    That’s wild you mention your back pain, I thought it was me but i’m having lower right back pain as well and i have been running through my mind in what I did to hurt it and never crossed my mind that it would be the seat! I appreciate your feedback and thank you

      I also have mobility issues and a disk hernia. It’s possible you could have other issues but yeah I found the seat uncomfortable.

    Good video! I actually think the factory seat on my Black Sportster S is pretty good. Had to get the black with the bronze accents, looks so menacing. I’ve seen another white in person and it’s good too, seen the red in passing and man that’s a great color too. Not a fan of the green /: . Exhaust is meh but when you’re up there in the revs it doesn’t sound all too bad and it burbles and pops from the factory! I’ll be adding the tail tidy, removing the ugly front turn signals, I’d like a 2-1 exhaust that turns down. The TBR is nice, but I feel like it’s not the bikes true potential with the sound and it’s still in that up position. I want all out chaos. Straight pipe. Eventually I’d like to add a 260 tire on the rear also and some lower drag bars. Possibly a custom mid mounted pegs too. You’re right, this bike gets all kinds of attention too. People telling me it’s something batman would ride hahah, it does make you feel some type of way. I have a 21’ and so far so good with it. Almost 2k miles

      KodlinUSA makes nice front turn signals. I’ll get those eventually. Thanks for watching!

    Make dual front brakes and have that dual look exhaust on the other side . That would look so much better.

      I LOVE the green colour. Between my friend and I we have 6 very nice motorcycles (including a Rocket 3). None get more attention than this bike.

      They are good mirrors, but they come loose. My friend lost his and mine fell off on the highway. I caught it. I haven’t had many issues since I added a bit of loctite to it.

    You own the 2 motorcycles that I’m currently looking at. Even the same colors. How weird.. I’m obviously not buying 2 motorcycles, especially at 16 grand, but if you were to keep the R9T or the Sportster S, which would you keep? Which do you think is better and which is most practical?

      Tough question… the R NineT needs suspension upgrades. I’m 205 lbs and both the front and rear suspension are just not sprung for my weight (and definitely not a passenger) Both bikes are fast, the Sportster is faster. The sportster also gets more attention. However the BMW is better on the highway due to the front shroud and is overall more comfortable to ride. The BMW also has way better aftermarket support. The BMW has been more reliable (although the dealer is farther away from me) and my Harley service department is kind of unprofessional. You can also take a passenger on the BMW easier. Also I am really disappointed I didn’t get the gold wheels for the BMW.
      I also rode a Diavel a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed. My Sportster was smoother although the Diavel was slightly quicker.
      Just a bunch of random thoughts. I really can’t pick. I love them both. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    • @ChrisDavis333
      @ChrisDavis333 Год назад

      I’m single 6’4 170 pounds if that tilts your recommendation one way or the other.. I just don’t think I’d ever find someone that owns both of the bikes again. I have never been a Harley guy but my first time seeing that bike I loved the way it looked, similar to the R NineT several years back(specifically the white/red urban gs) actually there might have been a grey one with a brown seat that first got my attention and then I stumbled on the white and red urban gs. I will be getting one of these bikes by Jan. 01. I’m going to do a few mods and will have it ready by the warmer months which is March in my area. I have great dealership support in my area for both bikes, more so Harley dealers as I’m surrounded by them in all directions and have experience with them through friends. The BMW dealers are more like Ducati/BMW dealers as opposed to standalone dealers. I would be extremely upset without the spoked wheels, that’s what initially got me in the door, it’s why I like bikes like the Scrambler 1200’s. Tall hulking bikes with spoked wheels just look really sick. How much are they going to try to charge you after the fact? I imagine a tremendous amount more than if upgraded from the factory. Sorry I’m all over the place, 1 last question for you, which is better for non-highway riding? Putting around town/city/mild twistys? Are they both equally unwieldy in the parking lot and at low speeds? Thanks again!

