 star on that banner? or will it give me a standard 5 star? Because personally, there are certain charactes i do not want on my account. I think it would also make it more fair for people who put so much time/money into getting an event character just for others to get them by losing a 50/50.
If this banner using the acquaint fates (blue) instead intertwined fate (blue red) 100% worth. For now I'm not gonna spend at all spending at this banner 😤
i just wanted to know if the 4-stars on the banner are also based on location or it will be all the 4-stars in the game. i didnt play genshin during sumeru and most of fontaine (came back to the game recently). and one of the things im most sad about is not having all the 4-stars anymore. and its hard to try to get them in banners bc i dont throw wishes all the time, i save them for 5-stars
I'm personally only gonna go for dehyas weapon on this one, other than that its not too useful for me, especially since I'm a dolphin who has all characters currently released, but I still think the system can be quite nice in the future depending on the characters on it, for example a liyue lineup with ganyu, shenhe, hu tao (and keqing and qiqi) and someone really likes ganyu and goes for her and maybe some constellations and on the way even if they loose the 50/50 they have a pretty good chance to get a shenhe and hu tao as well. Another benefit from this will be that the regular limited banner character pool will rerun the newer characters faster since theres less characters that need to be rerun on it now
This is a good banner for ppl like me who has low budget so I don't have most of those standard 5* weapons and want to C6 my old 5* char like Ganyu but waiting for her banner is horrid...
I mean, not using intertwined fates is good only for those who didnt wish for ages on the standart, like those who have 200/300/400+ fates, for others thats literally the same, i dont really understand why people are going crazy by this
You can passively accumulate them, from BP and Paimon shop, character ascension, Sakura/Vanarana Tree/Fountain whatever. That would make this banner a better dumping ground for blue fates while not encroaching on primogems (so kinda "free"). With Intertwined fates it takes the same resources as the regular wish banner, so there is no point if you can just spend those fates on the regular wish banner.
I would not recommend expending wishes on that thing. This would be good on release or version 2. Now, what it is giving, too old. Jean is good because now she is meta, maybe if you want a specific weapon for Eula or Ganyu, but even when I have them and love them, I would not wish on this banner.

I just view this banner as another option that is good in general. Ive saved up to 180 for basically every time I decide I want someone. I've lost 50% of my 50/50s lol. @@frey5218 I base it on the situation. For something like this I'd say a couple extra months for sure. Yes these are based off of a region at the moment and we did have a eula banner recently but I just think they'll leave it longer for characters that don't earn as much.
When Keqing gets added to this banner I'll C6 her instantly. But don't feel you have to do the same. I main her, she just loves to dodge me since 1.0 and I can spare some wishes and wallet-kun for her.
For weapons it's somewhat decent. But for characters? Assuming they'll always put at least 3 standard banner 5 stars on there I won't ever use this banner (except for a banner with Tighnari, Jean, Dehya and at least 1 top tier limited 5 star but that's copium since they rerun the top tier characters on a regular basis).

The intertwined fates thing doesn't matter much to me, i'm just mad i sunk so many primos into standard when I could've guaranteed a Skyward Harp instead. Guess it's back on the grind so my venti finally gets this stupid weapon

I really don't understand the negativity this banner is getting, it being a "scam" and "not worth it", imo it's the best banner we'll have. Given that any character that was featured at least 3 time can appear there, it's absolutely op (if they don't change it too much). There are currently 20 limited 5* characters (including all archons except furina) that could be put there given time. Like if they put there 6 limited characters it's a no brainer to not pull, it costs the same for a character as the normal character banners, so if you don't like the current character banners you can literally pull on this and if you lose 50/50 can get 2 limited characters, which is infinitely better than any standard character. Also the thing it not being F2P friendly is crap, it costs you the exact same to go to hard pitty and it using intertwined fates so what, they all still costs primogems in the end and since it's using these if you exchanged them you can just go pull on another banner instead. And yes the 50/50 reset after patch is sad but it makes it fair, so just save up and don't pull when you know you wont have enough primogems. Also it's better to get weapons, but it doesn't look like they'll include signature ones, thank god cuz i'd be broke xd
Exactly this. The pity resetting sucks yeah but i didn't think it was such a big issue to people till i saw their reactions. You'd have to save 180 wishes for a character you want anyway it's the same thing, it really only affects you if "build pity" which you shouldn't be doing anyway. Literally just save before pulling like you should be doing anyway
Actually it will be including signature weapons, Song Of Broken Pines is in fact included. Albedo and Klee just don’t have signature weapons (unless the limited ones from 2.3 and 1.6 respectively count, which I personally don’t think they do even as someone who mains both), so it looks slightly worse than it is.

