Love the bread and ham shorthand for technical, reproducible bugs that take multiple precise steps lol - definitely makes the whole speedrun easier to understand.
This is honestly the optimal level of broken. Broken enough that you can do crazy funny shit in a speedrun but not broken too much that people just playing normally will likely ever encounter anything too crazy

It's funny, the out of bounds void in this game looks just like it did in the original. Not having the running shoes would def make it slower, but can you menu stack before picking a starter Pokemon? If you can, seeing as there are no battles in the run, you could theoretically get past Cynthia without ever becoming a trainer. Might be a fun category by itself, just seeing how the Hall of Fame reacts.
He'd have to find something else to create duplicate interfaces to interface stall with, because in this video he's using the Turtwig menu dupe for his interface stall.
Unfortunately no, you need a Pokémon to do this variant of the menu glitch, and there's no other variations of it you can do this early on. Would probably still be a net timeloss anyway, because of how far you have to walk with no Running Shoes.

Datamining the instant a game comes out. Who wants to play a game for fun and learn things that way when you can just rip the code immediately and post everything on Reddit for ~karma~?
Because you have a different goal. When you booted it up, you probably went "oh cool, new game, let's go". Dialga and Palkia: The hell, who's messing with the universe again?!
Giratina: Humans, they always find ways to make things interesting.
Arceus:. . .I find this very amusing.
The fact that this remake let people discover bugs in the originals that they hadn't tried before, says a lot about this game.
Cynthia: we shall now battle for the title of cham-
Ant: *proceeds to eat ham and clip to the hall of fame*
Cynthia: Well, since you’ve reached me, I guess this means we battle?
SmallAnt: Samdwich

Curious whats the other one
@@iimuffinsaur Twilight Princess Ganondorf.
Wouldn't this be 3? I feel like there is a 3rd somewhere.
@@abitofsupport601 me to what the fuck. what's our missing fishing pole
Ocarina of Time too, right?
I really hope ScottFalco makes a "A totally legit Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Speedrun" video
Ideally, the animation has the MC throw a slice of ham into Cynthia's face, cutting her off midsentence.
Thank you for taking the time to add all those edits in! I bet making the menus transparent took a lot of time!
How the hell do people figure this stuff out
Apparently there's a lot of code from the old games or at least similiar.
My best guess is simply… bread
Sandvich
*Its what I'm wondering*
Boredom and brute force.
Incredible how effectively you described complex speedrunning techniques using a sandwich analogy.
Broken, yes but also a really cool look into a lot of the little things the game does to make it work for a regular play experience.
I like how for the entire video he's talking about making sadwiches, while not making a single proper one.
The sandwich analogy is one of the strangest yet most creative things ive seen in speedrunning
at the end when rowan told Cynthia "there is a time and place for everything" i imagine he was trying to save her from the glitches which would probably be considered witchcraft.
This feels like some old school action replay shenanigans
take a shot every time smant says "bread" to speedrun getting absolutely hammered
Ham-ered
Gamefreak was inspired by your sandwich analogy that they made sandwiches a key part of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
This game is fully functional and has no bugs whatsoever...clearly...
But isnt this a good thing? i mean if the game had zero bugs the wr would be like 3 hours or something
@@Gabe413 These glitches really dont count for much, even in a speedrun. Tehre are multipl different categories, and ones that are glitchless are still being done. A 3 hour one and this 17 minute one wouldnt be compared with eachother no way. Its like comparing a sandwich to spaghetti. Sandwich is something you can make quickly using some short cuts, but a spaghet takes time, dedication, and usually luck
@@Gabe413 The issue is that this game is broken
So what? How do glitches like that matter?
IT IS fully functional... You can force glitches and it is not bug-free but you can still play the game completely as it was intended without any problems, so it is fully-functional for its original purpose.
The post commentary with the jokes is just amazing! Stream was so fun as well!
the sandwich analogy makes it 10x more confusing lmao
I feel like, the more broken a game is, the faster someone can speedrun it.
Facts, cause the broken components let you skip so much
no shit sherlock
no longer first in the comments huh...
wonder what happened to the owo guy
I just saw your commnent on ludwigs video: i made pokemon platnium impossible
Will you ever grow a mustache?
I cant believe that they kept the void glitch. They really were faithful remakes.
When the remakes are so accurate they even readded the void
5:21 This was unironically one of the funniest moments in speedrun history.
He didn’t make history
The starly you fight when you first get turtwig is the true final boss of Pokémon.
You predicted that sandwiches in pokemon are incredibly powerful (gen9). Well done!
the video has been out for 10< mins and already 7k people have started watching it. says a lot about you as a content creator (positively)
Keep up the amazing content
I feel so bad for gen 4 fans. They were totally shafted with this one.
Idk I really like this game tbh. It has some game breaking bugs that honestly you CAN abuse but when playing Pokémon there really isn’t a reason TOO do it. It’s a neat thing that doesn’t affect normal gameplay. Also it’s kinda funny that something like this was also in the og Gen 4 games.
Me: takes hours to beat Cynthia
Smallant: takes a couple of seconds to beat cynthia
We have moved past the stage of cheesing boss fights, we are now hamming them!