    • @DrFearCo
      @DrFearCo  Год назад

      @@ChrisDavis333 don’t buy the bike without the wheels… to buy them from BMW after the fact is over $4k (it’s a $600 option). If you go for the BMW I would budget for the fork cartridges (unit garage $700)… you’ll want them even at your weight. If you can swing $2k I’d go for the full fork.
      If you want a bulletproof motor and a more reliable bike go for the BMW. If you’re not completely sold on the urban G/S, go for the top spec R NineT as it has the nice suspension from the factory.
      The harley is fast and lots of fun, the electrical gremlins will be a bit frustrating (although they are getting better day by day) and you’ll be frustrated having to explain to people that the bike you own isn’t really a sportster.
      However I can tell you for sure that the harley gets more attention (if you care about that) especially in that mineral green colour.

      No issues starting. I’ve had a couple check engine lights that haven’t come back since the last update from the dealer. I keep it on a charger (even though I ride almost every day during the summer) which helps - according to HD.
      I have never experienced the starter issues shown in early videos like rev zilla etc.

    Forward foot pegs will always make a seat worse than it needs to be. Get mid controls and you will be able to put your weight on your feet for bumps, etc. and will always be able to make small adjustments to your saddle position. Allowing all your weight on any saddle is not going to be good for your lower back or tail-bone. Handling will feel much better as well. Also, I would just dump the Harley nav. as it will never be as good as Google Maps. Just use the one that is already developed. Why wait for Harley to catch up? I like the color you chose, but really don't like many of the bulbous plastic covers. I would ditch those as soon as some good slim metal ones are available, or make my own. I actually don't know why they didn't just make a decent looking radiator in the first place.

    Every angle on this train wreck of a “Harley Davidson” is fugly but one (looking from right side rear to front)- this angle looks pretty cool. Then you see the radiator sitting 3 feet out in front of the engine and then you see the wimpy, 1970’s single brake rotor and the aforementioned hideous left side along with the gaudy rear swingarm mounted taillight and plate holder and realize you just paid $20K for an ugly sportster (a model synonymous with a ladies bike) and hope you can get at least half of your payoff on a trade. I hear the engine is great though even though it sounds like a JD mower.

      This comment is way too negative for no good reason. This bike has had amazing reviews, people love the looks, even sports bikes guys are like 'what the hell, this is amazing! How does this thing exist?'. It is like a Muscle Cruiser, brute cruiser looks and sports performance jammed together. It looks modern and futuristic at the same time. Aftermarket exhausts exist for a reason, people get them on traditional bikes anyway, but new regulations forces manufacturers to put on the OEM style exhaust. Even with that, I don't care, HD is finally modernizing their bikes get away from stagnant decades of vbikes the looked and performed like they were from the 1950s.

      Check out an Indian FTR for an ugly radiator. it happens. I have never seen a video where the owner says "i wish it had dual rotors".
      Sure the tail light mount is the 1st thing to go, but what sportster owner never mod'd their ride?
      I'll mark you down as a "maybe" !

    Harley sets their bikes up so you have to buy their Chinese made crap parts to fix their factory crap they didn’t do correctly. Long time Harley guy but Harley can’t seem to turn things around. They have priced themselves out of business. They won’t be around for long

  • @colt2206
    @colt2206 Год назад

    It’s ridiculous that the mirrors won’t stay on and that for that price you have to replace Harleys cheap ass seat. Also ridiculous that it doesn’t come with a radiator guard. You have to spend smoother $200 for guard to keep radiator from getting punctured. For the overpriced bike it should at least be a good bike ready to go. Instead Harley wants you to spend all kinda money to buy overpriced Chinese made shit to finish the bike so it can be used

    • @DrFearCo
      @DrFearCo  Год назад

      I agree about the radiator guard. I have heard some people say they like the seat... not me. I have had more issues with shitty service than the actual bike but yeah I get it. This bike also has no kickstand down engine cut off which is weird.