Although this is old I just want to point out that Chronicled Wish pity DOES carry over between banners. It is identical to the weapon banner. Its pity is its own, and its fate points do not carry over, but your pity toward a five star still remains.
I'm probably just going to ignore the banner for now, it will mostly just feature older characters at this point and I already have majority of the ones I wanted to pull. The exception being those 5* weapons. I may save up and try to get one of those. ♡

Dehya’s weapons is the most universal 5* Claymore (other than for Noelle and Itto) the other being Wolfsgravestone and has really good stats with high CR and ATK and a passive anyone can benefit from especially after Furina’s release.

The "it will get better with time" argument is very finicky.
Why? Well, because it's basically a dumping ground for "bad", outdated 5 star characters (and their signatures).
It will always be situational, because of course a Eula wanter might jump of joy now, but her being on this banner basically tells me, that the chances of a normal rerun for her and other characters is getting close to zero.
The community loved and meta defining characters will get reruns, while any bad performing character will only be featured on this banner.
So it is a positive for people REALLY wanting certain "bad" characters and their weapons, but the fact that this banner doesn't use the normal guaranteed character mechanic, but one that resets per patch is definitely a negative.
For example, I'd like to get Ganyu, but it's not a must have for me.
So considering that she didn't get a rerun this patch despite the lantern rite and outfit, I fear she will be relegated to that banner in the future, as she is relatively outdated.
So if I am right, I will have to spend upwards of 180 wishes to get her, loosing the ability to just say "I can wish until I get a 5 star and hope to win the 50:50, and if I lose it, it's at least a guaranteed 5 star for my next pulls", because otherwise just stopping after loosing on that banner means I give up my guarantee.

As a relatively new player who's been frustrated with none of the characters I actually want being available since I started, this is soooo nice. I'm glad it means that older/less popular 5-stars will actually be obtainable again for the people who missed them. ☺

I'm mostly glad I can finally get the characters that evaded me since 2.8 when I started playing: Jean, Tighnari and even Qiqi, although I only wanted Jean and now that I got Clout Retainer she's far from priority. But weapons are interesting. For new players I think it's positive if they plan their pulls with 180 wishes, otherwise they'll divide and waste resources.

Tbh, I feel like it both sucks but it makes sense at the same time. If we were to use blue wishes, I feel like it would lose the purpose of having 2 types of wishes.
It would be bad if it was like the weapon banner with harder pity (needs 240 fates), but it's literally the same as a limited banner. If you select Albedo, it's essentially the same as pulling on Albedo's limited banner, except that you can lose the 50/50 to, like, Eula instead of Tighnari or something. I hated the idea of this when it was leaked but the only real problem here is that you absolutely need to save since pity doesn't carry over.

Good luck with AR 25. :D I've played that way since the launch of Inazuma and couldn't care less about missing the main story or some events. It and AR 35 are the only way to keep abyss and combat events challenging and rewarding (5* artifacts) whenever you want to try them.
I'm also an ar25 player! It's honestly a lot of fun, but can be pretty frustrating when you put effort into abyss and you get a trash 5 star...

This is huge for the reason that standard banner characters can finally be put into the "rate-up" rotation. God, i need keqing constellations... Day 1 player here and she's still c0 and I only got her because of that time she got a rate-up during year 1 (and they never did a standard banner character rate up again).

