Yes, it starts at home but not all kids get it or have it at home and we need the true programs that instill this. My goodness, when she said it starts at home, a chill ran down my spine. If these kids had parents like the ones I had they would not be hanging out getting into trouble. When School is out you better be heading straight home. Parents are failing their kids. Set guidelines, work they need to do everyday. they were called chores, I don't know if they still use that word now or not. After that it's homework time, then they take their ass to bed. And have a curfew. They say you can't hit your kid, yes you can. If and when they don't follow the rules of the house and want to do what they want, then put them out. If kids think their grown then make them prove it. Parents stand up and take your place as parents, if not it just might be your kid the next time.

When I was coming up my parent’s didn’t play that hanging out stuff with your friends, you went to school 🏫, did your chores, homework, & then to bed. On “Sunday’s” it was Sunday School, & CHUrch ⛪️. Sometimes we were able to go to our friends house 🏡, but my friend’s parents were just like my parent’s, before dark, they made us go home. When I got grown & got married, we raised our children the same exact way, I have som good children, never got in any trouble, never went to jail. These young children today, I just don’t know what kind of up bringing they have. They are disrespectful, they call grown folks by their first name, not Mrs. or MR. but as children we did, we better not call an adult 👩🏾 by their first name, without putting Mrs, or Mr” on their first name. Things were sooo much different when we were growing up. Now these children’s do what ever they want to do, & they are getting younger & younger, dying younger from guy shots or 🔪 it’s just awful 😢. This little 13 year old boy should’ve been at home 🏠. I hope he will be able to walk again, I’m 🙏🏿 for him & his mother.

      "We Are Stronger"
A Poem by Steven F Gooden
We're never as strong, as we are until we have to be. Never Do as much, unless the need we see. Only give our best, when we fail at mediocrity. We Love rather than hate when we admit we're one humanity. We always give more, when compassion moves our heart with unbridled generosity. We Become more of our potential when we are made to see, that clearly our minds can believe in unfathomable possibilities, while seizing every opportunity, here in lies one's destiny. More than our scars, higher than our stars, for in our flaws are what defines our features, they're uniquely ours, as human creatures.
We can run faster than on our slowest day. Reason better, and thinking it through all the way, regardless which direction our emotions may sway. We can find our voice when speechless, our strong words with meekness and our Courage in weakness. Always patience not quickness. Silence for peace than loudness, quietness of fear, not hopeless, for time and effort are equally unbiased. We are more than the stories we're told, we're the one's we write, each page unfold. We are the sum of our Lies and truth, fantasy, fiction, faith, and myths, no matter how uncouth. These are what shape us, our lives lived is the proof. We can be more right than wrong. So we never got into trouble outside of our house. We went to school & our butt had to be home at a certain time to do homework and chores. Parents now just don’t have their kids on check anymore

The Flag the Stand the Reason, The Man ( By Steven F. Gooden )
No trifle stripe doest grace this Cloth
Each Band, each strand by blood, no froth
Whilst noblest battles do rage and grow
We stay the course for this we know
No cost for cause tis too much too pay
When freedom cries this too we pray
That men will rise, risk life & Limb
For, Family, Country but most for HIM
It's He who formed us by His Design
So for His Purpose keep this in Mind
All men, no matter how poor or rich
Great or not were equally stitched
Made in His Image, both mind and Soul
To perform His will for the good of the Whole
Kneel not for tyranny, in hate or Jest
Stand up rather, for 2 feet are best
Stand up give Thanks for those who cant
Those who've died to give voice to rant
Ever thankful for your rights by blood
Thus Use it wisely for this they stood
They stood and fell that we might rise
Tis Now our turn, our fight to realize
Freedom's cost tis always born in strife
It's price is life and Sacrifice
Remember and pause for all those before
They were first with less, did more
This Flag we salute, this idea we cling
It's for this idea we stand and sing
For No trifle stripe doest grace this Cloth
Each Band, each strand from blood, not froth
Whilst noblest battles do rage and grow
We stay the course for this we know
No cost for cause tis too much too pay
We answer freedom's cry and say
We all will rise, and risk life & Limb

@ Destiny Gil ... well said. Now, they would call it child abuse. So if it's child abuse (by law) and you cannot discipline your child/children, then we can point our fingers on who exactly is to be blamed.

  • @thedoubleboiler6971
    @thedoubleboiler6971 Год назад +18

Actually, abuse starts when kids learn it's okay from their parents, "friends", tv shows, music, etc. More than half the reason I don't talk to my parents is because of how they believe that they could treat me. Then they wonder why I still don't speak with them, or trust them, due to their beliefs in that area today. Kids don't need a beating, they need correction and direction. They need a parent to talk to, who will listen to what they are going through, acknowledge it and respond to it in a healthy way. Going straight to a beating?... Who is the adult here? We can do better than that. We are better than that.