Been playing since day 1, not a single Qiqi, Tighnari or Dehya. Only got Diluc with Furina too, so 3 years and two of the original standards were missing. Wish they'd still add the selector like hsr.
Her constellations are garbage in every team. Better to invest into c2 furina or c2 kazuha if you haven’t already or a five star weapon for both keqing and fischl

Honestly as a player that doesn't roll on weapon banner, and a player who doesn't have Tighnari and knowing that eventually there will be a banner like this with Tighnari on it, and as a player who doesn't skip pulling on the standard banner ever, I see all of this as an absolute win. All I need to know is how long it'll stay up per banner.

i think a pro you missed is that it sounds like that whatever you pick as your up rate, it has a 50% chance of being the 5 star, which for weapons is great because the specific weapon you wanted on weapon banner was like 37.5% chance to be the 5 star
i hoard gacha currency (currently 100+ pulls in genshin, forgot the specific number) so in the long run this will be great for me, but i definitely wont pull on it in 4.5 as im saving for nilou and her weapon, but definitely will one day for dehya's weapon at least

Limited characters don't have inherent value just from their rarity. Characters a player doesn't want to play have no value at all, so this banner is risky.
I love this concept and I'm excited. Being able to lose the 50/50 and still getting a limited character? Nice. It will be interesting to see what kinda rotations they will be doing. Now it's obviously by region. Maybe in the future by element? Or what type of weapon they use? This could be really fun!
It's interesting as Monstadt characters are pretty good now and they're half the banner. After I secure Arlecchino and her weapon I guess I'll be taking shots at this new banner, unless Emilie steals my heart. Chlorinde is wanted but...too much electro DPSs already.

I'm not surprised that they're using pink fates for this. Since they're offering limited characters, they would probably get in legal trouble if they suddenly made those characters available to be pulled with the free wishes (when previously people had to whale for them).
Honestly this is good. Currently the banner is meh but it sets precedent for future regions and removes some characters from the rotation. Sure the fate points reset after banners but you'd be saving 180 to guarantee the character anyway in the regular banner so it's not much of an issue, it really only affects those who """build pity""". Otherwise you'd be starting from 0 pity anyway since the last time you pulled you got the character.
The only bad thing is that primos will be more scarce bc now there's an extra banner and i doubt they'll give more
reminder for the fact that you lose 50:50 on the chara that only got rate up in this chronicle banner, imagine for the upcoming rate up is gonna be xiao, ganyu, childe, shenhe or yelan and keqing or qiqi. For me, example if i choose xiao as my target then suddenly lose 50:50 on yelan, doesn’t that makes a great deal? they do said that the chara who already had 3 rerun will confirm get rate up inside the chronicle banner. Gonna think more further for the upcoming chara to get rate up so it can be worth it to pull on that banner, Think of it as event weapon banner that have good run like back in the day when homa and aqua got rate up but the 50:50 lose only the chara that got rate up in this banner.
For characters it's mostly nice, yes, even Monstadt Banner where 3 of the 6 characters are 50/50 standard loss, they're all good characters now that Furina and Clout Retainer ressurected them. BUT if the weapon banner contains only Skyward Series, wishing on it without 180 wishes to guarantee your weapon is kinda stupid. 3-4 out of 11 weapons is like 1/3 of getting something good. If you don't have Eula then its 2 in 11 weapons, insane.

It solves a problem of standard banner 5* being impossible to grantee + a problem of some non-meta characters having their rerun once every never, without having to put them on the banner that's not gonna generate much profit.
It solves a problem for whales or dolphins, not for the f2p. F2P needs to still stay away form this, the value is still low. You have to use premium wishes and you get standard stuff, besides pines and hunter's path, which are only good on mid characters. Still, low value.

3:27 Even though they didn't specify this criterion for weapons, they showed Dehya's and Tighnari's weapons in the example weapon lineup. If those weapons do in fact get added to Chronicled Wish, then the "at least 3 times" criterion only applies to characters and not weapons.

This is essentially a banner to dump characters that no longer sell well.
Other than Yoimiya & Itto, all other characters from Inazuma are extremely popular.
Maybe Kokomi & Ayato too? But even then, that still sounds like not enough characters to fill the banner.
If we assume Arlecchino & Clorinde will be well liked, then there's only Wriothesley, Lynney, and Neuvillette that may fit the bill for the banner.
Chiori could also fit in the either two, but it's a bit murky whether Hoyo would put her into Fontaine or Inazuma.
Until more characters are added, I don't think we'll see Chronicled Wish for Inazuma & Fontaine any time soon.
it's bad for Andys wuth gambling addiction, but for players that can save a little it's a huge w. And you can get weapon only in 180 and not 240 fates (I remember that i've spent 200+ on yoimiya's bow in 0ne banner and it makes me crazy)
Here's the thing, i believe this banner have a lot of potential, imagine a inazuma chronicled banner, there's no standard character from inazuma, and a lot of the 5☆ are actually pretty good, buuutt. Always be cautious with it, it's like a big limited banner that doesn't let guaranteed go to the next one, so always wish when you're ready for the worst case scenario possible

I’m f2p and will 1000% be pulling on this banner. I main Albedo and was saving for cons of his anyway, and now I can do that whilst also potentially losing my 50/50 to Klee (who is the leader of my commissions team and essentially my second main). It doesn’t depend on money, it depends on how much people like the characters on it.

@@akwaMartyna the possibility of a “trash” weapon is there regardless on the normal standard and weapon banners, but the chance of getting what you want here is actually higher. Plus, if you’re charting for a character, the 5 star can only be a character and vice versa. Even for people who don’t pull for cons, it’s still useful to older players provided you didn’t whale out on everyone already because the chances of an older unit being there that you want but may not yet have are very high. Eula, Klee and Albedo are not very “meta” characters, nor are they particularly popular, and only 1 of the 3 even has a signature weapon. But when other characters get added, what then? Is the average person gonna complain they accidentally got a Staff of Homa when going for a Wolf’s Gravestone? Or about accidentally getting Yelan when wanting the Qiqi that somehow never showed up before? The banner is an amazing idea, the only real reason people have to complain IMO is guarantee’s not carrying over but that doesn’t happen on the weapon banner either. Plus, in my personal experience, I don’t pull for anything when I don’t have enough to guarantee it to begin with, and if people were just on average more responsible with saving then losing a 50/50 wouldn’t even matter.
Opposite actually. Whales will have basically everything in excess from this banner. It's the dolphins who never get that one standard character and the FTP who have had to skip countless good weapon banners that benefit from this the most, as well as long term players in general. (Reminder that all of the FTP bows and claymores legitimately suck outside of fav and stringless.)

As a fellow hoarder of acquaint fates, i am also dismayed
I thought the "3 banner requirement" would limit the pool quite a lot, but actually the only characters that *cannot* go on this new banner are:
- Every 5* since 4.0
- Baizhu
- Al haitham
- Wanderer
- Nilou
- Shen he
IIRC they also said something vague about the character needing to have been in the game for a certain amount of time. Based on what's been shown so far I'm assuming that they're only going to include characters that have had 3 banners and who have been in the game for at least 2-3 years. The most recent character shown is Eula who was added in the Version 1.5, which was late April of 2021.

Yes it is stupid to pull on a limited banner where they don't even want the featured 5* then getting lucky enough to win them early which results to losing the said built pity. It is fine to pull if you don't mind getting the 5* while trying to snipe let's say a 4* char featured in the banner that you want. It is more stupid if they pull on a limited banner when they already have a guarantee and then getting the feat 5* while "building pity" and they don't even want the 5* 😅 Point is it can be stupid depending on the person and their circumstance.