    • @nissanrider1155

Then why did none of this nonsense start until the "beatings" stopped. I have seen many kids who have wonderful parents that don't spank do awful things. Most of the parents that do spank have more polite and respectful children. Nothing motivates more than fear.

@@staylifejamie7405 Long story short? Everyday mistakes that a normal young child would make. Spilt milk, ran in the hall, etc. As a parent myself. I now realize the complete lacking of brain cells my parents had/have.
They never read anything except their religious script, do no support higher education, self improvement and haven forbid we did anything in life better than them. We were basically their retirement plan (that failed miserably as no on stayed) and they are narcissists. I had no help with anything growing up and even shoveled drives to buy my own clothes. I was the scapegoat, until I left and then the scapegoat was passed on and so on, until no one stayed. So there you have it.
Eventually I ended up being independent, joined the military, have a house and family of my own. My wife helped me with a LOT of areas and I read for fun/ explore areas of learning (gardening, making things by hands carpentry, etc) for fun. The difference is that I encourage that in my own son, never hit or name call, always pull to the side and explain what he did wrong, why it was wrong, suggest another task to do instead and reward good behavior only. It works amazingly and we have an amazing kid out as a result.
Give it a try. You may just like the results.

@@nissanrider1155 Everyone parents differently. Just because you throw out spanking/ name calling, it does not mean to simply neglect bad behavior. This is where the out of the box thinking happens and it takes a team effort.
Kids act up. It happens and it's natural. What's important is what the parent does next. Pull them aside,
Explain what they did was wrong/ why and remove a privilege for an appropriate time. Then spend time with them/ fill that void that was just taken, with real quality time. Put the smartphone/ tv down. Talk, and be there for your children, the way that you wanted someone there for you, when you were growing up.
Back in the day, we didn't have these cellphones and most of the time, people spend more time on these devices then they do simply talking face to face.
Spending quality time with our kids is seriously lacking in our society today. We can't expect to place a tablet/ game system in front of them and calling it a day to not have serious repercussions down the road. Not to mention, with the violence, etc and lack of content for kids in family fun/ play, in everything ranging from the mainstream music industry, gaming industry, tv, mass media in general. It's as if children have been forgotten about. It's extremely important to note what/ who they are being influenced by.
On the personal side, I have RUclips and Instagram, and only spend time on it when my family is asleep, or when I'm on the toilet. Other than that, it rests in my pocket or on the charger.
Maybe it's from being fed up with all of that time being eaten away? Maybe I don't need to spend every aspect of my life on social media or game my life away on a console. One thing is for sure, I spend WAYYYY more time with my family on a quality time scale and get a lot more work done as well.
Anyway, that's my take and personal experience/ observation on the matter.

It's certainly possible that there were kids whom were trying to break up the fight, however, unless there were reports of multiple weapons being used therefore evening the fighting field, I just don't see someone defending themselves by killing another kid.
Based on the information that we know with gangs being involved it seems that knife may have been used on purpose.

It's ridiculous, when I was a kid you found crap to do and it didn't involve illegal activities. It's a p I s s poor excuse to say oh well they don't have nothing to do no programs and blah blah blah, h e l l back in my day there wasn't all the things kids have now a days! They have plenty to do! They CHOOSE to be ignorant and most of their parents don't got a clue. Sad for the victim but again what is that kid doing there to start with. Like come on!! • @VOLRAK1

Everybody is zoning in on parents and the parenting skills and of course there is merit there however let's consider that peer pressure wins over parenting first of all. You were a kid too you know this very well what you where prepared to do and how far you'd go to make yourself and your friends happy over mom and dad's decisions despite the consequences you'd face from your good parents. If you have children then you should be aware of and experience this especially when they hit teens. Also a lot of the craziest crimes have been committed by folks from what you would consider a "good home" so what does that say? And finally I know you all can't believe every one of those kids have "bad parents". Remember even good people fight too. How it ends as with any fight is what matters and sadly this rumble ended in death so S.I.P to the kid Luis Mejia Hernandez

I can’t tell you how many times my parents tried to keep me from doing stupid shit, and it just made me want to do it more. They tried to warn me, set restrictions, and I was a good kid (for the most part.) But that’s just it: peer pressure. Parents are highly responsible for this outcome, as is the peer pressure. Still, I don’t know how law enforcement, parents, school, etc. let these kids keep mingling and causing trouble. Of course it was going to escalate to this. People are always scared to take action nowadays until it’s too late. These kids could’ve been broken up and taken care of long ago. The area could’ve been swept clean to prevent this from happening. Wonder why..

We know what and how we teach them but we don’t know how they act when we aren’t around. These kids just don’t care, also there are a lot more parents that just don’t care then there are parents that do care. Which in return makes parenting that much harder.