"Building pity" as in deliberately spending wishes on a banner you DON'T want the 5-star from is completely stupid, yes. But that's not the only scenario where this is a problem.
If I have 90 wishes saved and I want the current 5-star on the Event banner, I will probably wish on that banner. If I win the 50/50, great. If I lose the 50/50, then that sucks, BUT now I know that I have a guarantee banked for the next banner I care about. As someone who only wishes on a very select few banners, this is a huge thing that I utilize all the time. Like e.g. sure it sucks that I missed the 50/50 to get Furina, but now I have a guarantee that I can use on Neuvillette's banner down the line (or even Furina's next re-run if I'm willing to wait that long).
With the Fate Point system, it's all or nothing. If you don't win the 50/50 and you don't get the guaranteed win right now before the banner ends, then all your wishes were basically completely wasted. This is why Moosashi says in this video that with this system you really shouldn't ever wish unless you already have 180 wishes banked.

At the end of the day gacha mechanics are gacha. They are predatory by design no matter how big or small.
However I don't honestly mind this as much. I'll be ONLY using this banner when I am lacking a specific character or weapon and I have around 160+ wishes. If anyone else is planning to pull, I would advise you to plan out how you wanna spend your primos.
ive read the info about this new wish banner and it looks like that this wish banner resets like the character event wish. and ive counted the characters from every region and most of the regions have the requirements to be on this new banners (havent been rerun in a while and has been reruned for 3 times) . so maybe if this banner resets it will be characters from different regions. if so this banner will be absolutely nutty

You forgot one other thing about the Chronicled Wish. While Fate Point won't carry over, PITY will. So yeah, while you'll have to start over with your Fate Point, meaning you'll have to pull one 5-Star before Guarantee kicks in with every reset, your Banner PITY will carry over. So if you pulled to 5-Star, then, say to 70 wishes toward the guarantee and ran out of wishes, when the Banner resets, you'll still be at 70 pity. Which means even with that Fate Point reset, you'll start with only needing a maximum of 20 wishes to hit pity for that first 5-star. So yeah, for Characters, it's, objectively, the worst banner when it comes to Wishes-Per-Character, but for Weapons, Chronicled Wish is, objectively, the Far Superior Banner, No Contest. For Characters, though, while the Wishes-Per-Character is the highest, you have to weigh that against the Characters available on the Banner. Keep in mind that any Limited Characters on this Banner are ones that haven't been run in a while which also means Hoyo has no plans/intention of running those characters on the Main Limited Banners any time soon. So, yes, you may have to fork over more Wishes and plan your Wishes better for a Chronicled Character, but in exchange, you don't have to wait another six months to a year before you see them again.
Now the one thing Hoyo HASN'T told us is how 4-Stars work with Chronicled Wish. My assumption is that we get everything available. If that's the case, my question to Hoyo would be thus: Does the Character/Weapon Lock for the 5-Stars that activates when you pick a path also apply to 4-Stars? In other words, if I pick Tighnari's Bow as my path, will all my 4-Stars be guaranteed weapons? I really hope this is the case because this will lessen how bad the Character pulls are since, with Guaranteed 4-Star Characters with every 10-Pull, this becomes the most reliable way to farm 4-Star Constellations outside of the Main Limited Character Banner and the very few characters that show up in the Shop. Even better would be if we get to pick Character or Weapon Path for 4-Stars independent of the 5-Star Path, but we all know that will never happen because that makes too much sense. So I would take the 5-Star Path applying to 4-Stars as well.

Well, i might try and pull on that banner but i'll just do around 60 draws and pull again next time i have enough priogems. This way i wont have the risk of losing my fate points if the next banner comes. Which would be great. However there is still the risk of me getting an early five star so i'll just save my priogems

Question, I may be the only person having this issue since i have a weird playstyle, but does this mean that if I wanted a specific character, when I lose the 50/50, it will give me another 5 star on that banner? or will it give me a standard 5 star? Because personally, there are certain charactes i do not want on my account. I think it would also make it more fair for people who put so much time/money into getting an event character just for others to get them by losing a 50/50.
I might pull for Beacon of the Reed Sea if I ever want to upgrade my Navia.

i just wanted to know if the 4-stars on the banner are also based on location or it will be all the 4-stars in the game. i didnt play genshin during sumeru and most of fontaine (came back to the game recently). and one of the things im most sad about is not having all the 4-stars anymore. and its hard to try to get them in banners bc i dont throw wishes all the time, i save them for 5-stars

I'm personally only gonna go for dehyas weapon on this one, other than that its not too useful for me, especially since I'm a dolphin who has all characters currently released, but I still think the system can be quite nice in the future depending on the characters on it, for example a liyue lineup with ganyu, shenhe, hu tao (and keqing and qiqi) and someone really likes ganyu and goes for her and maybe some constellations and on the way even if they loose the 50/50 they have a pretty good chance to get a shenhe and hu tao as well.
Another benefit from this will be that the regular limited banner character pool will rerun the newer characters faster since theres less characters that need to be rerun on it now
the characters must have had 3 banners and hasnt had one recently

This is a good banner for ppl like me who has low budget so I don't have most of those standard 5* weapons and want to C6 my old 5* char like Ganyu but waiting for her banner is horrid...

I mean, not using intertwined fates is good only for those who didnt wish for ages on the standart, like those who have 200/300/400+ fates, for others thats literally the same, i dont really understand why people are going crazy by this
You can passively accumulate them, from BP and Paimon shop, character ascension, Sakura/Vanarana Tree/Fountain whatever. That would make this banner a better dumping ground for blue fates while not encroaching on primogems (so kinda "free"). With Intertwined fates it takes the same resources as the regular wish banner, so there is no point if you can just spend those fates on the regular wish banner.

I would not recommend expending wishes on that thing. This would be good on release or version 2. Now, what it is giving, too old. Jean is good because now she is meta, maybe if you want a specific weapon for Eula or Ganyu, but even when I have them and love them, I would not wish on this banner.

I just view this banner as another option that is good in general. Ive saved up to 180 for basically every time I decide I want someone. I've lost 50% of my 50/50s lol. Also do we even know that event banner pity carries over to this? It could be that pity is separate.

@@frey5218 I base it on the situation. For something like this I'd say a couple extra months for sure. Yes these are based off of a region at the moment and we did have a eula banner recently but I just think they'll leave it longer for characters that don't earn as much.
When Keqing gets added to this banner I'll C6 her instantly. But don't feel you have to do the same. I main her, she just loves to dodge me since 1.0 and I can spare some wishes and wallet-kun for her.

I really don't understand the negativity this banner is getting, it being a "scam" and "not worth it", imo it's the best banner we'll have. Given that any character that was featured at least 3 time can appear there, it's absolutely op (if they don't change it too much). There are currently 20 limited 5* characters (including all archons except furina) that could be put there given time. Like if they put there 6 limited characters it's a no brainer to not pull, it costs the same for a character as the normal character banners, so if you don't like the current character banners you can literally pull on this and if you lose 50/50 can get 2 limited characters, which is infinitely better than any standard character. Also the thing it not being F2P friendly is crap, it costs you the exact same to go to hard pitty and it using intertwined fates so what, they all still costs primogems in the end and since it's using these if you exchanged them you can just go pull on another banner instead. And yes the 50/50 reset after patch is sad but it makes it fair, so just save up and don't pull when you know you wont have enough primogems. Also it's better to get weapons, but it doesn't look like they'll include signature ones, thank god cuz i'd be broke xd
Exactly this. The pity resetting sucks yeah but i didn't think it was such a big issue to people till i saw their reactions. You'd have to save 180 wishes for a character you want anyway it's the same thing, it really only affects you if "build pity" which you shouldn't be doing anyway. Literally just save before pulling like you should be doing anyway

Actually it will be including signature weapons, Song Of Broken Pines is in fact included. Albedo and Klee just don’t have signature weapons (unless the limited ones from 2.3 and 1.6 respectively count, which I personally don’t think they do even as someone who mains both), so it looks slightly worse than it is.

Although this is old I just want to point out that Chronicled Wish pity DOES carry over between banners. It is identical to the weapon banner. Its pity is its own, and its fate points do not carry over, but your pity toward a five star still remains.
